IT'S DIFFICULT TO KEEP UP WITH THE DICTATOR:

FACT:   "In Washington, D.C., crime, particularly violent crime, is trending downwards in 2025. Specifically, homicide, sex abuse, assault with a dangerous weapon, and robbery are all lower compared to the same period in 2024. This aligns with a broader trend of declining crime rates in many US cities since 2023."

THERE IS NO "CRIME WAVE" IN DC. TRUMP AND HIS CORRUPT ADMINISTRATION IS LYING TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

"MSNBC puts the actual crime statistics on the screen, and Trump lies and invents imaginary stats about crime surging."

There is no reason for Trump and his corrupt AG to do this, except to punish traditionally blue Washington DC. Trump also promised that he will do the same to other liberal cities as well.

Trump has said nothing about sending the national guard into entire states like Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Arkansas.

What is the #1 crime city in the US?

Do you understand what this convicted criminal and his corrupt DoJ are doing?

Don't you think Trump wants to take over the DC police force so as to eliminate any unwanted evidence that may pop up from the J6 riots that according to the Senate GOP after action investigation included savage beatings of local and Capitol police?

Watched a bit..like a Nuremburg rally. Got nausea after the grinning Hegseth and Bondi nodded in obeisance.. First step in a single state US - Trump's
Tramplevania ? To most a nightmare - to some a dream made in heaven.
Regime, control, revenge. Sick.. Oh, and moving the rounded up DC homeless and sending them far far away - Alcatraz ? Alligator Alley? Greenland? Pasadena? or maybe train the surprised homeless as ICE
agents ?

In Washington, D.C., crime rates, particularly violent crime, have seen a mixed trend recently. Preliminary data from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) (.gov) indicates that violent crime has decreased by 26% this year compared to last year. However, some sources suggest that certain categories like carjackings and armed robberies have been persistent issues.
Certain areas, like Deanwood (Northeast) and Brentwood, are known to have higher crime rates, particularly for robberies and assaults.

So crime rates are down from the numbers posted by biden. This says more about the previous administration lack interest in controlling crime and defunding of the police and non support of ICE.

What I find troubling is trump moving the swell guys picture.

Did anyone else notice how easily it was for Trump to call in the National Guard in DC, but he claimed it was up to Nancy Pelosi to call in the National Guard (it wasn't) while his insurrectionists were beating the hell out of LEOs on J6?

Here's a question for you, skud: Memphis, Tenn., is one of the most crime-ridden cities in the US. And certain red states have some of the worst crime rates in the country. Why is Trump going after D.C. and threatening to do the same ONLY in liberal cities?

Please answer this so I can understand why Trump is interested in crime only in blue cities.

You still obsessing on "defunding the police," but I've never heard you obsess over Trump's MAGAs beating the crap out of LEOs and then Trump pardoning the criminals who did that to them. Several died after the insurrection. Yet, I've never heard you say a word about that. Defunding the police vs. causing their deaths are not comparable.

Defunding is a complex issue:

"The movement to "Defund the Police" gained significant national attention in the wake of the George Floyd protests in 2020. It's a complex idea with various interpretations, but at its core, it advocates for a shift in how communities approach public safety.

Core ideas behind "Defund the Police

Reallocating Funds: The central tenet involves reallocating or redirecting funding away from police departments and towards other community services and initiatives. These services can include education, housing, mental health programs, violence prevention, and other community-based solutions.

Addressing Systemic Issues: Proponents argue that many issues police respond to are social problems, not criminal ones. They believe investing in social services can address the root causes of crime and reduce the need for police intervention, according to the American Civil Liberties Union."

Trump: "Then I will look at New York in a little while… If we need to we'll do the same thing in Chicago. We have an incompetent Governor there. Pritzker is incompetent. His family threw him out of the business."

The Convicted Felon and Adjudicated Sexual Assaulter/Rapist is going to go after crime in Blue cities only.

Did I get that right? Did I hear the Felon & SA who partied for 15 years with America's most notorious child sex traffickers and rapists and who wished Epstein's procurer of children "well" when she was indicted for her heinous crimes -- that guy is going to clean up crime?

Has America gone completely insane?

