Trump insists on calling himself a "very stable genius," but...

he's actually:

Trump’s Disinfectant Remark Raises a Question About the ‘Very Stable Genius’

The president has often said he is exceptionally smart. His recent suggestion about injecting disinfectants was not.

"President Trump’s self-assessment has been consistent. “I’m, like, a very smart person,” he assured voters in 2016. “A very stable genius,” he ruled two years later. “I’m not a doctor,” he allowed on Thursday, pointing to his skull inside the White House briefing room, “but I’m, like, a person that has a good you-know-what.”

Mr. Trump’s performance that evening, when he suggested that injections of disinfectants into the human body could help combat the coronavirus, did not sound like the work of a doctor, a genius, or a person with a good you-know-what.

Even by the turbulent standards of this president, his musings on virus remedies have landed with uncommon force, drawing widespread condemnation as dangerous to the health of Americans and inspiring a near-universal alarm that many of his past remarks — whether offensive or fear-mongering or simply untrue — did not."

Numerous newspapers called for Clinton's resignation in 1998-99. Where are they now? The U.S. has 4% of the world's population & 25% of the world's corona virus deaths. Trump is a complete failure & is unfit to be POTUS. Every newspaper should demand his resignation.

In the next day or two the Covid-19 pandemic death toll in the United States will match that Vietnam War death toll. (On Sunday night, the tally stood at 55,000.) What took nine years of jungle warfare in Vietnam, Trump and his utterly failed pandemic leadership has overseen in just six weeks time. Yet rather than conceding his failures and acknowledging his shame the way Johnson did in a self-less attempt to heal the nation, Trump has spent recent days suggesting people ingest Lysol or Clorox in order to cure themselves of Covid-19. (He later insisted, not believably, that he was joking about the deadly advice.)

Nearly 58,000 are dead, the American economy has collapsed, food lines are growing, and the unemployment rate could hit 20 percent this year. In a sense, this is Trump's Vietnam and Trump's Great Depression.

Paula I agree. But the Trump cultists will continue to support him.

Supporters of DtD (Dotard the Dim) exemplify the expression - you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink. And, DtD hasn't the decency or love for country to do the honorable thing and resign. He hasn't the intelligence to understand why he shoud.

RN Ain't that the truth.

We can now state that Trump cultists admire a guy who suggested that C-19 victims inject Lysol to make the virus go away.

That's the mush-brain they admire, in addition to all of his other horrid qualities, he's a babbling idiot.

Shaw... There should be no more questions. President Trump knew of the coming pandemic in January and February. We now know from the PDB, remember that document from the Bush Admin, that Pres Trump received more than a dozen briefings from his own admin about what was ahead for the American people.

What the president did was then either disregard it, believing he was smarter than the ppl bringing him the info, or lie directly to the American people. There is no other option. Plain and simple.

What Joe Biden may have done or said is irrelevant. What Pres Obama did in a prior admin is irrelevant. The facts as they relate to this instance are that President Trump either chose to repeatedly lie to the American people or simply did not believe all the evidence before him and made a horrible choice to go with his gut.

Either way, he should again be impeached.

He is either willfully ignorant, or willfully dishonest. Choose your poison. Either way he is not upholding his oath of office and if a Dem was in office, you can bet the Libertarians and Republicans would be calling all day for his ouster.

Here's the quote of the week... alright, one of them.

“I think we’ll be substantially, hopefully, below the [100,000] number,”... And I think, right now, we’re heading at probably around 60-, maybe 65,000.”

Of course that quote is from President Trump. Why is it important? Because of Trumpistas who posit theories like this...

"But MANY of those deaths are said to be COVID when the truth is the forms at the hospitals ask doctors to write COVID if it’s suspected, even if they had a heart attack."

Of course it's backed up by a You Tube video from One American News. Sadly though, these folks aren't aware that even President Trump is not disputing the numbers. So if they are right, what they are saying is this...

Donald Trump is dumber than they are.

Clueless is as clueless does...

Scary isn't it?

Dave See today's blog post.

Everyone who has a functioning brain knows that Trump had 3 years to plan for what many experts knew would eventually happent: a global pandemic.

Trump disrupted, fired, got rid of the mechanisms put in place by previous administrations to deal with such a eventuality.

The virus itself is not Trump's fault. The slow response, the insuffiencent materiale to deal with it, and the lying, telling Americans it is nothing and would disappear -- those are all Trump's fault. Every single death resulting from his and his administration's incompetence, callousness, and mendacity are their fault.

The people on the far right blogs still defending Trump are lost souls who'll never understand wha hit them come November, because even by then they'll still believe Trump was doing a heckava good job.

Pathetic.
