GUEST POST BY DAVE MILLER

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

  • Iran had uranium enriched to 4%.
  • IAEA inspectors were busy combing through Iran’s nuclear facilities.
  • US and UN sanctions were wreaking havoc across IRAN.
  • Iran was unable to sell oil internationally.
  • Their economy was in tatters.
  • Iran had agreed to forgo pursuing a nuclear weapon.
  • A coalition of nations including Russia, China, France, Germany, the UK and the EU were allied to monitor enforcement.
  • The Strait of Hormuz was open.
  • President Obama was mocked mercilessly for releasing $1.8 billion dollars that was due Iran by the US because the US reneged on a weapons deal years ago.
  • The Mullahs were in charge.

That was then, this is now.

  • Iran has uranium enriched to over 60%.
  • IAEA inspectors are not allowed in Iran.
  • The crushing sanctions have been reduced or removed.
  • Iran can sell their oil on the world market.
  • Their economy and infrastructure is in tatters.
  • Iran refuses to forgo pursuing a nuclear weapon.
  • There is no world wide coalition allied to confront Iran.
  • The Strait of Hormuz is open, then closed, then open, all at the whim of Iran, creating global shipping chaos.
  • The US is brokering an international reconstruction plan of at least $300 billion in private and regional investments to repair damage from the war and help Iran's economy recover.
  • $100 billion in frozen assets is set to be released to Iran also.
  • The Mullahs are still in charge.

Someone, anyone, please tell me again, why did we go to war with Iran?

Possibly that's what happens when all the federal professionals and experts are fired and replaced with vapid bobbleheads?

Frankly, and honestly, given the genocide of Palestinians by the Zionist state, the war zeal of rhe Zionist state, ts refusal to act with integrity and honesty, I no longer blame Iran and its government for not trusting either the Zionist state OR the USA.

In fact, I now support international sanctions against the Zionist state for its genocide of Palestinians as well as the USA for its complicity.

US and Zionist hegemony must end in the Middle East. For that lies at the core of the violence i the ME today.

Les... about the trustworthiness or steadfastness of Trump and by extension, the US Government.

His Admin told Iran in Trump 1 that the JCPOA had no power and that iran should not trust the US to keep its agreements unless they are ratified by Congress. You can look it up if you want.

Isn't it ironic that now Trump and the MAGA faithful are wondering why the Iranians don't trust us?
