How are mere mortals to compete with such fantastical creations? It makes one, no matter how clever and talented, feel small and inadequate, somehow in comparison. To be effortlessly surpassed by ego-less machines, and have own own egos crushed in turn. What are we to do?
The Left has always preached the need for "equality". I think we're about to find out what that really means in terms of our future relationship to AI.
What do the words, “ with liberty and justice for all” in the Pledge of Allegiance mean to you and other MAGA who oppose the “E” in DEI?
What about “ E pluribus unum” which will be on the Trump dollar coin? What does that mean to MAGA, who oppose the “I” in DEI?
“…and crown thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea.” Refers to our diverse population — our brotherhood. I suppose MAGA should avoid singing those words that reference our diversity as well?
The demonization of the concept of DEI is, IMO, a rejection of our basic American aspirations. We don’t always live up to them, but we believe in them.
Shaw, when one listens to Miller, Johnson, Musk, Christian Nationalists, and the host of anti American fascists now shaping policy in the federal government, law enforcement, and the courts it has become increasingly clear that the American dream, the American ideals that gave the people of this nation and indeed the world hope for a better brighter future are dead. Or, in the very least, dying.
Trump is merely the ignorant head of the symptom, no, the cancer that IS destroying any hope for a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive society. MAGA and Christian Nationalism, in my view represents the greatest evil in the world. Right up there with Zionism.
As an aging, soon to be gone from this life male form, I am so thankful I will not be subjected for much longer to the evils percolating in the authoritarian fascist and capitalist corporate minds now controlling this nation and fundamentally changing it for the worse.
America did this to itself. Hopefully future generations will have the wisdom to reverse the trend and actually find the light that has always been available to all. You really don't get the concept of race non-essentialism, Shaw. Your Party has been "selectively racist" for far too long to understand what it would take to realize MLK Jrs. Dream. Equity is Equality under the law. Not affirmative racism to benefit "some". Not affirmative racism as compensation for past "sins". of some. It's to make race a non-essential part on one's own identity, or one's "group" identity. Unfortunately, race has always been an "essential part" of the Democratic Party's group "identity".
