Former GOP Senator: Trump is "sick of mind, impetuous, arrogant, belligerent, and dangerous."

When's the last time you heard a former senator (or anyone) from a sitting president's own political party say something as scathing and frightening as this?

Former GOP Sen. Gordon Humphrey: ‘Seriously Sick’ Trump Must Be Replaced ASAP

“He is sick of mind, impetuous, arrogant, belligerent
and dangerous.”

A former Republican senator is calling on lawmakers to use the 25th Amendment to kick President Donald Trump out of office.

“He is sick of mind, impetuous, arrogant, belligerent and dangerous,” Gordon Humphrey, who represented New Hampshire from 1979 to 1990, said in a letter to his state’s members of Congress obtained by Manchester ABC station WMUR.

Humphrey, who vehemently opposed Trump in last year’s election, said the president’s comments threatening North Korea with “fire and fury” show that he is “impaired by a seriously sick psyche” and could lead the nation into nuclear war. In the letter, reprinted in the Concord Monitor, Humphrey wrote:

“The president alone has the authority to launch nuclear weapons, the only restraint being the advice of senior advisors who might be present at the time of crisis, and Donald Trump has shown repeated contempt for informed and wise counsel.”

Humphrey said the president’s “sick and reckless conduct could consume the lives of millions,” and he should be relieved of his duties “at the earliest possible date.”

********************

A day after Trump announced he would send "fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen," he was back tweeting about a bogus popularity contest poll about Trump vs. Mr. Obama.

That's the sort of behavior of a seriously sick mind and a person with no understanding of the gravity of the situation in which he has put America and the world.

It's evident that Trump, above all else -- even a nuclear holocaust -- is more concerned with his popularity standing versus President Obama than he is with the extreme danger his words produced.

Trump is sick and reckless and behaving like the sick and reckless Kim Jong Un.

Trump is a monster, a demonic presence, a raging sociopath who would frivolously slaughter hundreds of thousands, even millions, so that he can look tough.

As his political troubles deepen, so will his willingness to blow it all up and burn it all down. He is sinister, he is mad, and he is itching for a fight of mass destruction.

Trump is what rural and small-town White Christian America wanted and voted for by large margins. They were warned that he was like this, and they voted with their eyes wide open. This is their fault.

So it was OK for Truman to tell Japan they will be rain fire on them if they persist and Clinton to utter we would retaliate if NK developed and used nuclear weapons it would mean an end to their country. Clinton took the lead in allowing NK to develop nuclear capability and it continued to be allowed during GWB and BHO. BHO decreased funding to develop counter measures.
It is OK with many that Kim threaten the US and he is not condemned. You do know that the coasties are the ones being threatened the most but that must not register.
This lead from the front is upsetting to many and it seems we just need to draw a line in the sand and then apologize because we are the US.

SK: If I remember correctly, that happened during a world war. We're not in a world war now where millions and millions of people are losing their lives. Also, my personal opinion is that we shouldn't have used a nuclear weapons to destroy Hiroshima, and what was the purpose of doing it again to Nagasaki?

You're just parroting right wing spin and talking points when you blame Clinton. Here are the facts.

Trump showed the world what a scary little man he is by threatening "fire and fury the likes of which the world has never seen." What does that mean? Will he use a nuclear weapon worse than Hiroshima and Nagasaki? That was the worst the world had ever seen, and Trump is threatening to outdo that nuclear holocaust? What exactly do his words mean?

Also, Trump, the scary little man, after promising to send fire and fury to NK, the very next day tweeted out a fake popularity poll about him and President Obama. That is the very definition of a mentally unstable crackpot and a mad man. Why the hell is the POTUS one day threatening a nuclear holocaust and the next day tweeting about his popularity?

Trump is sick in mind, impetuous, belligerent, and dangerous. Any tin-pot dictator can promise death and destruction -- Trump is doing what Kim Jong Un is famous for.

I am convinced that Kim Jong Un is saner than Donald Trump. Our delusionally insane leader is now saying the military is "locked and loaded". But I think that, if anything happens, it will because Trump orders a preemptive attack.

