With the AG pick I do agree that he is not a good choice but has a bone to pick with democrats and that is why he was selected. His choices of incompetents cannot compete with mayor pete, garland, jennifer, alejandro, an of course we can't we forget swift boat. Many holdovers from the obama debacle with no or limited experience in what they were going to do but with biden they were selected not because they had a clue but because they checked a box.
And this is how minority rule by the built-in failure of the Electoral College abetted by a corrupt Supreme Court proved to be a suicide pill for a so-called democratic republic.
Trump's cabinet will be the first cabinet in history where every single nominee would fail an FBI background check, and none of them would meet the requirements for any security clearance.
This is what Trumpublicans want and voted for.
No one could say that about ONE of Obama's or Biden's Cabinet choices. Not one.

There is a large segment of our population that has lost the ability to judge what it means to be a decent and honest human being, and those people don't care to vote for someone who has those virtues, because they're blinded by their allegiance to a political party and the corrupt man who leads it.
Instead of looking for the crème de la crème to lead our nation, the Felon-elect chooses incompetents, sexual assaulters, con men, liars, and cheats.

Hello fellow denizens of PE. Been a minute - a rough minute on my side but there you go. Lots of reading and listening done, so there is that.
As each cabinet pick is revealed and tossed about in the media I'm sensing a theme. The news gets focused on all the crimes already committed by the incoming administration and then poof - a cabinet pick and if that's not enough chum for the masses there will be additional picks until the media-verse is filled with debates and outrages over the qualifications of whomever is in the spotlight that second.
As I see it, each pick is merely a figure head, a distraction for who will really be doing their best to bend the country to their authoritarian ways. How do I see this? Well, I studied magicians back in the day combined with extra credit classes in learning to spot and avoid a conman. It was all part of my educating myself to ensure I'd never be sucked in by a cult. Ever! If you know, you know. If you don't, well, pray you never have to experience that level of starting over.
At any rate, the resistance to such machinations is real, live, and looking forward to the challenges. What interests me is how forward looking their messages and platform are portrayed - to a person they want better for our whole country, no exceptions. I also am proud how they are not shy of criticizing those clinging to outdated and crumbling governmental architecture and norms of the past seventy years. What our country looks like when their vision has materialized will be better for all, and likely a bane for those who chose hate over progress this last election.
Of course this will be rough, all endings and beginnings are not smooth. Pulling together, checking on a neighbor - you know, things so many claim to support but in reality practice greed and selfishness.
With both the president-elect and the billionaire failed rocket side kick (can't wait to see how their battling egos plays out, especially since I believe one - or both - are in Putin's pocket) plans to fire multiple thousands of career office workers, cutting the safety net - I've told you it's a string before, correct? the cuts will make it finer than a silk thread. You think six month waiting lists for an appointment to apply for benefits is bad... yeah, we are so screwed)...
...and I can't finish the thought because I already can't afford to live, and I'm subsidized to boot. That goes away I'm homeless.
I'd almost (Almost!) respect MAGA more if they'd just shoot me but no, it's starvation times because cruelty is the point.
does no one remember the high price of eggs during covid wasn't inflation but due to all the Big Egg producers getting together to hike up prices? no?
This president elect, Project 2025, and the now reactionary trumpublican party will, unfortunately, do exactly the exact opposite of what needs to be done.
What this country really needs, is much more loving kindness, compassion, and acceptance of all people regardless of race, ethnicity, life style, or creed.
We can change our nation. And world. One loving, caring, and compassionate person at a time.
I have been leading guided meditations at the Senior Center for a while. Since the election the interest in, and attendance at, has increased. The positive vibrations that are sent out to the universe help not only the practitioner but sentient beings everywhere.
Staying positive and focused ain't easy right now for sure. But being a positive influence in your community, in whatever way one can be, is the only path to eventually effecting positive social change.
It can happen. But only if we stick together in the altruistic effort to make life a bit better for our family, friends, neighbors, acquaintances, and even our so called "enemies".
