ANOTHER ONE OF TRUMP'S IDIOTIC AND RECKLESS CABINET NOMINEES IS TANKING

First Gaetz, now this drunken wife beater and sexual assaulter, Hegseth.

Trump is a failed human being who chooses failed human beings to lead America. What a national disgrace!

Why did anyone expect anything better from a convicted felon and adjudicated sexual assaulter/rapist and tax fraudster?

Trump mulls alternatives, including DeSantis, as Hegseth nod teeters

"Hegseth, a former Fox News host and Army veteran, has seen his nomination pushed to the brink in the face of mounting allegations of sexual misconduct, excessive drinking and other controversial behavior in his previous jobs.

Republican senators on Tuesday, during Hegseth’s third round of meetings since last month, questioned his chances of making it through the nomination process, with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) calling some of the allegations against him 'very disturbing.' ”

Oh, and there's this one, too:

"Only 3 days after being chosen as Trump’s nominee to lead the DEA, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister withdrew his name from consideration.

Chronister wasn’t the worst Trump nominee, but he definitely had some big red flags on his resume we were already planning to call out. For example, his billionaire father-in-law was pardoned by Trump for his role in a huge corruption scandal."

When Hegseth’s nomination falls, that’s going to be three failed cabinet appointees before we even make it to inauguration.

So much for a well-oiled machine.

New clowns, same circus.

The simple FACT, not an alternative fact, not a Lisa inspired "false fact" but again, the simple fact is this...

Donald Trump nominated two people, specifically Matt Gaetz and now Pete Hegseth, who never passed a background check to work at the highest levels of the US government, have no experience managing large organizations and are unqualified to handle the jobs to which he nominated them.

Gaetz has pulled his name from consideration and even some of the most MAGA folks [Yo Ho, Yo Ho the Mothership for me] agreed with that decision. Hegseth too will soon be discarded to the ash heap.

What can we say about a President elect who can't, or won't nominate qualified people who have been properly vetted and can the garner support of his own party's Senators?

I think it's this... Donald Trump is a danger to the republic and to our safety.

But that doesn't, and won't matter to his supporters. Because many of them are just not serious people.

You make it sound like presidents select cabinet members for their expertise when in fact it is a political payback for most. Trump wants loyalists not people with opinions because he listens to no one. Biden either went with obama appointees or people who checked a box.
"What can we say about a President elect who can't, or won't nominate qualified people" That's politics. Biden has a few who know what they are doing but the majority are party loyalists who have no experience in the area they are heading but they checked a box.
Trump has a few nominees who know what they are doing but the majority are trump loyalists because he is not part of either party.

Skud... Ambassadors have been selected for political payback. When it comes to the historic Big Three, Sec of State, Defense and DoJ, and lately positions like the NSA, it's hard to look at ppl like Kissinger, Dulles, Clark, Rice, Albright, Holder, Baker, Tillerson, Mattis and more and see them as getting chosen as political favors.

Sure, we'll not always agree, but everyone on that list was seen as a serious player.

No one currently on the Trump list for the most important cabinet positions in the US is a serious person, has the requisite experience and at this point, excepting Rubio, can even pass a background check.

I get you hated everything Biden. But can you name a cabinet nominee of his who failed a background check? Can you name a single White House advisor of his, or any president named Trump who nneded a national security waiver to serve?

I'll save you the time. You can't. Because until Trump was elected, we worked hard to make sure we didn't have people deemed a risk to the US, people who lied on background check info, people who could be easily bribed or compromised working at the highest levels of our government.

I'll deem your BS bothsiderism credible when you show us evidence and links of all the people Presidents Biden, Clinton, Bush, Obama, Reagan, Carter, Ford, Johnson and more appointed to our most important cabinet positions who were as problematic as the lot of Trump's nominees.

We don't need smart "splaining" to us about political appts. All we have to do is listen to the Brits, our most trusted ally in the world when they say they are pulling back on shared intelligence with the US already, fearing the carelessness of Trump.

The president who outed to the Russians in his first admin a series of US spies. And he did it in the Oval office.

The Brits, our best ally Skud. You can imagine those allies who already keep some distance from us, like the French and Italians. According to reports they are all reevaluating their relationship with us in order to protect their spies and operatives around the world.

The simple truth is this... our allies do not trust Trump or his appts.

It's really amazing skud. What you think You Know.

Suprized you're not running the country.

