RUSH LIMBAUGH IS STILL A RACIST PIG

And the dittoheads who listen to this splatter of vomitous discharge are no better.  This is racism at its worst, and yet Americans keep this pig in business and have made him a wealthy, oily smear on American politics.

Limbaugh, apparently gone mad with envy and his richly deserved feelings of inadequacies, has only his racism and lies to counter what must eat at his maggot infested brain.

Mr. Obama is the President of the United States of America, the most powerful man in the world.

And Rush Limbaugh has a radio talk show.  He's rich, but so are people who deal in porn.

Do we see a pattern here in his remarks?  There's no doubt, this pig is a modern-day Lester Maddox.  The only difference is that Maddox used a hatchet as a menacing tool to underscore his racism; Limbaugh uses his tongue.

Limbaugh: Obama "wouldn't have been voted president if he weren't black"

Limbaugh: "If Obama weren't black he'd be a tour guide in Honolulu"

Limbaugh: Why was Michelle Obama not at Byrd's funeral? Because of her "authentic slave blood"? "We can only speculate"

"The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well. There is little hope invested in [Donovan] McNabb, and he got a lot of credit for the performance of this team that he didn't deserve."

"We are being told that we have to hope [Obama] succeeds, that we have to bend over, grab the ankles ... because his father was black."

"I do believe" Obama is an "angry black guy."

"[I]n Obama's America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering."

"Obama's entire economic program is reparations."

Obama is "more African in his roots than he is American" and is "behaving like an African colonial despot."

"Obama has disowned his white half ... he's decided he's got to go all in on the black side."

Sotomayor "a reverse racist" appointed by Obama, "the greatest living example of a reverse racist."

Obama "wants us to have the same health care and plan that he had in Kenya" and "wants to be the black FDR."

he is a sick M F'er, but free speech and all that crap, ya know??

I don't dispute his free speech rights, what I do wonder is why his followers support this racist.

He has First Amendment rights [to a degree, of course], to say what he likes, and people have the right to make him face the consequences of his racist talk.

I think he remains popular because many of his listeners are racist as well and have no problem with the vomit he discharges over the air every day.

In a way, it's rather pathetic. This fat-cat media star thinks he's important.

Of course he isn't, in the whole scheme of things, Mr. Obama will be the one who will be remembered in history, and Limbaugh will not be mentioned.

So all his hot air and racist blathering earn him short term attention, fortune, and fame, but in the long run, he'll forgotten.

He's a pox on this country.

Of ALL the quotes you cite Shaw I would say they were racialist in nature but not racist per se. The second one was funny and gave me a chuckle and I haven't listened to the guy in practically years. It's like at work when other workers perceive a black worker is getting away with stuff that they wouldn't - "it's because he's black" - That's a racialist comment (racial in nature) but not necessarily racist and may or may not be true. There's a fine line Shaw is all I'm pointing out.

Z-Man,

You believe Limbaugh's remarks are "racialist?"

Here's a definition of "racialist:"

Definitions of racialist on the Web:

•racist: a person with a prejudiced belief that one race is superior to others
wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn

•Racialism is an emphasis on race or racial considerations.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Racialist

•A believer or advocate of racialism, a theory that race determines human capabilities; A racist
en.wiktionary.org/wiki/racialist

Someone who practices racialism is a racist, just like someone who practices socialism is a socialist.

You've give us a distinction without a difference.

Limbaugh is a racist--he frames all of his criticisms of Mr. Obama in racial terms. It's what a racist does.

He's a racist, and his followers like his racism.

That's my take.

"this splatter of vomitous discharge" - yeah, i kind of like that. And of course the guy is a racist pig, among other things.

Shaw I've heard worse in my day. He might walk up to the edge but imo his comments are racial in nature but not racist per se. Too many times conservatives who oppose affirmative action are labeled racists for example. If you talk about racial matters with some humor (humor always being in the eye of the beholder of course) that does not automatically a racist make. If Chris Rock were white and said some of the things he's famous for he'd be known as a racist, a kind of Andrew Dice Clay but...ah geez Shaw you don't see any gray here??

Let's parse one example shall we?

Limbaugh: Obama "wouldn't have been voted president if he weren't black."

Agree or disagree this is not a racist statement. My own feeling is it's largely true but with this clarification. I believe people who voted for him voted for his intelligence, his articulateness, the policies he enunciated on the campaign trail yada yada BUT it was also that time in our Nation's history when we had the opportunity to make History so seen in this context race was just one factor among several but still a factor. In other words we felt it was time to put an African-American in office but only if he was qualified. The problem is Limbaugh basically took what I just said and put it in a pithy statement and it's those pithy statements that get you in trouble because they lack nuance and come across as blunt.

