The Republicans’ president is a functioning illiterate

Trump knows nothing about American history nor anyone‘s history. There is no one with any kind of education who would have added the word “airports” while speaking about events of the 1800s. That Trump veered off of his written speech and talked about the American revolutionaries seizing airports from the British is further proof that Trump is a functioning illiterate.

 No amount of grandiose parades and speeches can erase the fact that Trump is unfit to be the President of the United States. My 10-year-old grandson is smarter than he is .

A National Park Service volunteer just told me that the tanks & military equipment are all in the closed off perimeter for the president's VIPs and that the general public on the Mall will not be able to see them.

Trump ruins everything he touches

For decades the July 4th celebration in D.C. was a non-partisan event honoring our freedom and patriotism. Not a celebration of military might and WAR. Not a tax payer event, but something for all Americans. THEN CAME IL DUCE-BAG. 

It’s unclear how much the “Salute to America” celebration will cost taxpayers, and the Department of the Interior declined a request from the Post to comment on the cost of the event. Whatever the price tag, it will come at the expense of America’s national parks, which are already severely underfunded.


Trump's idea of celebrating Independence Day is to force tanks, guns, and rockets into the holiday, making it look like a tinpot dictator's military observance of power and might. 

This is not how America honors our independence from a represssive king.

Shame on Trump for spoiling and defiling an all-American holiday with symbols of war and destruction, all with the blessing of the GOP.

He has stolen a national holiday that in the past celebrated our independence - to one that glorifies war and killing - and his ego -- just another campaign rally to preach that gospel of hate and fear and division on the country's dime.

Other than hiring people to design earrings and handbags for her label, what has she done? And how does that qualify her to be among the world's leading diplomats and leaders?

Ivanka, like her father, is impressed with herself and her pseudo skills and knowledge as a international player.

The Trump progeny have no credentials, no experience, and absolutely no reason to be on their daddy's current business trip. Ivanka can certainly stand around and look elegant, just as her brother, Donald Jr., can be expected to say/tweet comments indicating his astounding ignorance, but, other than their questionable "entertainment value," I see no reason whatsoever (as a taxpayer!) to have to foot the bill for these freeloaders as they travel the world. Pretend diplomats? Hardly. Overindulged children, definitely."

Nepotism at its worst, and problem with nepotism is that it is not merit based. Relatives displace better-qualified people. She is not qualified for this. It is not ok for the US to bring along clearly unqualified people to international gatherings only because they are blood relations.
