From what I've listened to and read, it appearS that the Trumpers on the Supreme Court will allow Trump to be on the ballot for 2024 -- to let the American people decide if he'll be president.
Just remember: The last time the American people overwhelmingly decided to kick the corrupt Liar, Cheat, and Fraud out of the White House, Trump and his mobs attacked the Capitol and tried to stop the electoral certification; he and his fellow felons tried to foist fake electors onto certain states; and Trump himself tried to feloniously get Georgia's secretary of state to illegally give him enough votes to steal the winner of Georgia's electoral votes: Joe Biden.
The last time Trump was on the ballot AND LOST, he tried to steal the election from its rightful winner.
And now the SCOTUS will give him a chance to repeat that anti-democracy episode and cheat the American people again.

From what I read in the legal blogs there was a valid legal procedural reason the Colorado case failed. Apparently only the Feds (Congress/Supreme) Court can decide if a President is guilty of planning and instigating an insurrection, not a state court because each state has their own election rules/regs.
I get it. Colorado overstepped their authority. At least the case brought the issue into the light. Great cleanser, sunlight.
It appears the scotus is likely to wimp out for Trump. Maybe scotus belongs to the MAGAverse.

I'm sure the SCOTUS will decide that Trump will remain on the state ballots despite the fact that he and his associates planned a coup to remain in power after he lost the 2020 election.
It is beyond understanding, for me anyway, to process the idea that so many Americans believe a conman, Liar, Cheat, Fraud, and sexual assaulter/rapist is worthy of leading our country again.
Sometimes I think we lose sight of just how messed up crazy sh*t is, and we walk around like it’s totally normal that our Supreme Court (which features a handmaiden who was appointed by a rapist, a credibly accused rapist who was appointed by a rapist, and credibly accused sexual harasser whose wife tried to overturn an election for a rapist) is deciding whether or not a rapist former president should be ineligible on a state’s primary ballots because he incited & encouraged an attack against our country in order to stay in the office he is once again seeking.
I mean what the fk are we even talking about?
Gonna be 9-0 for Trump on this one.

Here's something I'm pretty sure I know...
No liberal governor will be out front saying he or she has a right to, or will be defying the SCOTUS decision in this case. Because unlike conservatives, even when we dislike a SCOTUS decision, we don't burn the place down, claim a non existent right, or foist an insurrection on the American ppl, or system of government.
And it's not because we're sheeple, it's because we know how fragile democracy is and the importance of the rule of law.
It's why Al Gore in 2020 texted his team this message... “Please make sure that no one trashes the Supreme Court” after they shut down a hand recount in an election decided by less that 300 votes.
Can anyone here imagine Trump or any member of the GOP doing something like that?

Then Gore, as the presiding officer of the Senate accepted the votes of the electors and certified the election. Even though he had a credible case that he had won the election.

Al Gore was a statesman. You may not have liked his politics, but he put America above his high personal ambition. As did Nixon in 1960.
That's what real leaders do.
Sadly, Trump will never do that. We have his record so far when the SCOTUS rules against him and i'm sure when they rebuff his immunity case, we'll see him complaining and fomenting unrest again.
