"The JFK Library in Boston abruptly closed on Tuesday afternoon due to an executive order by President Trump, a spokesman from the JFK Library Foundation said. The National Archives told CBS News the library will reopen on Wednesday.
The library closed at 2 p.m. on Tuesday and members of the public who were inside had to be escorted out and the doors were locked. Visitors told WBZ-TV's Brandon Truitt the staff appeared to be in shock.
"Due to an Executive Order concerning a 'reduction in force (RIF),' the JFK Library and Museum will be closed to the public until further notice," a sign posted on the door of the library said.

And according to the government accounting office "April 2024 Government Accountability Office report that found the “federal government loses an estimated $233 billion to $521 billion” every year to fraud."
Why are you so against the person uncovering the crime and not the criminal committing it. Granted in the overall scheme of things 500 billion is not much but it is a start.
What is needed is transparency and making public what jobs are being cut and specific waste is being found. It may turn out as little a 8 million at a time but it does add up. Going to a Fair Tax system could result in large reduction of force in the IRS and would make Everyone Pay Their Fair Share something the democrats yell about but then do nothing.
You didn't address the subject of this post.
But in addition to your questions, I'd wonder why you do not question the fact that Musk, who has BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of $$$ in contracts with the government, is doing the auditing of agencies with whom he holds those contracts.
Do you see only what you want to see and do you think that the multi-billionaire with billions of $$$ worth of contracts with the US government, and who embraces far-right, anti-democratic governments, has altruistic motives in what he's doing?
Or do you just believe everything Musk and Trump tell you?

The position that the Fuhrer Felon of the Unitef States created for his billionaire lakey to hold is in fact unconstitutional as it requires congressional approval and oversight due to the huge conflict of interest it creates. Neither congressional approval or oversight exits.
Musk the Muck has billions of dollars in contact with the government that HE is essentially overseeing and making decisions on.
Hopefully the scotus will rectify this hugely unconstitutional situation. But with tRump's packing the court with his lackey judges last time I'm very doubtful they will do the right and constitutional thing.
I'm sure skud sees this as no problem, but contemplative folk who don't operate in knee-jerk mode get it.
Back when all this was hypothetical wise minds warned anyone who would listen that Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security would be facing cuts. No way said the trolls, much of the MAGA base relies on all those things. And yet, here we are with the GOP planning on massive cuts to Medicaid and the FOTUS inquiry into Social Security ending with claims that millions of citizens over the age of 100 are getting checks cut every month.
Sigh.
Tell me you know NOTHING of how Medicaid or Social Security work without saying the words. For example most of the citizens receiving Medicaid who don't work can't work for whatever reason, and have the documentation to prove it.
Of course no evidence of fraud has been provided yet, just breathless announcements from the Press Secretary and State TV talking heads with astronomical numbers of supposed dollars wasted but not one shred of evidence.
I'm not fond of the SSA but to their credit no one is rubber stamping anyone's application for benefits. I have to recertify every year which means SSA has access to my bank accounts, rent agreements, the whole ball of wax. Medicaid is also a yearly recertification. And if fraud can be proved against me I lose everything. Seriously - I get evicted for cause from my housing I can't reapply for seven years. And that doesn't take into account that housing waiting lists are three to four years long.
Ok - lighter moment. There is a story about one of our residents here at the dorm who was getting grief because the local SSA agent didn't believe the resident was blind. Frustrated after the bamzillionth meeting about the topic they popped out both of their glass eyes and showed them to the agent. Case was approved and the agents didn't give them trouble at the next recert. Honestly to the rest of us that resident was a hero.
OT/Interesting developments regarding FOTUS, Musk, and DOGE. Apparently what was said on the socials wasn't what was presented in court under oath. I look forward to how all that plays out.
