You don't get it. It was always a PR move. Trump still gets the MAGA goodwill for the "offer" that the "nasty Dems who hate them" foiled. It's all a PR win for the Don, and an even better one for the new AG.
He did say period. But the Admin has also said they would comply with the court order. What happens if the SCOTUS, on the appeal already filed, finds for the administration?
Sen Grassley of Iowa has been very explicit in what is needed and I agree...
He stated that President Trump must make an explicit, public commitment to drop the proposed $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" compensation fund.
Other Senators and of course, the Dems are demanding absolute clarity and assurances that the fund will not be resurrected after the current legal and legislative hurdles pass.
So I think it's best to proceed with caution. Because who trusts Trump and his lying Admin?
At this point Possum, yes, they still have immunity from all tax issues prior to May 21, 2026, the date of the original slush fund order. And that's Trump, all his named relatives and his businesses.
"Trust US we are from the government. " It is not like they have never lied to USA before, right? These people are true believers in 'law and order' and would never cheat. One can expect these minions lie, cheat, and steal, then be pardoned as the junta runs to the getaway jet to fly off with their ill gotten gains.
Regardless, no pardons, no immunity, no sanctuary! Use full force of law, national and international to prosecute all members of the family, their minions, and the enablers.
There is no win for a POTUS whose approval numbers are in the low 30s and dropping weekly. As “Ducky” used to say, “He’s down to the seeds and stems.” And I’ve read that the AG is on shaky ground because of all the losses the courts haves handed “El Trumpo.”
Our government never fully disclosed to We the Peope during WW II that American capitalists, in the interests of profit and keeping the capitalist system healthy, actually funded both sides of the war. Nazi Germany and US forces.
Capital and its Profit motive does not concern itself with anything other than profit and driving capital accumulation to the 1%-3% capital class.
He, and his enablers will merely identify a different pathway to grift the 1.87 billion from taxpayers. It will be used in total to support his criminal sycophants and their criminal activities.
Well, we now know what will happen. The $1.776 billion for Trump to direct and potentially hand out to cop beaters, is currently on hold after the Senate refused to actually legislate it. No surprise there.
The immunity from investigation and prosecution for cheating on taxes for not just Trump, but his entire family and his already proven to be fraudulent business operations, are being permitted to move forward.
And to think... just a few days ago it was being said the GOP was finally showing some spine.
Well, as a very many wise sages have accurately alluded to, the nation willingy (and knowingly) welcomed the grifting thief into its living room. His (and Project 2025's) greater extraction of the nation's wealth to the top 1% of society is the responsibility of an electorate to asleep (or stupid) to recognize the handwriting right in front of their very own eyes.

Don't celebrate too quickly. Unless and until we hear the president say it and/or a law is passed, it ain't over. The White House said "for now".
We can all figure out what that means. And, the IRS exemption for all past audits for Trump, all members of his family and his companies still stands.
A good first step. What I want to know, will the trump family still have immunity from IRS audits? When will that get reversed?
They'll simply explore different avenues to grift. It's what trump and his party of grifters do.
Didn't the AG say "Period."

He will probably take his predecessors approach, pardon all family for life from doing anything they have done illegally.
Trump flatly refused to say this issue was dead and resolved. Believe him when he speaks.

Yeah... about as much as a jellyfish.
