Israeli journalist Barak Ravid, who served as an intelligence officer with the Israeli Defense Forces, told CNN Wednesday that Israel fully expects President Donald Trumpto involve the U.S. in its bombing campaign against Iran.
Is everyone feeling confident? Unless we are all watching a theater production, as some MAGA folks believe, this is the 3:00AM phone call moment every political campaign warns about.
Three leaders all squaring off and not a one of them seen as trust worthy. Put yourself in the shoes of any of them.
Netanyahu gaslit the world after the Hamas government Israel was supporting, staged a horrible attack on thousands of innocents.
Khamenei is Khamenei, a man who will openly kill his own people to stay in power.
And Trump is not a man known for keeping his word, thus his TACO moniker.
Tom Friedman spoke today of the 1991 run up to the first Iraq War, after their invasion of Kuwait.
Jim Baker, whom he was covering, went to speak with Tariq Aziz in Geneva. Aziz was then the Foreign Minister of Iraq.
Baker, Friedman reports, and US stood firm on one position in negotiations with Aziz. Iraq had to unconditionally withdraw from Kuwait or face the military might of the US and the world coalition President Bush was building.
Aziz and Iraq ultimately could not make the deal and the US then led a coalition of 42 countries from around the globe to liberate Kuwait.
Friedman is calling for the Trump Admin to do what President Bush did back then. Take the time to build a coalition to achieve maximum leverage on Iran.
I believe this is exactly what we should do to end the desires of Iran to get a nuclear bomb.
However, we have a problem.
The current US president does not have the capacity to build such a coalition. With reason. Trump is simply not trusted on the international stage. All we have to do is look at the tariff debacle. How can any world leader take Trump at his word and expect him to honor it when the going gets tough?
let me put it another way... would you get in a fox hole with a guy like Trump? Or would you rather have Bush the Elder, the WWII hero?
Add all this to the reality of an unqualified TV Host Sec Def, A DNI Trump has said openly not to listen to and a Sec of State who has no ability to speak for Trump and you begin to see our problem.
This is a disaster of Trump's own making, fully enabled by his unthinking MAGA base.
"For those unconditionally cheering the attacks on Iran, remember that our early strikes in Afghanistan and Iraq were “successful”. But we ended up getting dragged into costly wars that created more terrorists than we killed. The American people haven’t forgotten that."
Les... I'm not so sure. I bet a great majority do not want, under any circumstance for Iran to have offensive nuke capability. The US and our allies have for years said we need to stop it, Trump included.
So if we are going to say it, maybe at some point we have to act?
That's a policy above my brain. I just don't feel confident Trump and Bibi know what they are doing and thinking about the aftermath.
Now, if the Jewish defense establishment and the Jewish peoole would just get rid of the Genocidal Butcher Netanyahu maybe the ME might have a chance for stability for a change.

Trump, the Anti Christ, along with the Butcher of human life Netanyahu may very well be the twin candles of destruction that ignites WW III.
MAGA will be responsible for that they professed they want to avoid.
Hypocritical and delusional defines MAGA and its architect the Anti Christ.

Why aren't the Bibi crowed wearing MIGA baseball caps..the in thing.
Check the temperature inside of Isreal. Betcha half of the country or better wish the Butcher Netanyahu was gone.
Until this country stops supporting the genocide of the Zionist government of Netanyahu there will remain NO change in Middle East tensions.
In other words we are responsible for the tinder box the Middle East has been since 1967.
Our hands are NOT clean.

...
And I'm reminded of the very definition of insanity... doing the same things over and over again while expecting different results
America may just be too entrenched in ignorance to grasp that truth of the above.

Rumours, rumours, rumours
It's hard to justify the arrogance of the USA, Israel, and much of the West's hypocrisy.
I agree. Both are unhinged self righteous demagogue(s) who absolutely don't know what they are doing.
But as I said, the hypocrisy of the West is glaring.
Israel has 90 nuclear warheads, N. Korea 50. Both are troublesome places.
