Trump/Pence Logo: We report; You Deride

Did anyone in the Trump campaign think hard and long about this?  Apparently they did.

And they decided the logo is exactly the message they want to send to America.

Read the reviews on this laughable logo.  Trump wants America and the world to know he's a bigly smart guy, but he obviously is too dumb to understand the message that his political logo sends to its viewers.

Plus, Trump had second thoughts about putting Pence on the ticket and, reportedly, tried to wiggle out of the decision.  Now there's something we all look for in a "strong" leader! Not having any confidence in his decisions!

Behold the GOP Trump/Pence logo.  And laugh. Or if you're a Gooper, cry.

Frankly I think the article is as disgusting as the Logo is foolish.

Just call me prudish, which I am not.

But what the H, this is The Year of Absurdity, right?

I'm thinking I'd like to be Rip VanWinkle about now.

I guess Trump is still worried about the image of his little hands.

Jason Easley:

"Trump said in his speech that Pence was his number one choice, but Trump didn’t even want to be seen on stage with the man who he claimed was his preference.

Trump is refusing to campaign with Pence after the announcement, and if actions speak louder than words, Donald Trump is making it clear that he is not a fan of the man who was chosen to be his VP."

Well Trump wanted to back out of having Pence as his VP, so we can see why he wouldn't want to be seen standing near him while Pence gave his acceptance speech.

Trump couldn't even trot out his VP choice without it devolving into chaos.

My God! The Pence Vice President Roll out was a complete disaster! You could tell Trump was uncomfortable with his choice because he took off as soon he introduced Pence and Trump's not going to campaign with him in Indiana? Trump tried to get out of choosing Pence after everyone knew he was the choice. What a disaster. Trump made a mess of this simple part of running for president and his followers think he'll make a great president? Can you say blinders on?

From the Washington Post:

"Mike Pence was a young lawyer on the rise, challenging a longtime Democratic congressman in a Republican-leaning Indiana district.

And then, scandal.

Campaign finance records from the 1990 effort showed that Pence, then 31, had been using political donations to pay the mortgage on his house, his personal credit card bill, groceries, golf tournament fees and car payments for his wife.

The spending had not been illegal at the time. But it stunned voters — and undermined Pence’s strategy to portray the incumbent, Rep. Philip R. Sharp, as tainted by donations from special-interest political action committees.

“It was a brazen act of hypocrisy,” said Billy Linville, who was Sharp’s campaign manager. “It was a bombshell, for sure. . . . Without question, he may well have won the election if it had not been for that.”

Pence’s early stumble proved to be a defining moment, prompting a period of public remorse that helped create the wholesome image many Republicans now say makes him an ideal running mate to counterbalance the bombastic Donald Trump.

In the months after that 1990 defeat, Pence waged a statewide apology tour and disavowed negative campaigning. He told a local reporter that using campaign funds for personal expenses had been “an exercise in naivete.”

Pence’s 1990 race also led to key changes in campaign finance policies. Experts say that subsequent rules passed by the Federal Election Commission barring the use of campaign funds for personal needs were the direct result of ethics concerns raised by Pence’s actions."

Here are some of the statements and positions Pence had has related to LGBT issues:

He said gay couples signaled ‘societal collapse’

He opposed a law that would prohibit discrimination against LGBT people in the workplace

He opposed the repeal of Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell

He rejected the Obama administration directive on transgender bathrooms

Pence is an Evangelical Christian devoted to keeping the LGBT community treated as second-class citizens; and in doing so, invites people to shun and despise them.

Americans overwhelmingly reject what Mike Pence has fought to do to LGBT Americans. Pence is NOT mainstream on these issues, and he's definitely a homophobe.

Well how about that! Pence is the father of campaign finance reform. Not because he wrote the bill, but because he was the cause of the bill being written and passed.

Considering Pence's episode last year, one can understand Trump's lack of enthusiasm. The "God hates fags" crowd despises Pence for backing down to economic pressure against the "We don't serve your kind" law, and everyone else despises him for approving it in the first place.

Still, it's not like The Donald had a lot of options. Not many people want to share a ticket with him for some reason.

After this bungled roll-out, maybe we can still hope Trump will dump Pence for Gingrich, who would at least provide some clash-of-the-ego-titans drama on the ticket.

Heck, if he replaces him with Palin they could even keep the same logo. But it probably wouldn't be a good idea.

A McCain /Palin ticket would have gotten my vote before these 2 morons

The choice of Mike Pence will help Trump and hurt Mrs. Clinton. Watch for it.
