Trump and Musk are raging that "radical left" news publication Reuters was given a was given a $9 million defense contract in 2018. And Musk's DOGE boys just discovered it!!!
“Reuters was paid millions of dollars by the US government for ‘large scale social deception,’” Musk wrote in a post he’s since pinned to his profile. “That is literally what it says on the purchase order! They’re a total scam. Just wow.”

So, the contract was not a nefarious plot by a Democrat administration run Pentagon, to have Reuters to write nasty articles against Trump, as Musk is suggesting.
The contract, from the TRUMP Pentagon, went to Thomson Reuters Special Services, which is separate from the newsroom, and specializes in countering fraud and cyber threats. That is why it was a DEFENSE contract, that stipulated the mission was to COUNTER ‘large scale social deception."
Just like it says.
Trump and Musk are following the Dictator handbook, which says to prioritize muzzling, slandering and crushing the Free Press.
They already misrepresented payouts to POLITICO and the New York Times by USAID. No, they were not to commission bad articles against Trump either. They were government-wide SUBSCRIPTIONS to special wire news services over the course of 8 YEARS. Including the time TRUMP was President.
And The Associated Press, another international wire news service, was kicked out of the Trump/Musk news conference Tuesday, because it did not refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America", which Trump has decreed ALL news organizations must do. Trump may tell America what to do, but the world will still call it the Gulf of Mexico, as it has been officially named for over 500 years.

(He who had to resign from the Senate because of a photo of him volunteering overseas with the GI USO and ogling at a sleeping starlet) Morality back in the day. A few decades before that we had "the Times They Are A changin' and Bob Dylan. The world's oldest democracy wobbles.
This is like what happened with a friend of mine today. He showed me an article that clearly said opinion, from the Wall Street Journal. He asked me what i thought of the "facts" in the article. I said it was opinion but not fact, something clearly marked on the link he sent me.
Facts and data don't matter to these folks. They claim alternative and false facts. No data can be true if it does not support their views of the world. All information is suspect, giving them free rein to shape and rapidly changing world into whatever narrative they need in the moment.

Explain how all the ppl who just a few years ago were bemoaning a lack of objective, fixed truth as it related to faith and religious issues, no longer even believe those objectives exist.
Except to support their lies, deceptions and misdirections.
