Why did someone with his education and academic and professional achievements get mixed up with a conman, liar, cheat, fraud, and sexual assaulter/rapist to the point of conspiring to break the law?

A Georgia Republican official who pushed false claims that the 2020 election was “stolen” was found to have voted illegally nine times, a judge ruled this week.
Brian Pritchard, first vice chairman of the Georgia Republican Party, was ordered to pay a $5,000 fine, as well as investigative costs, and be publicly reprimanded.
Shaw... this is why the GOP is so well versed in how much actual voter fraud there is in the USA. Because they are the ones doing it.
A quick look at the Heritage Foundation [A GOP "think tank"] database will show that the great majority of actual voter fraud over the last 20 years, has been from Republicans.
And this is just another example.
Now let's add that in South Carolina, the SCOTUS has thrown out their GOP drawn voter maps, calling them a "racist use of the gerrymander." The current SCOTUS did that.
How bad must they be for the Alito/Thomas court to be shamed into agreeing with the liberals that the GOP is racist?
But that's not the kicker.
They've had the case since October and have slow walked it, and now have approved SC to go ahead and use the racist maps, because now there is no time to redraw those again, racist maps before the June primary.