In a short while poor Pete will rue the day he agreed to be nominated by Trump. The shithead just claimed trump told him to keep fighting. trump will deny this when he decides on someone else and he will call Pete a liar and loser. The fool will end up on a podcast cause Fox won't hire him back. The lesson for the repubs I guess is be a loyal suck up. Just don't get too close to the dear leader.

Rev, I do not agree with some of trumps selections but Rubio and Bondi are both qualified. Gabbard was the darling of the democrats until she left them now she is not qualified to do do anything. Most cabinet positions are lame positions but I agree with you that the big three are important and pete is not a good choice.

Dave Miller said...

Skud... regarding Gabbard. She was never the darling of the Dems. What you said is simply not true. But believe what you wish, no matter what the truth is.

The fact is this. She is unqualified, based on her experience, for the post to which she was nominated. her military rank, Lt Col, was received after a stint as a Civil Affairs officer in the Horn of Africa.

She has little combat command experience, has never worked much in security and has shown favor towards the dictator of Syria, Assad. At most, she has supervised, in her limited experience, less than 300 people. I've got more managerial experience with ppl than she does, having at one point, more than 450 employees working for me.

How does any of that qualify her to be the Director of National Intelligence of the US?

I'm sure there are plenty of things she can do for Trump. Ambassador, liason, etc. But DNI should not be one of them.

And this is what concerns me about MAGA folks and conservatives.

You all know she, and many others are unqualified for their jobs. And saying that isn't policy. I hated the policies of John Bolton, but he was serious. These folks, Gaetz, Hegseth, Gabbard, Patel are not serious, qualified people and you all know it.

But you don't care. You support them because Trump wants them.

Conservatives need to ask themselves this... are they willing to put unqualified people in charge of US security, simply because Trump wants those ppl?

It seems like the answer is yes. The question is why...

Dave M., I was just about ready to post my answer to skudrunner, but checked comment moderation first, and found your response, which was almost identical to what I was going to post.

I'll add this from AP:

"But to critics in the U.S., including lawmakers in both parties, [Gabbard's] comments showed a disturbing willingness to parrot Russian propaganda — a tendency that has earned Gabbard praise on Russian state TV.

Gabbard’s past comments supportive of Russia — as well as secret meetings with Syria’s president, a close ally of Russia and Iran — are attracting fresh scrutiny from Democrats and national security analysts who fear that as Trump’s director of national intelligence she could give Russia a major win, undercut Ukraine, weaken U.S. national security and endanger intelligence ties with allies.

“Gabbard, like Gaetz, is like a hand grenade ready to explode,” former Trump national security adviser John Bolton said, speaking of Matt Gaetz, the former Florida congressman who is Trump’s pick for attorney general. “Republicans who throw themselves on those grenades for Donald Trump are risking their own personal reputations and places in history.”

IMO, I don't think skudrunner EVER dives deeply into ANY information about Trump's cabinet nominees, so he really knows nothing about how unqualified and dangerous to America some of them will be.

Skud's blind partisanship is appalling and (along with other misinformed MAGAs) will place our country in the hands of incompetent and dangerous people.

Imagine needing YOUR MOM go on TV and say you're a good boy (after she blasted you via email), and then promising NOT to drink on the job, being forced out of a veterans group for misconduct and STILL being considered for a job you're not qualified for.

THAT is serious White privilege.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Saying “I promise not to drink on the job” because you have a record of drinking on the job, should be disqualifying as fuck for ANY job, let alone the Secretary of Defense.

Why didn’t he also say, “I promise not to sexually assault any women on the job.”

Is sexual assault not as disqualifying?

What skud says are the thoughts and reified beliefs floating around in his mind. Oftentimes they have no basis in factual reality as multiple commenter's have pointed out with receipts.

Of course this is no problem for anyone else, unless they choose to take it up. In which case ego's are fully engaged in support of each position and the never ending debate is preserved for the next time.

Since in reality humans, for the most part, create their own universe and reality. So, life is really but a dream. A waking dream created in one's own mind.

So...

Row row row your boat gently down the stream.

Merrily merrily merrily merrily life is but a dream.

In an intrerview yesterday, Hegseth voiced to whom he believes he answers. Not surprisingly, he stated he does not answer to the media. He said he answers to Donald Trump, the 50, excuse me, 100 Senators, his wife and his Lord and Savior.

Sadly, he seems to have forgotten that all public servants also answer to us, the American public. And the majority of Americans are not behind his nomination.