CNN: "Estimates are that hundreds of thousands of South Koreans would die in the first few hours of combat - from artillery, from rockets, from short range missiles - and if this war would escalate to the nuclear level, then you are looking at tens of millions of casualties and the destruction of the eleventh largest economy in the world".

Will Trump attack? Probably not. But he might. Lindsay Graham says "he has discussed the issue of North Korea in great detail with Trump and could see a scenario where the US carries out a preemptive action to enforce the policy of denial of capability to hit the homeland".

As for Skud blaming Clinton, gwb and Obama... "North Korea made its nuclear break out under George W. Bush... over the course of the late 90s the US negotiated a series of agreements called the Agreed Framework which shuttered the North Koreans nuclear weapons program in exchange for a combination of commitments and aid. The Bush team argued that the agreement was appeasement and that the US had caught the North Koreans cheating on the agreement during Bush's first term..." (Link). GHWB is the president who is responsible for the current state of affairs.

Ray, I'm not sure Trump knows where North Korea is. Trump is the guy who, when he landed in Israel recently, told his hosts that he had just arrived from the Middle EAst. The man with the great brain is actually a dumbass with a big mouth willing to b.s. anyone who'll listen.

Trump strikes me as a typical old-fashioned, doddering old fk –– a kind of person they dont make anymore [God bless us]. I imagine he now has to relieve his sexual urges on sheep, since no self-respecting woman would let that sack of blubber near her. Melania won't sleep with him, and neither will Ivanka, and who can blame them?

Poor Trump! Whenever he opens his mouth to talk he reminds me of a child ready to roll on the floor and have a blue shit tantrum. Obviously he's a product of white affirmative action. He brags about graduating first in his class at Wharton, and that's another one of his stinkin lies. And yes, his hands are as tiny as his intelligence. He's an overfed and undereducated bag of offal with his tiny little fingers on nuclear buttons.

Have a nice day.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but, the former Senator isn't a phycologist or psychiatrist. I believe diagnosis by a professional in the mental health field, probably multiple ones, will be required. Republicans haven't the cajones to proceed on this basis.

Good info at that link Shaw.

The right wingers have been instructed about the difference between a light water and heavy water reactor for some time. It seems they are so skull drilled by conservative hate media that if you attempt to explain the difference they put their fingers in their ers and emit a loud humming noise.

Skud, the context of Truman's remark was quite different.

RN, you're correct, the former GOP senator, Humphreys, just gave his opinion, which agrees with mine. Senator Humphreys was one of those old fashioned GOP senators who could reach across the aisle and work with the opposing party. IOW, a normal politician.

Here is a letter signed by 35 of them.

Indeed Shaw, but, your answer did not address the question what it might likely require to get legislators to use the 25th.

Basically the highly opinionated hyper partisan rhetoric that leads to erecting and fortifying walls built entirely around ones opinion has become epidemic, counter productive, and dangerous. Little Donnie Tiny Hands has given us a treasure trove of examples. And, he is not alone as he has much company not limited to just republicans.

Saw the letter, however, proper scientific evaluation requires observation and actual interaction with the patient over a reasonable period of time by the doctor. Time to get it started if it can be done.

All that matters to Trump is popularity. He tweeted a popularity poll tweet from an online site run by 4 people, and anyone anywhere could vote, rendering the results inaccurate. Next, after placing Guam in peril, Tump called Guam's governor and told him he would be really popular now that he's in the news.

To Trump, all that matters is being popular and loved. And that's too bad for him, since he isn't popular nor loved. America dislikes him: 7 out of 10 Americans dislike him. He's not anywhere near popular and we dislike him with the intensity of a thousand suns.

That is stating the obvious documented poll data. Trump is an obviously asshole, but, that does not confirm he is mentally ill. Proper evaluation and diagnosis by a qualified team of psychiatric and medical professionals after personal interaction and psychiatric testing is needed. Perhaps then Congress will move.

Of course if Trump refuses to submit to testing and evaluation Congress should consider it confirmation of the suspected malady.
