"If I was going to do a coup..." Donald J. Trump uttered those words.

"If I Was Going To Do A Coup," by Donald J. Trump

 Kaitlan Collins @kaitlancollins ·

"Responding to @PhilipRucker & @CarolLeonnig's book, Trump says in part, "I never threatened, or spoke about, to anyone, a coup of our Government...

If I was going to do a coup, one of the last people I would want to do it with is General Mark Milley...I’m not into coups!"

(Of course Trump wouldn't want to "do" a coup with Gen. Milley; Trump would choose his favorite traitor, disgraced General Michael Flynn.)

"If I was going to do a coup..." --D.J.Trump  (Would he choose these bottom feeders?)

All these “on the brink,” end of days reports about Trump almost taking the nation off the deep end belie one crucial point: none of that happened over night. It happened every day, little by little, over four years, as Republicans looked on either silently or approvingly.

Horror stories about Trump will continue as more books and memoirs are published. How can anyone be surprised by the revelations? Trump was and is a maniac—the single greatest mistake ever made by the American electorate.

Our mission is clear: Destroy the Republican Party.

January 6 was an attempt to stop the certification of the presidential vote by intimidating and threatening Congress from carrying that out thru acts of violence. A coup is defined as "a sudden, violent, and illegal seizure of power". Jan. 6th meets that criteria.

Sounds a bit like, "Even if I did rape her, I'm not into ugly women."

"Hitler did some good things", too, declared the Fuhrer of the American Putsch.

Dave Dubya Conservative writer, David Frum, is now saying the word people were reluctant to say as we suffered through the Trump years, "fascist."

"Through the Trump years, it seemed sensible to eschew comparisons to the worst passages of history. I repeated over and over again a warning against too-easy use of the F-word, fascism: “There are a lot of stops on the train line to bad before you get to Hitler Station.”

Two traits have historically marked off European-style fascism from more homegrown American traditions of illiberalism: contempt for legality and the cult of violence. Presidential-era Trumpism operated through at least the forms of law. Presidential-era Trumpism glorified military power, not mob attacks on government institutions. Post-presidentially, those past inhibitions are fast dissolving. The conversion of Ashli Babbitt into a martyr, a sort of American Horst Wessel, expresses the transformation. Through 2020, Trump had endorsed deadly force against lawbreakers: “When the looting starts, the shooting starts,” he tweeted on May 29, 2020. Babbitt broke the law too, but not to steal a TV. She was killed as she tried to disrupt the constitutional order, to prevent the formalization of the results of a democratic election.

We are so accustomed to using the word fascist as an epithet that it feels awkward to adjust it for political analysis. We understand that there were and are many varieties of socialism. We forget that there were varieties of fascism as well, and not just those defeated in World War II."

I'm not surprised about anything that tRUMP has done. It's sad that he still has so many followers.

Trump's 8 AM Tweet on Jan. 6:

“States want to correct their votes, which they now know were based on irregularities and fraud, plus corrupt process never received legislative approval. All Mike Pence has to do is send them back to the States, AND WE WIN. Do it Mike, this is a time for extreme courage!”

Then Vice President Pence had no Constitutional authority to do what Trump called on him to do. IOW, Trump was asking Pence to break the law.

What happened to the "Rule of Law" Republicans? Why are they okay with Trump's lawlessness?

Well there you have it folks… traitors exposed… the enemy within, yet our MSMedia continue to use the metaphor "Republican."

Rather than American Fascist… why ?

As the wheels of justice continue to grind fools into spam, the Traitor in Chief Trump still stumbles and babbles like the lunatic he is.

His lost loser lemmings continue to follow…

America what happened to you ?

If I did it... said OJ Simpson as he decamped to Florida to spend his days searching for the "real killer" of Nicole.

If I did it, it would've been the greatest coup ever. Way better THAN those COUPS of Napoleon, Pinochet and Qadaffi. They are losers compared to ME! The greatest Couper the world has ever seen.

That's more like what we'll be seeing soon as more and more from this most recent book on the Trump presidency comes out.

Im sorry Shaw, but at one time i did agree with you, but NOW it seems as if the Biden administration is doing everything that they can to ruin America

Duke, I never saw you here in the comments before today.

Did you use a different name before? I looked at your profile, and it's unavailable, just like the troll sock puppets from WYD blog, who come here every day weeping and wailing about what I post. They apparently have some sort of mental problem that impels them to come here and become enraged with what I post. They're unable to control this behavior.

Normal, sane people don't deliberately go to a blog that upsets them -- one of their trolls, TOM, was particularly enraged today.

Here's a hint you can pass on to them over at WYD: Get psychiatric help, ASAP!

Now you have a sparkling day, okay "Duke?"

Dave When one reads that the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Milley, was fearful that on Jan. 6, “This is a Reichstag moment,” every American should pay attention.

And when you hear a former president utter the words, "If I was going to do a coup..." we Americans should do everything within our legal power to make sure the maniac, Trump, never gets near any sort of political power again. Right now he's holding rallies for the type of deluded folks who still think he's some sort of hero, when everything we're hearing about Jan. 6, before and after, points to the fact that Donald J. Trump was courting fascism and believed he could break our laws, grab power, and install himself as president.

We lived through a perilous moment in history, and I believe that as long as a dangerous ignoramus like Trump is around, we'll face more of the same.

Ray, You're correct. the Republican Party is dead. Trump and his cultists killed it.

It's now the Trumpublican Party or the Neo-Fascist party. They did, after all, try to stop the legal and Constitutional order that the electoral college votes be certified. They wanted to kill the vice president of the United States.

And yet the folks on the Mother Ship and at other Trumpian blogs and news sites see no problem with that, or they ignore it. I don't consider them Americans, I see them as Trumpians, who have abandoned their country for a cult leader.

The former guy has killed more Americans than anyone in our history by his incompetence, his greed, and through his malicious spread of dangerous lies. He is the biggest single danger to community health and safety in our country’s history. Why can’t the cult think rationally?

Ray said...

Are the neo-fascists at the Mother Ship still saying BLM and Antifa were the ones rioting on Jan. 6?

"For Trump, there was no more beautiful sight than thousands of energetic people waving Trump flags, wearing red MAGA caps and fighting to keep him in power.

“He thought, ‘This is cool.’ He was happy,” recalled one aide who was with Trump that afternoon.

An excerpt from Carol Leonnig and Philip Rucker's book, “I Alone Can Fix It: Donald J. Trump’s Catastrophic Final Year.”

Ray

Clearly, those thousands of "energetic people waving Trump flags and wearing red MAGA caps" were very clever BLM AND Antifa actors! /sarcasm/

So Trump is saying that he's against coups but if he DID, uh, do a coup, he definitely wouldn't do one with Milley?

That's not comforting at all!

Imagine that! Trump has actually thought about using someone other than Gen. Milley if he DID do a coup?

Who are the imbeciles who still support this guy?

Holy Sh*t! trump thought telling a US general that he wouldn't want to do a coup with him was a diss. lol.
