TRUMP COULDN'T REMEMBER THAT HE APPOINTED JEROME POWELL TO HEAD THE FED

Trump was accused of ‘slowly losing it’ as latest signs of ‘dementia’ unravel sparking health worries

"The president forgot names, showed confusion over who was with him at the event, and appeared to fabricate stories that could not possibly be true.

Donald Trump claimed his uncle had taught the future Unabomber at MIT, despite the domestic terrorist never having attended the university.

President Donald Trump's cognitive decline was called back into question during a rambling speech in Pittsburgh Tuesday, during which he forgot names and told stories that were very unlikely to be true.

At one point, however, he claimed that his uncle, a physicist who helped create radar systems during World War II, taught future "Unabomber" terrorist Theodore Kaczynski at MIT, none of which had actually happened.

Kaczynski never attended MIT, but rather received degrees from Harvard and the University of Michigan. Even if John Trump had once crossed paths with Kaczynski, he could not have known he would commit 16 bomb attacks between 1971 and 1995, as John Trump died in 1985, years before he was identified as the Unabomber.

He also forgot who from his team had come with him on the trip to Pittsburgh, mistakenly gesturing to Representative for Pennsylvania's 9th Congressional District Dan Meuser, who was not present at the event. “I want to introduce Dan Meuser. Dan Meuser is here,” Trump said. “Where’s Dan?”

During his speech, Trump...also claimed that he had secured $16 trillion in investments in the economy, despite the U.S. economy totally just under $30 trillion.”

And finally, a shocking example of his mental decline:

"...during a rant in which he brutally criticizes Fed Chair Jerome Powell, Trump forgets that he appointed him, saying "I'm surprised he was appointed. I was surprised that Biden put him in."

(Trump appointed Powell on November 2, 2017, and former President Biden reappointed him in May of 2022. Why doesn't Trump's staff insist on prepping him before he goes before cameras and the American people and shows his mental deterioration?

How bad must Trump's mental state be for him NOT TO REMEMBER that he himself appointed Powell?

Where's Jake Tapper now on this egregious show of Trump's failing cognitive abilities?

Do people actually think Trump's in charge? Really?

Waiting (not really) for skud to back his statement that he's just as critical of MAGA as he is of Democrats.

So many podcasts are talking about the deconstruction of one Donald J Trump. He doesn't look good, his makeup can't coverup his complexion issues, his ankles are swollen.... dude does not look good and his mind keeps taking a walk without him attached.

Note about citing sources from another post - when verifying a source please check to ensure the information you rely on wasn't a teaser to sell you something, like a book maybe? If Jake Tapper was really as concerned as he conveys in his book, why didn't he say something earlier? It's a lot like someone watching an arsonist burning down a building but not calling the fire department because the book rights to the insider story will be off the charts. Actually it's not "a lot like" it's exactly this.

I could be wrong but I think I heard Biden extended him. Which could indicate he remembered originally appointing him.

But yeah, the Orange FOTUS certainly is showing ample signs of cognitive decline. Depending how rapidly he unravels we could be seeing him sucking his thumb before the end of his I'll begotten presidency #2.

Trump thought Biden originally appointed Powell AND extended his appointment. How bad does your memory have to be to not remember you appointed this very very important position? Again Trump is showing America. He’s not all there.

Thanks, I’m going to check it out.

Do we really need a president or would we be better off with a monarchy for all celebrations and public appearances. We have a history of having incompetent presidents with egos to large to let professionals run the country.
Obama would be a great monarch because he is loved by all, well almost all. He can speak well and has the appearance of looking like he cares about others.

Look at the last two selections, biden who may go down as worse than carter and trump who doesn't have the temperament to undue the destruction biden caused. He doesn't have enough time because the damage goes to deep to correct in one term.

Is there a Reagan in the wings who can reverse disaster of the previous administration, we can certainly hope.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. As I'm hearing impaired I often mishear things. Even with my hearing aids.

Reagan? LMAO!! The president responsible for the first initial round of ballooning the annual deficits and increasing the national debt.

That and he is the dude who proclaimed that: No republican should ever say a bad thing about another republican. It is Raegan who really is the early, perhaps unwitting architect, of the state of the republican party today. Although I doubt the affable Reagan would support the FOTUS were he alive yet today. But maybe.

And no skud, we DO NOT need or want a frigging Monarch. Although the nutter Christian Nationalists would probably hail such an event. Rule by divine right and all that BS.

We're more likely to end up with a goddamn authoritarian facist dictatorship along the model of Putin's Russia. tRump has been practicing his entire adult life to be a dictator. One without a moral compass or any ethical bearings.

skud: "Is there a Reagan in the wings who can reverse disaster of the previous administration, we can certainly hope."

"Scholarly analysis:

Studies suggest that alleged and actual crime and wrongdoing during the Reagan administration exceeded that of previous presidents, with over 200 individuals facing ethical or criminal investigations between 1980 and 1988.
Other perspectives argue that Reagan himself maintained personal integrity, and that the issues were more about his hands-off leadership style and reliance on advisors."

"Hands-off leadership style and reliance on advisors." What was Reagan doing those 8 years if he wasn't "hands-on?" We all know that he suffered from dementia -- Alzheimer's disease. In fact, according to historians and scholars of the American presidency, Reagan was JUST LIKE WHAT YOU ACCUSE BIDEN OF BEING -- "OUT OF IT" DURING HIS PRESIDENCY! Your partisanship blinds you to facts. And facts are stubborn things. You apparently had no problem with senile disengagement in a president so long as that president has an "R" after his name.

In a previous post, you also claimed that a convicted felon, sexual assaulter, serial adulterer, liar, cheat, and fraudster was the better of the two candidates in the 2024 election -- You preferred the convicted criminal over an officer of the law -- a DA and an attorney general who went after criminal! Unbelievable.

You accused Dave Dubya and me of being "Yellow Dog Democrats," but you've shown yourself to be someone who, in these two cases, believes the criminal president and the cognitively impaired president, who presided over one of the most scandal-ridden administration in post-WWII, are the epitome of good governance!

Breathtaking! Absolutely breathtaking!

Skud,
Please STOP sucking that mushroom as in, "undue the destruction biden caused".

Are you oblivious of Trump's CRIMINAL and violent destruction of our heritage of peaceful transfer of power?

Are you unaware of the fact that thanks to Trump we have unconstitutional "presidential immunity" that lets him be a dictator?

Are you unaware that "equal justice under law" is DEAD??

Are you unaware of the destruction of our rule of law as Trump abuses OUR DOJ to persecute people he hates, or even who disagree with him?

What the hell crime did Chris Krebs commit, besides telling Trump he lost a fair election in 2020. For that "crime against the King" he is being investigated by the FBI without any suspicion of any crime.

THAT is abuse and destruction of our rule of law. It is waste, fraud and abuse from a CRIMINAL president.

Are you unaware of the coming destruction of human lives when millions of American lose healthcare as cancer and medical research is DESTROYED?

Are you really that DUPED by Trump? Show some judgment and dignity for a change.

Shaw,
I've been saying all along Skud is MAGA Trump apologist. And I may be just as correct in calling out his other negative tendencies.

He's more authoritarian than libertarian. His loyalty to Trump screams it out loud.
