Why are they holding an all day vote. They made up their minds to impeach trump on January 21, 2017 they were just looking for a reason so why even hold a vote.

Ask a favor with nothing in return is against the constitution yet using your power to block an investigation of an AG who assists in killing a government employee and keeping on an incompetent SS who refused to do her job is fine. Paying 400 million for a hostage in the middle of the night is OK and giving billions to an empire who are sworn enemies of the US deserves no punishment.

After the senate votes to not impeach how long before the next investigation to impeach starts. Will the dems wait for the next day, as they did with the inauguration or will they start the same day.

When people like those here on this blog ignore the facts, democracy doesn’t work.

Why are you removing comments? Why are you INSULTING ME?
I thought that you wanted to have a honest conversation with opinions from others with opposing opinions?
I guess that I had you something other in mind.

Dave Miller said...

Wow... you guys are here early today.

Skud... the Dems, like the GOP before them, have had their sites set on Trump being a 1 term president since the day he took office. But impeachment?

I doubt that has been in any sane Democrats mind since then. It's just too hard, too high a hurdle to pass. But if you are convinced that a president broke his oath to the Constitution, shouldn't you have the courage of your convictions?

Look, I'm willing to say Pres Trump acted improperly yet perhaps doesn't deserve to be impeached, just censured. But the GOP took that option off the table, saying it was impeach Trump or nothing.

So here we are.

The GOP partisans, bloggers and commenters like those here have been very interesting. For years us libs have heard that a person is known by the company he/she keeps. Look at Trumps company. Convicted and/or confessed liars and felons. People all throughout his campaign have been found to have worked with Russia to influence a US election. And yet, even as more and more of his campaign leaders go to jail, those partisans claim Trump knew nothing about any of it.

Because to say otherwise, would implicate him.

Really, what is being said is that he had no idea what all the people around him were doing.

The defense is that trump was too stupid or distracted to know what was going on.

If that's true, aren't folks a little concerned?

Because if that isn't true, then he and his Admin are straight up lying to America.

Are you guys okay with that?

Because you used to say lying disqualified someone from the Oval office.

How times have changed.

Clem, maybe you got removed for not being civil...

Shaw Kenawe said...

Clem, you posted you long comment in the post below this one. And I answered you.

Giuseppe Gonzalez said...

Dave maybe Shaw was not be civil in her original blog, posting all of those opinions as fact.
They aren’t facts they are her op and many of them are not true.

Giuseppe Gonzalez said...

Do you call Shaw’s original blog Civil?
It’s filled with propaganda, and opinions.
And she Insults everyone that doesn’t shy with her!

Shaw Kenawe said...

Giuseppe, I try very hard to back up what I put here with evidence or the original source.

You obviously don't read my blog very often.

PS. Clem commented in the wrong post, the post below this, and when he didn't find his comment, he assumed I deleted it. Wrong. His comment is in the post below this one.

Giuseppe Gonzalez said...

I meant AGREE. Not ”shy”.
That was auto correct.

Giuseppe Gonzalez said...

I’m done here

Shaw Kenawe said...

Giuseppe, this blog post is about the historical impeachment happening today.

Both of your comments do not address the subject. You've got one more chance to join the discussion about impeachment, not about how I run my blog.

You and Clem and Steve and Lady G. and skudrunner are all here, aren't you? Yes.

The Mother Ship run by Z doesn't allow any opposing opinionss and blocks all opposition commenters.

Most of the right wingers blogs block or delete anything that doesn't align with their odd way of thinking. The few who don't do that are, imo, wastelands for people with too much time and not enough life to deal with. I honestly don't know how RN and Ducky put up with the constant attacks and juvenile name-calling from the radical rightie kooks on those blogs. No way I will waste any time on them as I deem them too far gone.
I'm more than impressed by the Democratic party's handling of the impeachment of the orange blob. Of course EVERY single Republiclown is singing the same tired and disproven lines over and over again. "The Democrats have been impeaching him since the election" "The funds were released without any investigation into the Bidens." A. Absurd nonsense only the ignorant righties could believe and B. So because the blob got caught and had to abandon his blackmailing of the Ukraine, that makes it all okay? How about if I try to steal your car and don't wuite get out of the driveway before being caught? I haven't gotten anything so I didn't break the law, right?
They are maddening in their obtuseness and utter hypocrisy.

Shaw Kenawe said...

BlueBull 700 historians have gone on record saying Trump should be impeached. But as long as Trump's cultists in the Senate and the 40 percenters in the country who support him are loud and persistent enough, Trump will be acquitted of high crimes and misdemeanors and, IMO, a betrayal of his country.

I'd like to hear from a Trumper how they could possibly believe anything good could come from a man who was a known liar, cheat, and fraud. And ignorant of how our Constitution works. He's a natural authoritarian who wants no one to disagree with him and everyone to worship him.

HOLY SH!t! Now the Trumpublicans are comparing Trump to Jesus Christ!

"Before you take this historic vote today, one week before Christmas, I want you to keep this in mind," Loudermilk said. "When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers. During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than the Democrats have afforded this president and this process."

Pilate was a Roman official who oversaw Jesus' trial and ordered his crucifixion."

The only thing Trump and Christ have in common is that they both hung out with prostitutes.

Jesus did it to show humility and forgiveness. Trump did it for another reason, and it wasn't saintly!

The Shadow said...

Are the 2 comments above about the historical impeachment happening today.? I think not!

