Kevin McCarthy (R-BENGHAZI!) Admits Benghazi! Investigation Was Nothing More Than a Plot To Hurt Hillary's Campaign For The Presidency

When they're not cheating through gerrymandering to keep their Congressional seats; or when they're not telling the truth but lying about Planned Parenthood, there's one thing the TGOP can alway use to keep their lackeys whipped up into a frenzy of free-floating, spittle-flecked rage:

Their own investigating committees found no cover-up, no wrong-doing on Mrs. Clinton's watch, but that didn't stop the mouth-breathers from repeating their BENGHAZI! slop. And what they've perpetuated is TGOP true propagandist slop -- it smells, it's ugly, and it belongs in a latrine with the rest of their lies and dirty tricks.

After Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) admitted that Republicans lied about the purpose of the Benghazi investigation, several top Democrats are calling out the House Republicans’ abuse of power and calling for an immediate end to the investigation.

Rep. McCarthy got flustered during an interview with Sean Hannity and blew the worst kept political secret in Washington. He admitted that the Benghazi investigation is all about digging up mud on Hillary Clinton.

The ranking member of the Select Committee on Benghazi, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) said, “This stunning concession from Rep. McCarthy reveals the truth that Republicans never dared admit in public: the core Republican goal in establishing the Benghazi Committee was always to damage Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and never to conduct an even-handed search for the facts. It is shameful that Republicans have used this tragedy and the deaths of our fellow Americans for political gain. Republicans have blatantly abused their authority in Congress by spending more than $4.5 million in taxpayer funds to pay for a political campaign against Hillary Clinton.”

I'm shocked, shocked, SHOCKED! I tell you that the TGOP liars would use the deaths of Americans for a smear campaign against Hillary Clinton!

It never occurred to the dimwits in the TGOP that no indictments, no accusations, no nothing was brought against then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. But then again, that particular branch of the TGOP is not known for its critical thinking -- or any sort of thinking at all. If something was against Hillary Clinton, then they were for it, truth be damned, and keep spreading the slop far and wide.

Only this time the presumptive new Speaker of the House shot his sloppy mouth off for all the country to hear. The BENGHAZI! investigations were never about the deaths of those four Americans, they were about getting Hillary.

The thing about the Clintons that these poor benighted people still don't get is that their plans to destroy Hillary will be just as successful at their Whitewater plans were, which is to say, those plans didn't quite work out they way they wanted them to, did they.

The office of Democratic Leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said, “House Republicans were never interested in a bipartisan investigation to improve the security of Americans abroad. They’ve only been interested in pure extremist political theater. Leader McCarthy: the American people don’t want more politically-motivated “select committees” – not to smear presidential candidates, and not to assault women’s health. They want real leadership to confront the challenges we face as a nation.”

Rep. Linda Sanchez (D-CA) called for an immediate end to the Benghazi investigation and for Republicans to apologize to the families of the Benghazi victims, “Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy pulled the curtain back on the true purpose of the Select Committee on Benghazi – not to get the facts – but instead as a political ploy against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

This stunning admission shows a gross misuse of millions in taxpayer dollars for a purely political purpose.

I'm afraid I haven't been fair. Dear me. The one thing the present-day TGOP IS good at:

Spreading total Bullsh*t and getting their followers to believe it.

Simon Maloy @Slate

This is an archetypal example of the Kinsley Gaffe: a politician accidentally uttering a truthful statement. Anyone who’s paid even cursory attention to the GOP’s treatment of the Benghazi attacks will likely have already concluded that the party’s interest in the matter is linked to Hillary Clinton’s presidential ambitions.

But it’s still bracing to see one of the most powerful Republicans in Washington come right out and brag about how he and his colleagues set up a taxpayer-funded investigation to damage the political prospects of the opposition party’s leading presidential candidate.

It’s downright scandalous, and precisely the sort of political corruption that Republicans argue is at the heart of the Obama administration’s response to Benghazi.

No less remarkable is the fact that McCarthy offered up the politicized Benghazi investigation as an “example” of how he would conduct business as Speaker of the House. He just put it right out there and told Sean Hannity that the McCarthy Congress will be a series of investigations aimed at hurting the Democrats’ chances of electoral success.

He’s also impugned what little credibility Benghazi committee chair Trey Gowdy enjoys, and he’s given critics of the committee all the reason they need to trash the committee as a disreputable and untrustworthy exercise in partisan scapegoating.

One Democratic member of the Benghazi committee had already called for the investigation to be shut down, and other Democrats are doing the same in the aftermath of McCarthy’s remarks.

Imagine that and just this morning I learned from an impeccable right wing blog, "and you know how leftwingers are “what they hear, they will believe”".

But they are on to other things. This is out in an article on the "Fiorina video":

"There is no sound on the video. Cunningham has declined to say when the footage was shot, where it came from, or how he acquired it, citing a confidentiality agreement with his sources."

