When the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States of America makes a statement like the one quoted below, it should chill the blood of every American who cherishes our Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the rule of law.
Mike Johnson has betrayed his oath of office and showed us that he doesn't know what it means to be an American and to believe in the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. Does he even know what it is?
The First Amendment gives Americans the right to protest and assemble, and it prohibits the government from abridging the right of people to assemble peacefully for social, economic, political, or religious goals.
When one hears Johnson attacking Americans, implying they're enemies of the state for exercising their Constitutional rights, one wonders who Johnson is actually loyal to. It appears he's chosen a convicted felon/sexual assaulter, and friend of notorious pedophiles over the U.S. Constitution, and it also appears that he's sworn an oath to a man, not the rule of law, which is guaranteed to every American by our Constitution
History will harshly judge Johnson and deliver to him the resounding ignominy he so richly deserves.

I planned on responding to skud's diatribe on the previous post but why? Their comment on how they focus on results while our blog host focuses on feeling good was so classic skud that anything I said to them would be misinterpreted (deliberately I'm beginning to believe) so I decided it wasn't worth the effort.
I will say their condescension is getting so very old. Only thing they didn't do is pat Shaw on the head and tell her she's a good girl. UGH, save me from mediocre humans who think they are all that and a bag of chips. skud, ya' ain't even a happy meal, just saying.
And that segues right into ole Moses Mike aka Speaker Johnson.
Dude won't swear in the new Democratic Rep even though he told her she could be sworn in whenever she wanted, an offer he quickly yanked back because... Oh yeah, she's the final signature needed to finalize the House Democrats push to release the Epstein files.
And now, he's in the news again because his shorts are in a bunch due to citizens exercising their First Amendment Rights to protest. He, like other MAGA loyalists, have been flooding the airwaves fear mongering about how Antifa is coming and it's a terrorist organization and all that participate are paid to be there... It would be laughable if their motivations hadn't been revealed by their Project 2025 helpful read along 'How to Fascist' guide.
Kids are on top of all this, leading classes on how to avoid the guaranteed provocations to be violent, showing up with medical care in case tear gas is used, making sure infiltrators are exposed so they don't give the rest of the protest a bad name.
And instead of witnessing all this civic awareness and saying, hey, we could use someone with those skills, they are dismissing it all as paid protest and performative in nature.
It takes only 3.5% of a population to get real change moving. Last No Kings protest there were 5 million of our fellow citizens who got out and marched and that was before tariffs, DOGE layoffs, and the governmental shutdown. There are at least a million more of our fellow citizens with nothing left to lose so wow, let's see how many of us turn out!
Also - if Antifa is an organization as MAGA politicians and our trolls here claim where is their office? Web site? What are the membership dues? OK, an easy one, what are their goals?
If you've no answers for any of my questions then perhaps Antifa isn't what the MAGA loyalists say it is and is instead an ideology as it always was and has been.