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... I wonder if Giuseppe would consider Sean Hannity uncivil? He himself calls his show opinion.

But for the fact needing folks, here they are.

President Trump on the White House Lawn, asked the Chinese government for help investigating political rivals. On the infamous phone call, he never mentioned corruption, and only asked Pres Zelenski to investigate Joe Biden.

The relevant question is this, one which no Republican, conservative or GOP member will answer...

Is it wrong for a president to ask a foreign government to get involved in an American election.

It's such a simple question one must wonder why we can't get a straight yes, or no, out of anyone like Skud, Giuseppe, Clem or any other Trump supporter.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The Shadow, to answer your question, yes. Both of the comments are discussing what's going on during the impeachment proceedings.

BlueBull reiterated the fact that Trump withheld Congressionally authorized funds to Ukraine until he got Zelensky to investigate Biden. Trump released the funds only when he realized Congress learned about it. This is part of the impeachment evidence.

Doctor Tomato quoted what was said on the floor of the House today during the impeachment proceedings.

So yes, they are about today's impeachment of Donald J. Trump.

The Shadow said...

Hey Dsve, I’m just wondering if you t that Shaw is “Civi” when she INSULTS everyone that comes here to comment abo som that she doesn’t agree with. Or someone who is a Tro supporter?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, Trump got caught committing a crime. Period. And his cultists want to keep him in the WH for Gawd only knows what reason, it certainly can't be because he bring honor and admiration on their party.

He's mocked around the world and at home.

No one will honestly answer your question. Because what Trump did was a crime against the Constitution. He betrayed America.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The Shadow, IIRC, you're a regular over at WYD. That blog has insulted Dave Miller and every non-Trumpian that comments there. I think you shouldn't be thowing stones at me.

Clem Kadiddlehopper said...

Dave we are not discussing Sean Hannity. I’m talk ab the fact that she Insulted me earlier today.

The Shadow said...

Did I insult Dave? Or anyone else?
I don’t t so. And I’m not throwing stones, I’m stating facts.

skudrunner said...

He is disliked or mocked around the world is one of your often used phrases. It is no wonder he is disliked by other "leaders". He pulls out of the worthless paris accord, asks other countries to pay their share of NATO, wants tariffs to be just, doesn't support the government backed theft of intellectual properties and calls the worthless, worthless be it in the US or abroad. I don't like the way he does things but I do like a lot of what he does. If he wins the next election it will really be interesting.

I am on this site on occasion and some of my opinions Ms Shaw does not agree with but she does let me voice them, the same goes for David, AKA the Rev. She voices a good argument for her stance even though she is normally wrong. The others not so much but although I get a fair share of attacks on my always correct views I am allowed to voice them so fairness goes both ways.

The Shadow said...

Meanwhile tonight there is a Arena packed with over 20,000 people inside Sunrise, Florida. Thousands more on the outside that couldn’t get in. To rally behind P Trump.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The Shadow You've left 4 comment. 3 are about me and how I run my blog, the 4th is about a Trump rally. None are about impeachment.

Dave Miller said...

Clem... you equated opinion with incivility. If Shaw's opinion is considered uncivil, is everyone's?

As for you getting insulted, disagreeing with you is not insulting you. Stating facts to refute your opinions is not insulting. It's difficult to accept, I'll give you that.

Shadow, Shaw did not say you insulted me. She simply stated facts about how non believers are insulted at WYD and for that matter, where ever else Franco shows up. He's a walking insult machine towards people with whom he disagrees.

Skud... and they charge me with hubris... your always correct views?"

That's rich.

Dave Miller said...

BTW Clem, Shadow, Skud Giuseppe... the question before us is this...

Is it wrong for a president to ask a foreign government to get involved in an American election?

Any thoughts? It's a simple yes, or no answerable question.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Speaking of impeachment, here's some history from 2008:

The Hill: "Blitzer resurfaces 2008 interview of Trump saying Pelosi should have impeached Bush"

skudrunner said...

The question Rev is did he ask for a foreign government to get involved in an election. Some believe he did not some believe he did. Did the pants suit ask for a foreign government to get involved in an election by using them to spy on trump. Neither side is innocent of wrongdoing but only one is being punished. And as always my view is correct.
The biggest problems with republicans is the don't own the media and the democrats do. The majority of people form opinions off of what they are told and the media pushes hate trump all day every day.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The question Rev is did he ask for a foreign government to get involved in an election.

The answer is YES! skud. Haven't you listened to the first-hand testimonies?

If Hillary did that, shame. But SHE WAS NOT THE POTUS IF SHE DID THAT. You seem not to understand that VERY important fact and why that fact is so important.

TRUMP WAS THE POTUS when he asked a foreign leader to interfere in our election so he could cheat to win.

Trump is on video asking Ukraine and China to interfere. You and your fellow GOPers watch too much FAUX and listen to too much Rush.

The Shadow said...

By George I think you’ve got it

anymouse said...

Hmmm, based on the multiple typos, I think we all know who the "Shadow" and "Clem" is. IS because I'm sure they're one and the same.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... nice dodge, but you didn't answer the question. Take Trump out of it. Is it wrong for a president to ask a foreign government to get involved in an American election?

It's a simple yes or no question.

But let me ask another question...

Why was there not one Republican today in the well of the House saying Trump is a "good man", "a man with his character would never have done such a thing" or "President Trump never asked a foreign government for help."

Ask yourself why that was? Why did not one Republican step forward and defend the president against the charges, as opposed to the process?

Why?
