From Steve Schmidt's Twitter account:

Thank you to Dave Miller for your guest post. It stimulated good conversation.

Today's post is taken from Steve Schmidt's Twitter account, and I hope it too will stimulate a good conversation.

(I had a medical procedure last Wednesday, and I'm still recovering. It was successful, and I'm happy to say I'm healthy and on the mend.) I appreciate Dave's contribution, and I'm glad to be able to post this Tweet by Schmidt:

STEVE SCHMIDT:

@LindseyGrahamSC has proposed a 15 week National abortion ban. No doubt this will make abortion a Federal crime. MD’s and women all over America will likely be criminally charged under the plan for having procedures that will become illegal even though they aren’t abortions.

2/ Enforcement will cost a great deal of money. Tracking women and investigating them when anonymous murder accusations are made against them is a titanic project. The bounty system in a state like Texas will become a national model applied against foreign travel. from Yahoo Mail for iPhone

3/ All of this will require the largest reorganization of government since the birth of Homeland Security after 9/11. Fairness requires that men be called upon to play a role. Since all of this insanity is being made up by extremists as we speak, it’s fair to ponder the how?

4/ Most of the new government agencies under the @LindseyGrahamSC 1st Trimester +3 abortion ban will be focused on tracking, measuring and monitoring women. Investigating miscarriages will likely be more expensive than counterterrorism investigations. New agencies will be created

5/ Since government will expand there should be a debate around how far. Specifically, could it reach as far as the penis? For example, imagine applying the doctrine of preemptive war to the Lindsey Ban. Shouldn’t this ban start at ejaculation, if not earlier?

6/ Perhaps it should all be recorded and registered on state issued devices that can monitor all the various discharge circumstances for the most precise reporting to the government by an individual ejaculator to help narrow the circumference and cost of female monitoring.

7/ It’s a brave new world and it will require new agencies and departments. Who knew the peeping Tom would turn out to be a man named Lindsey in an Uncle Sam outfit? There is an alternative to all of this insanity. Here it is: 👇

8/ Rise up against this. Stop it cold. VOTE. Ending this madness is in the hands of the American people and it is time to assert the national character which is this, “Don’t tell me what to do”

 VOTE !

We live in America not Saudi Arabia. Enough. Back off. Not interested.

Louisiana woman forced to leave state to get an abortion:

"Davis was about 10 weeks pregnant in late July when an ultrasound at Woman’s hospital in Baton Rouge, Louisiana’s capital, showed that her fetus was missing the top of its skull, a rare but fatal condition known as acrania that kills babies within days – and sometimes minutes – of birth.

Louisiana’s abortion ban contains a general exception for fetuses that cannot survive outside their mothers’ wombs, and the law’s author – state senator Katrina Jackson – has insisted that Davis could have legally obtained an abortion without having to go across the country.

But Louisiana’s list of conditions justifying an exception from the state’s abortion ban did not explicitly include acrania. So officials at the hospital where Davis had her ultrasound refused to provide an abortion for her, apparently fearing that they could be exposed to prison time, fines and forfeiture of their licenses to practice if they performed the procedure.

“Basically … I [would have] to carry my baby to bury my baby,” Davis has previously said.

After Davis spoke out in the media about her ordeal, more than a thousand people donated nearly $40,000 to an online GoFundMe campaign for Davis to travel to a state where it was certain that she could legally get an abortion. She had initially planned to go to North Carolina, but during a brief telephone conversation on Tuesday, she said she ended up going to a Planned Parenthood facility in Manhattan.

Davis is only one member of a group of women or girls who have been forced to take gut-wrenching actions in the aftermath of the elimination of nationwide abortion rights.

A Florida court recently blocked a pregnant 16-year-old girl from having an abortion, deeming her too immature to decide whether she should have an abortion and instead requiring the teenager to give birth to a baby."

We are, beyond the shadow of doubt, the major cause of all our problems.

Since Trumpublicans have morphed into an organization to make any dictator proud to claim as his own, the nation is presently under assault from a bunch of zombies following a narcissistic asshole who cares nothing about anyone or anything unless it they or it directly benefit him.

American republicans, oops, correction, Trumpublicans are working feverously to compete with the Muslims they so hate. Trumpublicans (those who blindly support Trump and his agenda) obviously want to turn this country into a theocracy ruled by the bullshit in a book written 2-4 millenniums ago.

This nation has never been a Christian nation and that is exactly as the Founding Fathers set it up. Those folks who pray for a Christian Theocracy and extol the Founders seem not to have a goddamn clue about much of anything when it comes to history. Oh, that's right, Trump spoke to that when he stated firmly and unequivocally that He Loves Uneducated People.

And, so here we are.