While you mention your source from the MPD, care to share with us what those other "some sources" are? Also, categories like carjackings and armed robberies are persistent issues in almost every single metropolitan area!! No other President has gone into a city and forced a takeover in the name of "crime prevention", so your mention of "the previous administration lack interest in controlling crime" is disingenuous.

It is not one bit surprising. Trump lies. Then he doubles down and lies some more. It IS what he does best.

Then his loyal whittle sheeple sing his praises to pump up his ever so delicate and feagile ego.

None of this is the least bit suprizing. It is simply the real despicable and deplorable DJT. America's felon president.

What I find troubling is Skud's inability to pull his head out of Trump's ass. He has no problem with Trump praising and pardoning thugs.

I also think he approves of Trump's efforts at being a dictator. Not a peep of complaint or criticism. Just "blame Biden" is the default gripe of both Skud and Trump.

Skud,

Here's a summary of the Biden administration's stance and actions regarding police funding:

Opposing "Defund the Police": Biden has publicly stated that the answer to crime is not to defund the police, but to invest in them.
American Rescue Plan: Funds from the American Rescue Plan have been directed to communities across the country to invest in public safety, including hiring more police officers, avoiding cuts to police budgets, and expanding community violence intervention programs. Over $15 billion has been invested in these areas through the American Rescue Plan.
Budget Proposals: Biden's budget proposals have included requests for increased funding for law enforcement agencies. For example, a 2024 budget document highlighted investments to bolster federal law enforcement capacity and support state, local, and tribal law enforcement and public safety.
Safer America Plan: The President's Safer America Plan aims to protect communities and promote public safety through evidence-informed strategies, including funding for hiring 100,000 additional police officers.

But, please, by all means, IGNORE all of this to keep your head up Trump's ass.

Ms. Shaw, DC is the capital of the US and should be a safe place to visit. It has always been a violent city, as is Memphis, and because it is the center of political corruption and influence it needs to be cleaned up. Ever drive through there at night, it is a scary situation where you don't even stop at traffic lights.
Several died because of the insurrection is a falsehood. It was a riot just like floyds protests and one person died unlike floyds but not because of a shooting or beating.

PL AI was my source which, as you know, compiles from various sources. No other president has had the nerve to tackle DC's violent crime. During the previous administration's rein homicides were 274 or a 36 % increase. It is hard to imagine how difficult it is to be a cop in DC because there are so many factions pulling strings. When there is a rally cry of defuning the police it insults the people who are trying to make our lives safer. Perception is reality.

You obviously believe Trump's propaganda. That's on you.

But this is who he is:

"Jared Wise, a former FBI agent, was among those charged in connection with the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. Police body camera footage shows Wise shouting "Kill 'em," and encouraging others to kill police officers during the riot.

Wise was on trial facing charges including civil disorder and aiding and abetting an assault on police, when he was pardoned by President Donald Trump as part of a mass clemency for January 6 defendants.

Following the pardon, Wise's case was dismissed, and he was hired by the Department of Justice as a senior adviser in the Office of the Deputy Attorney General. In this role, he has reportedly been involved in reviewing alleged "weaponization" of law enforcement. "

It is difficult for me and a lot of other Americans to take Donald Trump seriously as a man concerned with crime.

Trump has committed crimes his entire life, he pardoned a man who encouraged insurrectionists to "kill the police." (This would appear to be a bit more serious than "defunding the police," n'est pas?

Trump is a convicted criminal and an adjudicated sexual assaulter who was very close friends with a man and woman who raped children. It is unclear, because the truth is being hidden, whether or not Trump engaged in any crime while he was a close friend of Epstein, while Epstein was trafficking children for powerful rich men to rape.

Trump is the absolute LAST person anyone with any honor or sense would look to for eliminating crime, when he is a living legend of a corrupt, lying criminal himself.

As to your claim that no LEOs died from the J6 insurrection:

"Yes, a law enforcement officer died following the January 6th attack. While five people died within 36 hours of the attack, only one was a law enforcement officer. That officer, who was assaulted by rioters and later suffered a stroke, died the day after the attack. Additionally, four officers who responded to the attack died by suicide within seven months. "
