Award-winning images capture colorful scenes from microscopic world

 


Laurent Formery of the United States captured this global-award-winning image. It shows the nervous system of a juvenile sea star (Patiria miniata). (Laurent Formery/Evident)

Honorable mention also went to Liu Ruming of China who captured pistils of dandelion that had been collected and made into slide samples. Different fluorescence patterns of its parts were observed using confocal microscopy. (Liu Ruming/Evident)
