Trump wants new $250 bill to feature his Fulton County Jail mugshot
President’s supporters try to change law so he can feature on banknote marking America’s 250th birthday
(In a way, I think it would be fitting to have Trump, the only convicted felon and adjudicated sexual assaulter/rapist POTUS, put his mug shot on the US currency to document for posterity that 30% of the American population decided that a corrupt human being and criminal is what they worshipped and chose to represent America!)
NOTE:
In Mandarin Chinese, the number 250 (二百五, pronounced èr bǎi wǔ) is a common slang term that means "stupid person," "idiot," or "simpleton."Using it playfully calls someone a dummy, but it can be more disparaging depending on the tone. Because of this, pricing a product at ¥250 or giving it as a gift is generally avoided in Chinese culture to prevent accidentally insulting someone.

Trump's insatiable lust for self-aggrandizement and for breaking laws is epic.
Federal law allows only deceased people to appear on currency.
Trump administration officials have pressed the office responsible for printing the nation’s money to design a $250 bill featuring the president’s portrait, according to four current and former employees, in what would be the first appearance of a living person on U.S. currency in more than 150 years.
Starting last year, two political appointees at the Treasury Department — U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach and his senior adviser, Mike Brown — repeatedly urged staff at the agency’s Bureau of Engraving and Printing to prepare prototypes of the note, according to the employees, who said the move raised concerns because federal law currently allows only deceased people to appear on bills.
As part of the effort, Beach in August and September provided bureau staff with mock-up designs for the note, including one that shows President Donald Trump’s face in the center of the $250 bill between the signatures of the president and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to one of the employees and records reviewed by The Washington Post.
The artist who said he designed the mock-up told The Post that he had spoken with Trump about it.
From AI:
Donald Trump would be breaking the law if he placed his image on a $250 bill as it is currently designed.
The specific legal hurdles to this proposal include: The Living Person Ban: Federal law (Title 31, Section 5114 of the U.S. Code) explicitly states that only the portraits of deceased individuals may appear on U.S. currency and securities.
This ban has been in place since 1866.
Lack of Authorization: A $250 bill is not currently recognized as a valid, statutorily authorized denomination of U.S. currency.
What needs to happen to make it legal?
For a $250 bill featuring President Trump to become a reality, Congress would need to pass specific legislation. This would require a brand-new law that both authorizes the $250 denomination and creates a specific legal exception for living presidents.
The idea of a $250 bill featuring Trump has been pushed by some administration officials and introduced in Congress via the proposed “Donald J. Trump $250 Bill Act,” but the legislation has not yet passed.
From The Other 98%:
The Treasury just pushed out the director of the currency printing bureau because she refused to put Trump's face on American money before Congress even passed a law allowing it.
Patricia Solimene, a 24-year Army veteran and the bureau's first female director, resisted pressure from Trump appointees Brandon Beach and his aide Mike Brown to fast-track designs for a $250 bill bearing the president's portrait. She was reassigned against her will. Brown now effectively runs the bureau.
A career public servant who said "follow the law" got removed. The people who wanted to break it stayed.
The administration has been pressing the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to design the $250 note since at least last year, in what would be the first time a living person appeared on U.S. currency in over 150 years.
That ban traces back to 1866, when Congress passed a law explicitly barring any living person from appearing on American currency after a Treasury official put his own face on a five-cent note. The Founders themselves rejected the practice as monarchical.
And Trump isn't stopping at the bill. His signature already appears on all newly printed money. His face hangs on a banner over the Justice Department. The Kennedy Center bears his name. So does the U.S. Institute of Peace. There's a commemorative passport, a coin, a National Parks pass.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries put it plainly: "Hard No on a Trump $250 bill. Get over yourself. The upcoming July 4th anniversary is not about a wannabe King."
The Founders went to war over a king who taxed them without consent. We now have a president plastering his face on the institutions those Founders built, and firing the people who say no.
Some things don't need a monarchy to look exactly like one.

I propose trump's mugshot image be emblazoned on every toilet seat in America. A golden reminder of exactly what a pile crap looks like.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
Two thoughts... one, your line about a career public servant losing her job for following the law should really hit home. This is not a case of the law being unjust, as it often was in our treatment of minorities. The mere fact of a law does not make it just, fair or even good law.
But a law tested and honored since our founding, both in practice and later codified by Congress places the burden of change and indeed the reason, on the person or group desiring that change. In this case, POTUS Trump.
Data shows cash use declining over 70% since 1960, so clearly there is no clamor for more paper money. I think we can rightly claim this to be a vanity project, sure to be a budget boondoggle.
But to put the visage of a living, in office president on the bill smacks of the very rejection we see in our founding. None other than George Washington argued that featuring a sitting president's likeness on government money was "too monarchical" and resembled the vanity of British kings, Roman emperors, and European dictators. It's the whole "render unto Cesear" teaching in the Bible.
