INSIDE JOB?

From left: Ryan Kelley, Jason Howland, Angela Rigas, Audra Johnson and Jon Rocha — seen here in video footage and social media posts — were at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 to protest an election lost by former President Donald Trump.

"Ryan Kelley climbed on scaffolding, helped a man moving a police barricade and repeatedly waved fellow protesters toward the Capitol riots in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6. Now, he’s running for governor of Michigan.

Kelley’s ally in organizing rallies against pandemic orders in Michigan, Jason Howland, was there that day too, just feet away from a clash between protesters and police. He made it inside the Capitol with hundreds of others, many of whom now face criminal charges.

Howland is now running for state House."

Also at the Washington, D.C. protests were congressional candidates Audra Johnson and Jon Rocha and state House candidate Angela Rigas. They say they weren’t on the front lines of the insurrection and were simply exercising their rights to demonstrate and protest.

They clearly are traitors to our country and anyone who would vote for them obviously want to see America fall. In my book, that makes them all traitors.

Inside job, outside job. Right wing insurrection, Left wing ANTIFA false flag operation.

At this point doesn't matter what one thinks because to get to the bottom of what happened on 1/6, we need a bipartisan, bicameral investigation. A bipartisan, bicameral investigation of the type we had for 9/11.

The US House passed an act to authorize just such an investigation last week. It was, and hold on to your hats GOP partisans, co-written by Republicans and then supported by thirty five GOP Congressmen.

Remember when the GOP characterized two or three Democrats defecting to a GOP bill as "fully bipartisan"? If that was true when they said it back in the day of the Trump Admin, why is that not true today?

And that's where we are today as we wait on the Senate to filibuster that bill.

Look, right now we have one political party in this country, the Democratic Party. They're not perfect by a long shot, but at least they are trying to be serious. They put up solutions that may or may not work. The former Republican Party? They advance little or no legislation to serve the American people.

And when they are needed to investigate the events of 1/6, they remain silent.

If the wingnuts are so sure what happened that day was ANTIFA, left wing tourist aggression, then they should support the legislation passed in bipartisan fashion in the House.

Because that's the only way to get to the bottom of what happened that day.

I mean, if of course stuff like Constitutional Law and the future of Representative Democracy mean anything to you.

Dave, As I've said many times, there is no Republican Party.

You and I have read the dozens of former GOP (it is now the GQP) pundits, pols, writers, and influencers tell us that the present party has been taken over and morphed into a cult of personality. That cult has no vision for the future of America or what we can do to improve our neglected middle and working classes; what we can do for helping Americans with vital health care and pharmaceutical expenses; infrastructure, etc. Those are big, expensive, but vital needs and problems that must be solved and worked on NOW.

We've already lost time and precious treasure trying to deal with 30% of the voting public that is dedicated to conspiracies, alternate realities, and Trump's Big Lie.

The GQP do NOT want bi-partisanship. The GQP want perpetual power; they do not believe Democrats have the right to govern, even when they win the popular vote election after election; and, if not for the GQP's gerrymandering, they'd never be in power again for at least a generation, since the majority of Americans DO NOT FAVOR THE GQP OR TRUMP to govern.

The Democrats are not on an even playing field. Mitch McConnell and the rest of the GQP leadership are EXACTLY Lucy with the football. Every time the Democrats try to work with and accommodate the GQPers, they get right up to the football, and the GQPers pull it away.

The Democrats need to do whatever it takes to get things done, and I don't care if the GQPers are on board with any of it.

Trump is reduced to whining on a platform no one reads and has a grand jury looking to indict him for his business dealings, and the GQP has nincompoops like Marjorie Taylor Greene as the future of their party.

What sane person would want to be associated with the GQP?

I'm a independent, but I think the Republicans are going down the tubes bigtime ! Just my opinion.

Shaw... today the "GOP" did in fact filibuster bipartisan legislation to investigate the events of 1/6.

But there is something else buried in that reality that most of the current crop of "GOP" supporters will be blind to. In addition to preventing a vote through the filibuster, the "GOP" was also able to prevent debate on the legislation.

All these morons claiming "cancel culture" on the part of the Dems are afraid of even debating the merits of this legislation.

Seriously, we can't even talk about it on the Senate floor?

I ask those who vote for these folks, and that includes, Skud, why?

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, forget asking skud.

He'll only talk about "Basement Joey," and "The Swell Guy." He and his pals on the Mother Ship will NEVER face the truth of what they've become.

Think about this long and hard:

The US Capitol -- the heart of our democracy -- was viciously attacked on January 6 (videos exist that proves this beyond a doubt), the purpose was to interfere with Mike Pence, the vice president, certifying the electoral votes as set out in the US Constitution. Donald Trump harangued the throngs that day saying Pence should "do the right thing."

Trump is so embarrassingly stupid about how the US government works, that he's telling his angry throngs that Pence should "do the right thing," which was code for not certifying the e.c. votes, something that he hade no power to do, and yet the Idiot-in-Chief is encouraging his mobs that this must be done or else "you've got to fight!" Trump lied when he told his angry mobs that he'd go with them to the Capitol. As usual, a cowardly little liar.

All of this happened. Our democracy was attacked and the POTUS incited that attack.

And the GQP don't want to know who was behind the attack and who helped the mobs gain the necessary information do carry out this assault on the United States.

All who encouraged and/or participated in the attack on the Capitol are traitors to America.

Shaw...

I've just returned from Mexico where we have our own version of Trump in President Obrador, know there as AMLO.

He's a left wing demagogue, cut from the same "I am right" cloth that has spawned Trump and given rise to the view that only strong "kick ass leaders" can force legitimately elected congressional people to "do the right thing."

While the political positions may change, there is functionally no difference in governing style between people like Trump, AMLO, Bolsonaro, Duterte, Chavez, Maduro and of course Putin. That group believes they and they alone can fix whatever ails their countries.

And it is that attitude that stands in direct opposition to our Constitution.

You're right about Skud. I wouldn't publish a thing from him unless he stands in support of the 1/6 Commission, but that's just me.

Seriously, how can any thinking person who loves America not support even a public debate on whether we should establish that commission?

Skud is a died in the wool trumper. Regardless his protestations to the contrary. His many disingenuous utterances about not being a trumper n I'll withstanding.

Anonymous -- I don't think many if any people believe a word out of that one's big mouth. I learned long ago that he was a proven liar.
