Trump Civil Fraud TrialTrial Will Be the First of Several That Trump Will Face This Year

This morning, in front of the courthouse, Trump said, "You should go after this Attorney General [Lititia James.]"

This should be taken as a threat against her life.

As he has after his other indictments, Trump attacked the case as a politically motivated attempt to waylay his presidential reelection bid.

“Every time they give me a fake indictment, I go up in the polls,” Trump declared.

That's because Trump's cultists admire crooks, cheats, liars, frauds, and rapists.

"Donald Trump is attending this civil proceeding in New York, unlike the last time he was on trial in New York’s civil courts.

He skipped a trial earlier this year where a jury found he sexually assaulted E. Jean Carroll in the mid-1990s, and defamed her after she publicly accused him. The jury awarded Carroll $5 million. Trump hinted he might attend those proceedings, but did not actually show up."

tRump is one egotistical sob that cares about nothing but himself and his overarching need to be worshipped by his subjects.

Yeah, and 70+ million people like his brand of ignorance and sense of superiority.

If this charlatan liar fascist is reelected by this countries eligible voters the country will truly deserve the shit hole he will turn this nation into.

Ray, Les,

Like a good little mobbed-up thug, Donald Trump attacked Judge Engoron when he returned to court after the lunch break:

“This is a judge that should be disbarred...This is a judge that some people say could be charged criminally for what he's doing. He's interfering with an election, and it's a disgrace.”

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... "some people say..."? Really? Who? Anyone besides the clown car ppl?

Anyone with any real legal experience or evidence?

Of course not.

Shaw Kenawe said...

"I think it's very unfair I don't have a jury" -- Trump, who doesn't have a jury because his lawyers elected not to have one.

I'm sure the Trumpers who adore this idiot will never know that his "very best" lawyers forgot to request a jury trial.

Meanwhile, Trump, who knows how to play his marks, pretends he's been denied a jury trial his own lawyers forgot to request.

LOLOLOLOLOL!

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... let's remember, Trump only hires the best people, the best people...

HA!

It's not just that his lawyers didn't ask for a jury trial at all. All they had to do was, wait for it, check the box that said you wanted a jury trial. It was right there in front of them.

But that's what you get when you have to pay lawyers upfront because they know they'll get stiffed otherwise.

Really, how do people defend this guy and somehow blame his and his team's incompetence on the Dems? It's like he's Geraldyne and the "Devil makes him do it".

And they want this guy to be the president...

Shaw Kenawe said...

Yeah.

And skudrunner thinks President Biden is stupid:

skud: "What the republicans fail to grasp is being stupid is not an impeachable event..."

Ray Cranston said...

Trump's lawyer actually checked the box that said "Trial without a jury."

Then trump says it's a disgrace he can't have a jury.

Deny, defy, lie, deflect and project.

That's it. That's all he has.

He incited an insurrection but he’s the victim

I'm not sure how many of you saw the clips of Trump speaking yesterday at the lunch break during the proceedings. I just watched them.

What I saw was a thug, not a president. Even in his darkest days, Richard Nixon made sure to not sully the office. Not Donald Trump. Look, the evidence he craves is on paper. He lied and those lies were fraudulent. And he's been caught red handed.

Because a state Atty General has the receipts.

But whatever your view on his guilt or innocence, or even if he has been railroaded, let me ask you this...

If this was a trial of anyone else, how do you think the judge would react to a person acting as he did?

And if your answer is anything different from he'd be publicly chastised by that judge and he'd be disciplined from the bench in a New York minute, you're living a delusion.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave M., Trump's cultists will never see him the way normal people see him. That's because, of course, they're cultists.

Notice there's never been a mention on the Mother Ship of Trump's 91 felony indictments; Trump's being found liable for rape; and this current civil suit on Trump's fraudulent business transactions. That's because they're cultists.

Those same folks never cease to mention how much they detest Barack Obama for "what he did to this country."

I'm not making this up.

There are millions of people just like them in this country, and those millions are major contributors to the weakening of our democracy by continuing to support Trump.

It is difficult to believe I live in the same country, see the same actions by Trump every day, and know that those millions and millions of Americans support the disgrace that he is.

Dave Dubya said...

Well, one thing has been made clear. We know how Hitler seduced the minds of "good Germans" into the same fanatic loyalty. Play the victim for your cult, feed them lies, and tell them who to blame and hate.

The leader (Fuhrer) will be revered as an infallible defender of white nationalists, who suffer oppression under the "Marxist" brown minorities and their white allies.

The Trump Cult is an American neo-Nazi movement. Nothing less.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... as it relates to Trump and how ppl continue to support him...

After Gens Milley and Kelly shared what they did about what Trump has said, I'm struggling how ex military folks can continue to support him.

It is a cult, or those folks are choosing instead to believe that all those quotes and things attributed to Trump, despite multiple sources, are made up by the "Deep State."

It's mind blowing.

skudrunner said...