I would say if the Trump Admin believes we need a $250.00 bill, so be it. But let's feature another image of one of great leaders on the bill. Like John Adams, Thomas Paine, James Madison or even Teddy Roosevelt. Or perhaps better yet, return to the American eagle, or a places like Mount Rushmore and Statue of Liberty.
This act by the Trump Admin however, is nothing more than their "kayfabe" trolling dujour.
It's BS, unserious, vain, currently illegal and disrespectful to the vision of our founding fathers.
Not that any of that matter to Trump and his Only Fans base.
How many people carry $100 bills snd o very few would get a $250. Hundreds are difficult to cash and just take up room. If he wanted a bill a twenty would have been a better choice. They are preparing a sign to display on an island in NY, Statue of Trump will replace the other one.
His ego is really out of control although there is an airport in NYC named after a president so it is not that unusual.
Skud, what you fail to understand is that airports and US currency honor dead POTUSes, not living ones. Trump is demanding honors he hasn’t earned. He truly believes he’s a monarch.
Who carries $100 bills? Everyone in Vegas. And we have since I moved here in the 1970's.
The malignant narcissist and accomplished moron trump LOVES the attention he is able to command.
Why I love that Whoppie refers to him as you know who.
Ms. Shaw, I don't fail to understand anything I just recognize some facts. Why would an egomaniac want something named after him when he was dead and couldn't bask in the glory, certainly not trump. Even though palm beach is not a major airport but fittingly is an airport for the rich so trump fits right in. Also what does this have to do with the $250 currency. If he could he would call this country united trump america instead of United States. His base is falling every day and soon it will be in the teens and even now is below biden's. We just need to get through the next two years so, with the help of the democrats acting in the countries best interest, have wise and acceptable choices.
Dave, Yes you do see a lot on $100 in vegas but outside of sin city a significant number of establishments won't accept them.
Skud... I have to say, you've provided a nice refreshingly honest takedown of Trump. Thank you. Now a question... what's taking the rest of a lot of conservatives in America so long to join you?
Over the years, you've been fairly reticent to criticize Trump directly. But it seems as if something has changed.
BTW... I will never underestimate the Dems ability to screw this up, get elected and then think the electorate has become woke progressivelandia.
Dave... Nothing changed because I have never been a trump supporter and didn't vote for him in 2024. What the trump haters fail to understand is people vote for what is best for them not catch phrases and words.
During the biden years the middle class American was pushed to accept drive by batteries, hire and promote to fill a quota not a qualification, allow men into women's dressing rooms and believe women can be competitive with men in sports.
The Dems had a president who exhibited obvious signs of mental decline and they replaced him with a women who was too word heavy to make any point.
They chose a governor of a corrupt administration who was a good cheerleader but not much else as their VP instead of choosing a smart capable governor because they dislike Jews.
Voters want someone who act in their best interest even if that person is despicable instead of a nice guy/gal who make his ideology and not his performance as his offering.
skud: "...allow men into women's dressing rooms..." That would be something the Republican Party's hero and president is all for, only it wasn't "women's" dressing rooms that Trump barged into, it was the dressing rooms for underage girls. Former Miss Vermont Teen USA, Mariah Billado, said Trump walked in while contestants were changing, according to BuzzFeed News. Several other contestants corroborated her account.
The Republican Party approved of having that sort of disgusting creep be the POTUS and standard bearer of their party. That, also the same creep, Trump, brag about sexually assaulting women, because he's a star.
You call people who are disgusted with that behavior from a POTUS "haters." Most people with even a modicum of moral sensitivity would feel a kind of dislike and revulsion for a man who bragged about sexually assaulting women and barging in on half-naked underage girls to ogle them. But you and others seem only to feel disgust where it concerns trans people, never acknowledging that hetero men are more likely to be perverts because there are more of them in the population!
While the vast majority of hetero/cisgender do not engage in predatory behavior, criminological data shows that sexual violence is statistically most often committed by cisgender men against women.
Trans Women: Trans women are frequently the subject of societal stigma and hypersexualization. Research in gender studies indicates that negative stereotypes often paint trans women as "deceptive" or driven by sexual fetish rather than genuine identity. However, there is no scientific data showing that trans women have higher rates of deviant behavior than the general population.
You still stubbornly will not accept the fact that the Biden administration was in actuality better economically than the current Trump administration.
Trump is by all measures a "despicable" human being and is is NOT acting in the best interests of the American people. You can look this up:
The Biden years saw robust, record-breaking job recovery and growth, significantly surpassing pre-pandemic employment levels. Real Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rebounded exceptionally well, widely outpacing the recovery seen in other G7 nations.
The U.S. economy has performed much better under Democratic presidents than Republican presidents in the modern era. In almost every measure of the U.S. economy including total job growth, unemployment, economic growth, manufacturing job growth, manufacturing investment, small business creation, and contribution to the national debt, economic performance is stronger under Democrats. While there are many factors contributing to these trends, the throughline is clear that Democratic administrations consistently help the U.S. economy perform better than Republican administrations. Your chronic complaints against Democratic presidents and administrations seem to be based on your prejudices, not facts.
MAGA has an aversion to actual facts. So does skud.
