To repeat for the THIRD time:
The allegations by Tara Reade should be taken seriously and investigated.
Not one GOPer, including skudrunner ever stated that about the allegations against Trump. But skud, like the other hypocrites in the GOP keeps coming here talking about Biden.
When allegations of sexual assault are made by a woman they should be taken seriously & investigated. This is true for the allegations against Biden, but also for the 20+ women who’ve come forward with credible allegations of assault by Trump. The same standards must be used, and must be applied by the press.
Stories on Biden should be at least matched by stories on Trump. Actually, it should not be equal. One has one allegation. The other has more than 20. And those include rape of a child, plus voyeurism of children.
Trumper KNEW about the allegations against Trump and Trump even bragged about how he liked to sexually assault women because he's a star.
No GOPer gets to post anything about Biden since the Republican Party has no problem with men who are sexual predators. They even believe those sort of men are good Christians and make great presidents.
Shaw... I don't know what to make of the Biden allegations. But true or not, I believe the Dems, and many of the women under consideration for the VP slot, have a real dilemma.
When you make declarative statements, as the #MeToo movement and many other activists have done, it sets you up for a debacle when one of your own gets accused. For years we've heard that women are to be heard and believed but now, not so much.
The silence of groups like NARAL and other like groups in regards to Biden is a real mess.
I don't see how Joe, who already has some touchy feely baggage continues.
Look for a draft movement if this gets dicier than it already is.
Granted, Rubin is a "Never Trumper" but let's not suggest she is some liberal progressive commie America hater. She has a good take here on the Biden accusation.

"Touchy feely" is not the same as sexual assault. Period. And Trump has been accused of doing EXACTLY what Tara Reade accused Biden of doing by more than one woman.

We need to see the evidence that Reade claims exists on this, i.e., a written report in the Congressional archives. We need EVIDENCE.
I've never believed that an accusation alone is enough. Corrobration, evidence, etc. is needed. That sort of evidence was brought forth in the Kavanaugh sexual assault hearings and , as Rubin pointed out, Kavanaugh was NOT transparent.
And Trump has dealt with the 20+ accusations (as well as the rape of a child) by saying they're all lying.
Biden has done the right thing; let's see what the evidence shows.
Assuming that a sexual harassment report was filed by Reade, I understand she claims a report was filed, the reasonable assumption would be there was nothing to the allegations filed. Biden himself has asked the archived report (if it exists) to be released. Based on Biden's level of transparency my bet is on his innocence. You are right that this should be revisited (reinvestigated if necessary). Just because the hypocrotical amoral GOP plays cover-up and or ignore does not justify the democratic party doing the same. Ethics, principals, integrity, and mirals do matter. A great deal. Dems should be above the corruption and hypocrisy of the GOP and trumpers.

Shaw... David Axelrod makes a good point as it relates to Biden. It's basically this... Biden was vetted by the incoming Obama Admin in 2008. They found nothing amiss, and it should be noted, no one from the GOP brought it up either.
If what she says is true, I have to assume her friends knew it in 2008, as well as now, in 2020.
Why not bring it up then when he was set to be one heartbeat away from the presidency.
My beef, as it was during the Clinton follies, was that the Dems had set up a narrative that they could not survive in, thus making themselves vulnerable to a charge of hypocrisy.

The Republican Party embraced and fully supported Trump who bragged about sexually assaulting women and who said every one of the 20+ women and one child who accused him of sexual assault was lying.
Now comes Kellyanne Conway who says we must believe all women who claim to have been sexually assaulted by powerful men, forgetting that she works for one of the worst offenders.
Trump claimed he wouldn’t have assaulted some of those women because they “weren’t his type”. He didn’t say “I would never do such a horrific thing!” He said they weren’t his type
Now look at Biden. One and only one woman has come forward with a sexual assault complaint, and the question is where was she in 2008 when he was being vetted for veep?
I’m not going to say anything else against her allegation. The facts need to come out.
I will say that the Trumpers should keep their hypocritical mouths shut. They voted for and ardently support a self-reported sexual assaulter who’s been accused BY TWENTY PLUS WOMEN.
That is clear evidence that a man who sexually assaults women is who they believe makes a good Christian and president.
