The problem is how does any sane person know when to do that, and when not to do that? Weeks ago when Trump said the war would be over a two weeks, was that time to hear it literally, or seriously?
When Trump said he was going to bomb Iran and "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again", was that the time to hear it literally, or seriously?
Now Trump is saying he will bomb an ally that is part of the "negotiating" for us with Iran.
Where are all the auto pen, "sleepy joe" people now that Trump is clearly off his rocker? Where are all the nickname folks who mocked both Biden and Obama with their cutesy trolling now? They're silent for some reason.
President Trump has become the boy who cries wolf. And he's made the US that boy too! Everyone knows it. We know it, Oman knows it and of course, Iran knows it as well.
We bombed Iran for over 30 days. They took our best shot and survived. Then they struck back, setting back oil production and exports from a main site in Qatar for years. They bombed US bases across the region, literally shutting some of them down. Our bases!
And Trump blinked. Because he knows Iran has the ability, not to strike or harm the US militarily, and they never did, but to inflict great economic harm on the world and us by keeping the strait closed and bombing other oil production sites in the Middle East.
We've bungled wars before and we'll do it again. But we've never screwed up to such a level as to appear untrustworthy, weak and unable to even withdraw, without making it worse. Neither Biden or Obama on their worst days in office compromised the word of the US around the globe as Trump has done. We never made our enemies stronger.
Iran now has real power it never had, China is ascendant as India soon will be too. All because of POTUS Trump.
The only real question is what's next?
