Yeah. Eastwood Was a Smashing Success.

Only we liberals didn't get his incisive humor.

Clint Eastwood Gets Cut From Romney RNC Video

A video mash-up of speakers from last week’s Republican National Convention does not include an appearance from the “mystery RNC speaker,” Clint Eastwood.

The two-and-a-half minute video posted today to the Romney campaign’s YouTube account features former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, VP nominee Paul Ryan and of course, Romney himself, but it leaves out Eastwood’s controversial speech.

Ha!

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend.  And remember who we celebrate:

"Harold Meyerson picks apart claims that the key reason for workers' current situation is a lack of skills and education:
The primary plight of U.S. workers isn’t their lack of skills. It’s their lack of power. With the collapse of unions, which represented a third of the private-sector workforce in the mid-20th century but just 7 percent today, workers simply have no capacity to bargain for their share of the revenue they produce."

Eastwood is not a GOP politician. The video highlights up and coming Republican governors and representatives, not actors.

And Meyerson is spreading the same predictable manure as always. Unions, in collusion with the corporations, bargained themselves right out of all kinds of manufacturing markets. It's why we don't produce much steel anymore.

GM is on the path to bankruptcy, again. Thank the unions (and their corporate co-conspirators)!

Oh c'mon, SF. There's a reason Clint was left out of the one section of the GOP convention that you guys adored--his 82-year old tough guy act. And the reason is that it was AWFUL by everyone's account, except certain groups of GOPers who never take their blinders off.

Nice try at an excuse though.

BTW, when you say Eastwood is not a politician, he certainly played one at the convention.

Too bad: Major FAIL.

You've got quite a Clint Eastwood fixation there, Shaw.

Looks like his performance worked on you and your confreres.

The very fact that you guys keep hammering on this, jumping up and down and stamping your feet, insisting, insisting! that he was a flop is revealing.

Like all good art, Clint has sparked some spirited and entertaining reaction.

Expect the empty chair meme to grow.

SK: That's your way of deflecting the criticism from his awful presentation. It's easy to pretend we're "fixated" on him.

Every time you put up a post on President Obama, does it mean you have a "fixation" on him as well? And that he's "getting" to you and your friends?

SF: "The very fact that you guys keep hammering on this, jumping up and down and stamping your feet, insisting, insisting! that he was a flop is revealing."

SK: No. Not revealing. Just a fact. Even GOPers agree. You, again, try to dismiss it by saying our attention to it means Eastwood "got to us." It's an old trick, but not working this time.

SF: "Like all good art, Clint has sparked some spirited and entertaining reaction."

SK: Not even Romney's people thought very much about the flop. They declined to put even a few seconds of his "good art" in the highlights of the convention.

SF: "Expect the empty chair meme to grow."

SK: It has. It's emblematic of the GOP.

An empty chair.

SF- GM is not heading for bankruptcy and you are an idiot. According to Yahoo Finance, analysts rating for GM are strong buy-6, buy-10,hold-4, under perform-0, sell-0. The mean recommendation on a scale of 1-5 (1=strong buy, 5=strong sell) is 2.0. Apple, the most valuable company in history, is a 1.8. In 2010 it had a net profit of $6,172,000,000 and in 2011 $9,190,000,000.

DNC should include Clint's video given during the Super Bowl praising Obama (government) for saving GM.
Shaw is correct as usual.
The GOP dropped Clint like a hot potato, because the overwhelming consensus is, Clint was embarrassing to the GOP.
The only reason desperate Romney supporters continue to say Clint was great (in the face of the factual opposite) is, that's all they have.
Today's polls show Romney's convention speech was a flop with a majority of Americans, and did not produce a bump in his polls.
It's going to be fun to watch the lying, bigoted GOP lose, badly.

Actually, Eastwood is a politician. He was mayor of Carmel By The Sea, and has served in several appointed positions in the California state government. Of course, the most glaring missing person from the whole convention was the man who was president for eight years, just 3 1/2 years ago. How soon they forget...or want all of us to forget.

Today is not Republicans favorite Holiday.
They don't honor workers.
To them, workers are just a waste product of financial capitalism.
To them, money is more important than people.
