This is what happens...

when politicians, not doctors -- medical experts -- make medical decisions. And it's wrong, wrong, wrong!

The politicians in Texas did this horrendous thing to this woman.

And we can be sure she isn't the only woman (or girl) whose life was put in peril and whose chances at having another pregnancy is in question due to the barbaric anti-abortion laws passed by non-medical politicians who care nothing for anyone's health -- the fetus's or the mother's.

A majority of Americans are AGAINST what the barbarians in Texas did to this woman and her husband:

This is cruel and unusual punishment deliberately inflicted by the minority party in America.

Republicans understand that by banning access to abortion they are denying access to potentially lifesaving medical care for women. They don’t care about the consequences, for them, women dying is a price worth paying.

What does this say to the women in this country? To me it says the Republicans in the anti-abortion states with these drastic laws don't care about the lives of women.

And they definately are not pro-lifers.

TheTexas gop is playing god with people lives and well being. The result is people are suffering, some will die. This in the name of the god they worship.

If women die, the result of the ignorance of the Texas gop abortion stance, those responsible politicians sure as hell should be held accountable. They should face trial, judgment, and prison. Of course they won't. After all, their doing "god's work".

Here's another harrowing story about how a woman almost lost her life because politicians in Oklahoma think they know more than medical doctors:

"Jaci Statton wanted her baby, but the fetus wasn’t developing properly and was dying inside her. If it wasn’t removed from her uterus it might kill her, too. She was experiencing vaginal bleeding, high blood pressure, debilitating cramps, and “intense nausea.”

As reporter Ben Felder wrote for The Oklahoman:

She and her husband first went to a nearby hospital, but — like one-in-six hospital beds in America — it was run to earn money for the Catholic Church and so refused to provide her with any help beyond fluids.

Next up was the hospital at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center but that, too, was a dead end. As Felder reported:

“They said, ‘We can't touch you because of the Oklahoma law,’ Statton recalled the doctors telling her husband, even as they acknowledged the pregnancy posed serious health risks and removing the fetus was the best medical decision.”

To save her life, Jaci’s husband drove her to an abortion clinic in Kansas where she was forced to walk through a gamut of jeering anti-abortion protestors carrying signs proclaiming their followers should “STONE ALL THE WHORES!”

If it seems to you like women in Red states are the subjects of witch hunts, you’re right. And it has nothing to do with “life”: it’s all about economic and political power."

Where are the pro-lifers on these disturbing stories? I never hear a word from them. Ever.

In American red states pro life is but a convient feel good phrase the religionsts use to justify their ignorance and lack of compassionate understanding.

You are absolutely correct Shaw, the bottom line is political and economic power. And, it is disgraceful because in fact it is anti life.

Missouri is trying to pass the same laws. The ACLU has Missouri in court right now.

"Pro-life" is a lie. They are pro-forced birth, nothing more. Anyone who is really pro-life is pro-public healthcare for all.
Con-servatism has always been a sham and scam against progress.

Con-servatism, i love it!

It's not con-servatism and those supportive of its agenda are against social progress. It's just that they don't want it to happen in their lifetimes.