Ms. Shaw, just because trump is not fit to be president doesn't mean joey b is. One does not equal the other and a president who releases billions to a declared enemy of the US, wants to give billions to a country so they can protect their border yet won't protect our own border is not fit to be in the job. He should not get another term to continue his destruction. I know the Rev doesn't consider the border open just don't tell the hundreds of thousands who have crossed. I am sure they will return for their trial in five years and NYC is welcoming them so all is good.

Now that RFK Jr may run as a third party at least we may have a choice.

Dave Miller said...

Not sure if anyone is watching this, but here's what's on display...

The GOP, with a majority of the House of Representatives, is unable to seat a Speaker of the House. The United States of America has no one third in line for the presidency because one party is unable to govern.

And that party is the GOP.

Why would any American vote GOP at this point?

They vote to shut down the government. They are unable to maintain a Speaker. They spend millions on a sham impeachment only to have their own leaders and witnesses admit they have no evidence. Their former president is under a gag order for attacking court employees. And of course, that same ex president has been shown to be a rapist, a fraud and is under more than 90 federal indictments.

My gosh, when that group's partisans speak of Founding Fathers rolling over in their graves, this reality should be high on the list.

Shaw Kenawe said...

skudrunner: "Now that RFK Jr may run as a third party at least we may have a choice."

So you're excited by the idea of an ex-heroine addict, a sex-addict, and a conspiracy nut running for and possibly becoming president?

You didn't look into RFK's background did you. YOU who denigrated Barack Obama every chance you got now believes this deeply flawed man, RFK, should lead this country?

Are you serious? YOU and your pals all bring up the fact that Hunter Biden (who is NOT running for the presidency) is an ex-drug addict, but RFK's drug addiction is just fine in his background?

What about his inability to keep his pants on where women are concerned? Does that bother you? He cheated on his wives with hundreds and hundreds of women -- he kept a diary of his liaisons with women. His conspiracy theories have been debunked dozens of times, but he (who has no background in virology) insists he's right.

What are you smoking?

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... re Skud and RFK... anyone who is not "joey b" is better in today's GOP, which holds Skud's vote.

So yes, RFK the drug user, fabulist, conspiracy buff and serial cheater with no political experience seems like a good option. After all, what could go wrong?

skudrunner said...

Never said I would vote for him but at least we have choices. DJT, Joey b, RFK Jr and West. Quite a field but I'm sure your followers will go all in for biden not because he is the best choice but because he is a democrat. I do have to applaud the democrats for staying the course even if it the wrong one. Republicans spend all their time fighting each other.

Shaw Kenawe said...

skud "I do have to applaud the democrats for staying the course even if it the wrong one. Republicans spend all their time fighting each other."

No. Republicans are, at this point, set to re-nominate for the presidency DJT, who incited an insurrection against his own government in order to illegitimately hang onto power; who's facing 91 felony counts; was found liable for rape; and is currently before a judge to find out the amount he will be liable for because of his being found GUILTY of FRAUD in his businesses.

Every rational person on the planet would look at that FACT and determine that the current Republican Party is stark raving mad.

But you come here and make fun of Biden, Pelosi, and other Democrats?

Do you see the problem? If not, you're part of it.

Les Carpenter said...

How about this skud... we might choose President Biden not because he's the best. He isn't and his age is a growing concern. Ss should be tRump's age and cognitive state. So. Here it is, we might chose to vote Biden because he looks to the future not the past and he's better in most ways tha any republican candidate currently in the mix. But will have to wait and see. Maybe Newsome will toss his hat into the mix if progressives put on enough presure. To progressive for me but he's smart, relatively young, and he's noyt President Biden.

skudrunner said...

Ms Shaw, I will assume you do not think having multiple candidates to vote for is a good idea. I would like to have choices maybe not the four mentioned but choices. It has been decades since we have had viable choices instead of the best of the worst. Your buddy barry had an opportunity to be make a difference but he just converted to be a special interest partisan politician. -H- was a horrible choice because she was a horrible person, made BJ look nice. Trump is to consumed by his ego to manage the country and joey b has never accomplished anything in decades of being a politician and now the sun has set on him.

We deserve better.

Total student loan debt that would have been forgiven for millions of Americans:

$400 billion.

Total cost of the Trump tax cuts that largely benefitted the already wealthy (permanent for the billionaires, ending for the middle class in 4 years):

$1.9 trillion.

Dave Miller said...

Shaw... that student loan debt that would have been forgiven, effectively would have been a boon to the economy. With the average payment between 300-600 dollars, that is money that could go to a house payment, new car, food for kids, etc.

Imagine the effect on the economy.

Yes, I get the optics of "letting people off the hook" but so what? We give money out to the well off in every GOP admin, hear their "promises" to invest in workers, give raises, etc and then see it all go into stock buy backs.

Not to mention the debt it adds to our checkbook. Because those tax cuts, despite GOP statements to the contrary, NEVER pay for themselves.

Les Carpenter said...

It's just a mechanism to control and continue with the conditioning. The wealthy and the financial markets are the only beneficiaries.