Limbaughs's comment that Mr. Obama would be a tour guide in Honolulu if it weren't for the fact that he's black is a racist remark. And it's BS. Mr. Obama graduated with honors from one of this nation's most prestigious instsitutions of learning. And he accomplished that without having had a family dynasty to grease his way into that school. Someone smart enough to do that would most certainly NOT end up as a tour guide--a rather menial job. For years, the Black community was seen only in menial jobs on teevee and in the movies. Until the Civil Rights era, those were the only roles Blacks were allowed to be featured in, otherwise the southerners would not abide any entertainment that showed them otherwise.

Z-man: "Too many times conservatives who oppose affirmative action are labeled racists for example."

Yeah. I understand. It's the same thing when people dare to criticize Israel and then end up being called anti-semitic. But that's not what's going on when Limbaugh brings Mr. Obama's race into his broadcasts.

z-man: "If you talk about racial matters with some humor (humor always being in the eye of the beholder of course) that does not automatically a racist make."

The problem with what Limbaugh says about Mr. Obama is that he always brings his race into the discussion. Always. Oh he doesn't come out and actually call him the "N" word, but the undercurrent is there every time he talks about Mr. Obama's father's side of the family or anything to do with the color of his skin. When someone continually does that, it is racism.

Z-man: "If Chris Rock were white and said some of the things he's famous for he'd be known as a racist,"

You do know, Z-man, don't you that when Black comedians use racial language about themselves, it is NOT the same thing as when a white person does. Chris Rock is a minority talking his minority talk about himself and the people he knows. But in the end, this all has to do with power. When the powerful use racial language to demean a minority it is not equivalent to when a minority does.

"..a kind of Andrew Dice Clay but...ah geez Shaw you don't see any gray here??"

No. Why Limbaugh had the need to continually bring up Mr. Obama's race is known only in the deepest caverns of his little malevolent racist heart.

It may be because Limbaugh was a failure at academics, and even though he's made millions by wagging his gums and spreading lies and calumy, he may still feel inadequate and jealous of someone, like Obama, who came from more humble beginnings and reached the heights by dint of his intellect.

Limbaugh will make money; Obama will make history.

Z-man: "Limbaugh: Obama "wouldn't have been voted president if he weren't black."

I disagree that this isn't a racial statement for the very reasons you set out. His race was a very small part of his getting elected. But by focusing on that alone in his statement, that he wouldn't have been elected if he weren't black, Limbaugh puts the emphasis on race. He could have put the focus on his thin resume, his political philosophies, etc. He focused on his race. Again.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's a duck.

Thanks for the discussion.

Just checked my email and found this gem from Limbaugh someone sent me:

"Somebody asked me over the weekend why does somebody earn a lot of money have a lot of money, because she's black. It was Oprah. No, it can't be. Yes, it is.

There's a lot of guilt out there, to show we're not racists, we'll make this person wealthy and big and famous and so forth." --Rush Limbaugh

People watch Oprah because she's Black? Link

But isn't that like saying rednecks listen to Rush because he's fat?

So he even brings the color of Oprah's skin into the discussion because he doesn't believe people watch her and have made her rich and famous because she has a show they like? {I've never watched her show] No. It's only because SHE'S BLACK!!!!

He's a sicko. Why is he going after her??

Z-man said...

2 things and we'll have to agree to disagree. I think Obama's race was a bigger factor in him getting elected than you say BUT he had to still be qualified for the post in the voter's eyes. Ya got a chance to make History, all other factors being equal so why not? As for the Honolulu comment I found it funny but having said that does Limbaugh dwell on race? Now maybe there you have a point Shaw but like I said not having listened to the man in quite some time (I kinda find him boring to be honest) ya know?

Z-man said...

Agreed on one point though, his Oprah comment was stupid. Maybe it's just as well I've avoided him and listen to the music stations instead. Could be the Oxy, he seems mental at times and not just re race. I've read about other comments he's made I think on Pat's blog and...dunno maybe he's still trying to be relevant. He's like yesterday's comedian. When Don Imus referred to Gwen Ifill as a cleaning lady I just found the image funny is all, never got into why he said it. Obama as a tour guide, it's just funny like my Mom once said about the actor Nicholas Cage if he wasn't an actor he'd be working at some tollbooth on the Thruway. Let's say the tour guide comment was the only comment Limbaugh ever made re Obama's race, I don't think we'd be talking about it right now.

Arthurstone said...

Actually it isn't nearly the same as your Mom's remark about Nicholas Cage.

She didn't mention Cage's race. She mentioned his profession and alluded to his family connections.

And why would we even bother to pretend this was the only remark Limbaugh made about the President's race? The reason we're 'talking about it' is because there is an endless list of examples.

Pay attention.
