Here's a few other inconvenient facts, as they relate to oil production and US energy independence. All of which runs counter to the current GOP mantra...

The U.S. is now the world’s largest oil producer and needs almost no Saudi oil; as the U.S. has already cut its imports of Saudi oil by over 90% over the last decade to a mere 356,000 barrels a day.

Federal leases under Biden far exceed those under Trump—with 3,557 permits for oil and gas drilling on public lands in Biden’s first year, far outpacing the Trump Administration’s first year total of 2,658, with record numbers of unused leases. That’s the case even though all federal leases combined account for less than 20% of all U.S. oil and gas production.

The U.S. already provides more gas to the EU than Russia did at its peak, and now the EU buys 80% less from Russia than they did before Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

U.S. SPR releases are not political. Every modern president has authorized significant SPR releases, including Donald Trump—who likewise faced attacks from self-serving industry voices. Furthermore countries like Saudi and China maintain their own sizable strategic petroleum reserves from which they released ample supplies at least until this year.

Energy facts? Believe all of the above, because it's true.

Rev, Then why did the president fist bump with SA to get more oil and why does 2 million barrels a day matter. The truth is something none of us knows but it does seem to be a big deal. Biden brags about gas prices being down .50cents after it ran up 2.00, yea. Why is the government selling our strategic oil reserve putting the US at risk. None of this makes any sense except it is election year and they will use anything to appear they care about the American people. I think the fact that there are thousands of leases not being used is a good sign of ignorance of the oil business because a lease means little in the short term. Why not relax ridiculous regulations on the industry. I know the squad would object because all they care about is their cause.

Inflation in Turkey doesn't affect the family of four in Detroit so what does that matter.

Depending on what time period you are looking at, the US is up and down the list but never at the top.

Interesting how conservatives conveniently fail to mention this. Yeah, I know, politics. Where only party and self interest is important.

skud, the myopic vision of conservatives is becoming legendary. Thanks to their convoluted understanding of reality.

Citing other countries are worse off than America won't go far to appease Americans who cannot pay their bills.

No one is trying to "appease" anyone. All we're asking is for people to try and get it through their thick skulls that inflation was not caused by Biden alone and he has done a lot to keep the inflation rate much lower than other countries: https://www.csis.org/analysis/takeaways-president-bidens-supply-chain-plan-2022
