And the Party of Trump is going after a legal American citizen because he is on track to become the mayor of one of America's greatest cities, and Trumpers don't like his politics.
House Republicans want to strip Zohran Mamdani of his citizenship — and maybe deport him. That sentence should stop you cold. A sitting state lawmaker, now the frontrunner for New York City mayor, being targeted not for corruption or espionage, but for belonging to the wrong political movement.
The absurdity would almost be laughable if it weren’t so chilling.
Because this isn’t about Mamdani’s paperwork. It’s about the rebirth of a dangerous idea — that citizenship is not a right, but a privilege granted only to the “right kind” of American.
Representatives Randy Fine of Florida and Andy Ogles of Tennessee have asked the Justice Department to investigate Mamdani’s path to naturalization and to consider revoking his citizenship. Ogles even went so far as to post “Deport Mamdani!” — accusing him of being a “communist who will destroy New York.”
Their justification? That Mamdani joined the Democratic Socialists of America, and once called to free the “Holy Land Five,” a group of Palestinian-American charity leaders imprisoned since 2008. In their eyes, that’s enough to make him an “enemy within.”

Now it's instantaneous. Literally as Gazans are dying under the bombs Netanyahu ordered, Vance proclaim it's not happening, the "ceasefire is holding".

For the record, Mamdani is a naturalized American citizen, just like Melania Trump.
Melania Trump was given an Einstein VISA, which is an EB-1A visa, a U.S. immigration pathway for foreign nationals with extraordinary ability in fields like science, arts, education, business, or athletics. Those who earn one must demonstrate sustained national or international acclaim and recognition, either through a one-time major award (like a Nobel or Oscar) or by meeting at least three out of ten specific criteria defined by USCIS.
Here are the criteria for obtaining an Einstein visa.
Melania could qualify as a performer, since modeling is considered a "performing art." But that's it. (And she was NOT a supermodel.)
Melania did NOT meet any other of the qualifications needed for an Einstein visa.
So, she cheated to get one.
As far as we can determine, Melania did not meet those requirements. "Melania Trump was not considered an international supermodel; she was a working model who gained significant media attention after meeting Donald Trump and marrying him. While she had a successful modeling career in Europe and appeared in major magazines like Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and British GQ, she was not at the same tier as supermodels of the era."
How did she get that very special VISA when she did not qualify for one? Also there is evidence that she worked while on a tourist visa:

These jobs occurred during a seven-week window after she first entered the country on a B1/B2 tourist visa in August 1996 and before she was granted an H-1B work visa in October 1996. Tourist visas do not legally permit employment in the U.S.."
It is not a crime to work in the US on a tourist visa, but it is a serious violation of your visa conditions with severe immigration consequences. If Melania Trump were brown and had a Latino name, she (and her anchor baby, Barron) would have been violently rounded up, thrown in a van and deported without due process because what she did was a violation of her visa permit.
And she and whomever got her the Einstein visa broke several immigration laws as well.
Melania Trump was NOT a US citizen when she gave birth to Barron Trump, so technically, he was like an anchor baby.
Melania Trump's parents received their American citizenship through what is known as "chain migration," a process that Trump and his goons want to stop.
These are all facts. Melania Trump got away with cheating the immigration process because she was involved with a rich New York real estate developer who later became POTUS.
Now some MAGAs want to find a way to deport Mamdani but have no interest in looking into the flagrant violations Melania Trump committed on her path to American citizenship.
This is why our system of justice stinks. There's one for the rich and powerful and another for the rest of us.
BTW, what does China and Chinese immigrants have to do with Mamdani?
