Les, America lost its soul when it reelected George Bush after he lied us into a war of aggression, and instituted torture and detention without charges. Our karmic comeuppance has come due. Trump is the final nail in democracy's coffin, proving it can be disintegrated so easily by an alliance with Putin and their tag team of massive industrial scale disinformation. We now have front row seats at the final fall of a republic. I'm grateful to have had a full life when democracy reached its peak. RIP USA.
Come to think of it it should become law that no felon should serve time. As Donald Trump famously said: I cou l d shoot somebody on 5th Avenue NYC and nobody would care. And now, a felon as well as Predisent of the US again.
Yeah Dave, my biggest shame in life, due to ignorance and delusion, was waiting until GWB's 2nd term as president before actually realizing the extreme fascist tendencies that had been germinating during RMN's presidency. And yes, it worsened under RWR. Trump is really the useful idiot the corporate and political fascists were waiting for to turn the country. He has succeeded. I 'm sure the proverbial satan has blessed him.
The promise of America has been lost Dave. I too am thankful I lived and enjoyed the growing benefits and decency that the DEMOCRATIC PARTY deserves the lion's share of credit for.
We're i single i truly would be preparing to move to Bhutan, never to return to the US.

Once a TRULY exceptional nation in ITS potential for good. Under Trump and project 2025's fascist agenda that will no longer be true.

Can't argue with that. What else can one say about a country that chose a convicted criminal and adjudicated rapist who instigated an insurrection against own government to illegally install himself as POTUS, who stole top secret government documents and lied about it, tried to get Georgia's secretary of state to steal votes for him -- all of that criminal activity, plus his misogyny, racism, lying, stealing.
We've hit the absolute bottom. And I don't know how this country will survivie.

But it is curious. In 2020 the election was "rigged" and an insurrection followed Trump's loss. Encouraged by Trump himself.
Same system four years later, Trump wins, and apparently it was a pristine free and fair election.
