Texas: We enforce only the laws we like!





In addition to losing their minds over the Jade Helm military exercise, patriotic Texans are thumbing their collective noses at the US Constitution:

(Wait.  Don't we read almost daily from the patriotic right wing noise machines that it's the libtards and their libtard president who disrespect the law?)




Texas has refused to issue birth certificates to children born in America to undocumented immigrants over the last year, The Texas Observer reports, and several of parents have taken the state to court. 

“I’ve never seen such a large number of women with this problem,” said a Texas RioGrande Legal Aide lawyer. “They are locking out a huge chunk of the undocumented immigrant community.” 

Despite Texas law allowing parents to use foreign IDs for identification, hospitals run by the Texas Department of State Health Services have told parents that their foreign IDs—or passports without current U.S. visas—are no longer acceptable.

Texas:   We're going to teach only the history that we think happened, not what actually happened. So we'll keep our children dumb little conbots who learn fantasies, not facts. 


Also, Evolution is a hoaxy lie.  The Earth is only 6,000 years old.  It's in the Bible! And everyone in the world knows we get our science facts and education from the Bible!

So to recap:  

Texas is breaking the law by not registering children who are born in this country;

Texas is rewriting history books to reflect its skewed and inaccurate ideas about the Jim Crow era and the KKK;

Texas tried to suppress the teaching of Evolution in public schools;

Texas thinks President Obama is invading the state to round up and imprison patriotic Americans!


Go to any of the right wing blogs or news sites and read their wailing and gnashing of teeth about how this country is finished, kaput, over because of what the blah in the White House has done to it.

Meanwhile,  in conservative controlled Texas?  

Move along, nothing to see there.

I invite somebody...anybody.....to tell me why the Texas political elite are not subject to the penalties of violating Constitutional law, as is the private citizen?

"Children of undocumented (illegal) immigrants who were, like their parents, born outside the United States have no more rights to U.S. citizenship than their parents do. Despite various legislative proposals, the U.S. immigration laws currently contain no special provisions based on the age at which a person arrived in the United States.

However, children of undocumented immigrants who were born in the United States become U.S. citizens automatically. The parent(s)' immigration status is not taken into account. This is due to the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which reads that:

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and the State wherein they reside.

Citizenship is the highest status available under the U.S. immigration laws. As a native-born U.S. citizen, the child in question will be granted all of the rights that every other citizen is entitled to, such as the rights to vote, assume public office, and be immune from deportation (removal)."



The law is whatever the state of Texas says it is. They hold the power, and they can issue exemptions and ignore the inconvenient laws.

Meanwhile, what's to be done about the violation of federal law?
Are they still refusing marriage licenses to gays?

And just what recourse does the federal government have?

Yes, Ducky, that was a very funny spoof.

It's interesting to read certain right wing blogs and how they go on and on and on about the end of 'Merika because of Mr. Obama, when right in front of their noses, states like Texas continue to flout laws they disagree with.

The Tea Party conservative mind is bifurcated ("Liberals break the laws because they're lawless; Conservatives fight against tyranny when they break the laws!) and has no hope of understanding the world that sane people occupy.

skud, yes, the conservatives in the Democratic Party created the Jim Crow laws and the KKK, but later, after the Civil Rights Act and Voting Rights Act were passed, they abandoned the Democratic Party for the GOP. One thing, however, never changed: The people who supported Jim Crow laws and the butchery of the KKK were all white Christian southerners.

You can change party affiliation like you can change your socks, but you can't change who you are.

Your incessant comments about the "Democrat" Party, Jim Crow and the KKK will not ever be published.

We get what you want to say and what you refuse to understand.

It's time to put Texas in jail...or at least charge them with it with a crime. If corporations are people, aren't states also? Let's treat them like people.

Last week, Texas governor Greg Abbott nominated member Donna Bahorich as the chair of the Texas Board of Education. Bahorich is one of the quieter members of the board, largely going along with the board's radical right-wing agenda, which has included voting to approve history textbooks that claim Moses helped shape democracy, show sympathy with Joseph McCarthy, and argue country music is culturally relevant but hip-hop is not.

Now the Texas Freedom Network—a watchdog group that has been fighting creationism, right-wing historical revisionism, and abstinence-only education in the classroom—is raising the alarm about Bahorich's history of hostility to public education. In their press release, TFN notes that Bahorich went to great lengths to keep her three sons from attending public school; they were first homeschooled, then sent to private and religious schools. Bahorich also voted against a resolution asking the state legislature to reject private-school vouchers.

"Religious conservatives descended on the Hood County Commissioners meeting in Texas on Tuesday demanding that LGBT books be censored or banned from the local public library, but ultimately lost out to those who argued for freedom of speech and tolerance.

After a local Tea Party chapter began circulating requests to have two LGBT-themed books — This Day in June and My Princess Boy — removed from the Hood County library Children’s section, residents swarmed the Commissioners’ court to speak out on the issue.

Many opponents said that their objections were based on their Christian faith.

One woman explained that the government employees and President Barack Obama had lost their “fear of the Lord.”

“The Founding Fathers designed our Constitution from Bible principles as Moses was instructed to bring the law down to the people… So, America was founded on God,” she insisted, imploring the commissioners to compare the United States to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah.

Another common theme among Hood County residents was the notion that LGBT books were an effort to “indoctrinate our children.”