"Paul Holtrop, a neonatologist at Beaumont Health System in Michigan, who has published research on the survival rates for infants who have been resuscitated as early as 22 weeks, agreed that doctors would not attempt to intubate or ventilate a baby born at such an early gestational stage. “Nobody would resuscitate a baby at 17 and a half weeks,” he said. “The future is a certain death.”"

"In an interview Tuesday, Cunningham maintained that it was preposterous for anyone to suggest a fetus at 17 and a half weeks should not get medical treatment, if it showed signs of life outside the womb."

In other words, the views of a political hack trump medical expertise.
But just throw out raw meat to the right wing base. They'll carefully consider anything you say before believing it.

There is one thing they know about their base that we always underestimate: Once a lie, always a lie; and no revelation will dissuade them.

I have seen pictures of a fetus at 20 weeks, he was the baby of my niece, he had a blockage that prevented him from urinating which destroyed his kidneys. My niece had to give birth to him and he died the minute he was born. It wasn't called an abortion, but if the republicans had their way she would have had to carry him to full term then deliver him to watch him die in her arms. He looked like an alien if you want to get graphic, he was about 9 inches long, there is no way you could call him a viable baby able to survive outside the womb.

As for BenGhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazi and the republiscums...when will they put that last nail in the coffin??? Hideous cretins. I'm excited for the election of Hillary in 2016 but not looking forward to her 8 years of fighting off the freaks, frauds, and f***ers....

For sure. But. They can have their own opinions but they can't have their own facts.

They're still trying to sell their lies and distortions. It's not going to work this time.

This perfectly explains their support for people like Sarah Palin and Donald Trump. They always believe the propaganda over facts.

Aren't there laws against using "millions in taxpayer dollars for a purely political purpose"?

Even democrats use propaganda.

Perhaps republicans need to take several pages from the democrat playbook.

Why I have no use for Democrats: LIMP, KNOCK-KNEED WHIMPS!

McCarthy stuck out his chin, and Democrats failed to deliver a knock-out punch. Diplomatic niceties such as "disturbing" just doesn't cut it.

"Abuse of power!" "Betraying the public trust." "McCarthyism" [literally]. "Neo-fascists!" "Ethics violations" [censorship and dismissal following a full Congressional investigation]. Even these are too nice for this scum!

By Tom Watson and Peter Daou

"From the very beginning, the House Select Committee on Benghazi had a mission, and that mission had nothing to do with the facts of the tragedy in Libya, international relations, the use of government email, or even American honor. The goal was always political, cynical, and repugnant: working in partnership with a facile and easily manipulated national media to use the power of the people’s representatives to damage the reputation of Hillary Clinton.

Explicit confirmation came from the Republican who would be the next Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy, the House Majority Leader, who said the following on Sean Hannity’s Fox News program:

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee, a select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping.”

Let that sink in for a moment: Republicans are actually considering electing a man named "McCarthy" to be the Speaker, a man who admits his party is playing politics on the backs of dead Americans to tarnish the character of one of the most prominent women in the world.

You couldn't make it up."

More bad news for deceitful, manipulative TGOPers:

Americans Like Planned Parenthood More Than They Like Politicians

Sixty-one percent of Americans want the government to keep funding the organization.

America is a progressive country, and Americans support progressive ideas like low-cost health care for women, marriage equality, and background checks on gun purchases.

Jeebus! This illiterate would be 2nd in line to the presidency?

He makes Sarah Palin look like Cicero!

He doesn't know how to speak English! And he appears to be embarrassingly stupid!

Where is the Tea Party response to this scandal? *crickets*

They've been exposed as the dirty partisans who used the deaths of Americans to go after a former Secretary of state and presidential candidate. They can't win on the issues, so they cheat, lie, deceive, and spend millions of tax payers money to crush their opponents. What a bunch of gutter dwelling creeps the Tea Party breeds.

They tried to make a scandal out of the Benghazi tragedy, instead they ended up being the scandal themselves.

Lying rats, the lot of them.

Enjoyed the link, RN. I do't believe it usually does anyone any good to point out that the other side is using propaganda or has engaged in a logical fallacy or whatnot. The only way to come out ahead in the argument is to have better story. FDR and his people were very good at telling a good story. Gotta admit that Ronnie was a master too and it never did the Dems any good to point out where the BS was.

That's the reason so many Tea Party supporters are so enraged. They can't accept those facts so they thing by stomping their feet, cheaating by gerrymandering, lying about Benghazi and Planned Parenthood, and supporting a jackass like Trump they'll get Americans tp stop heading in the progressive direction its in.

Boehner did not directly mention McCarthy's remarks, but he rejected the notion that the committee was formed for political reasons.

"This investigation has never been about former Secretary of State Clinton and never will be," he said."

Nice try Johnny boy. But Kevin already let the rat outta the bag. Everyone knows what the Benghazi "investigating committee" is all about. And it has nuttin' to do with truth, especially the Rethuglican version of it.

I just saw on MyFaceSpaceBook (so you KNOW it has to be true) that the BENGHAZI!! Select Committee has now been investigating the bullshit claims longer than the House investigated Watergate, the JFK assassination and Pearl Harbor. And they STILL haven't found shit.
