The GQP Death Cult

The GQP Trump cultists are "owning the libtards" by killing themselves!

It's a horrifying situation to rational people and anyone who has a functioning brain.

However, to Trump cultists, it's their way of denying science and grim reality and showing their dying allegiance to Trump, who, incidentally, is vaccinated, as is his 3rd wife and, probably, his children.

99.5% of the new COVID-19 infections and deaths involve people who are not vaccinated.

One word from Trump on the efficacy of getting the jab would encourage his cultists to save their lives by getting vaccinated. But Trump's misguided cultists would rather die.

That's pathological.

Tennessee:

Overwhelming number of Tennessee's COVID-19 deaths among unvaccinated population

Colorado:

Majority of COVID deaths in US among unvaccinated as states with low vaccine rates see surges

Maryland:

In Maryland, every person who died of COVID-19 in June was unvaccinated

The GOP death cult attitude toward coronavirus vaccines isn’t just lethal. It’s stupid.

"What used to be the conservative movement in this country is becoming a death cult. The measure of its power is less in ballots cast than in how many people die needlessly in service of this twisted worldview.

This reality was on view over the weekend in Dallas at the Conservative Political Action Conference, where attendees cheered when Alex Berenson, who has made himself a Fox News folk hero for spreading misinformation about covid-19 vaccines, crowed about the fact that fewer Americans were getting their shots than public health officials had hoped.

“It’s horrifying,” Anthony S. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday. “I mean, they are cheering about someone saying that it’s a good thing for people not to try and save their lives. … Everybody starts screaming and clapping. I just don’t get that. I mean, and I don’t think that anybody who is thinking clearly can get that. What is that all about?”

So what you are saying is everyone who is not vaccinated is a republican. You also give trump more respect than he deserves because most rational people would not take advise from him. Yes there are some who considers him competent but there are some who voted for obama twice so stupidity is not restricted to just one party affiliation.

It is not as if nobody could see and predict this. It was a certainty waiting to happen. It's awfully hard to feel sorry for those who willingly ignore the science and tempt death. Death will be onl;y too happy to oblige their stupidity. But we've grown quite used to such stupidity over the last 5 years. Thanks to Trump and his narcissistically demented mind.

This is all so disheartening. And it didn't/doesn't have to be so.

Where are our political and community leaders in the areas most impacted by the current spread, urging people to get vaccinated? Leaders of both parties, leaders who support Biden, hate Biden, support Trump and hate Trump?

Where are those leaders when it comes to calling out the lies we see each night on some "news" stations telling us there are micro chips in the dosage, that hundreds of ppl are dying from the vaccines and not reporting that upwards of 90% of the cases and almost 100% of the deaths attributed to the Delta variant are in unvaccinated people?

It really is hard, as one heath care worker in a now overwhelmed hospital in Missouri said, to have a lot of sympathy for those that die without a vaccine.

But I hate that I too feel that way some days.

I wish there was a way to cut off all governmental monetary health care aid and support for people who willingly choose to ignore the science and reality of these vaccines. And make the people and their families pay for their health care. Why should, as conservatives have argued for years, the rest of us have to pay for their stupidity?

If they want to be free, they should willingly eschew all government aid designed to keep them free from and recover from Covid.

Skud, you just can't help yourself, can you.

skud: "So what you are saying is everyone who is not vaccinated is a republican."

Can you point out where I wrote that? You can't. But here's a FACT: 99.5% of the COVID-19 (and its variant, Delta), deaths are attributed to unvaccinated people, and a majority of those people are in red states, states that went for Trump in the 2020 election. FACT.

Trump himself and his family are vaccinated, but he's such a monster that he will not tell his cultists at his bunt rallies that they should do the same in order to save their lives and the lives of people they're in contact with.

Never, never, never compare Trump with President Obama or President Biden. They have their faults; they make mistakes; I don't agree with everything they've done. But I know they would never giddily watch their supporters DIE in service to a BIG LIE, as Trump has done and is doing to his insane supporters.

Trump is a malignant narcissist and a liar, cheat, and fraud. It is America's tragedy that so many millions of its citizens support him.

President Obama is held in high esteem by presidential scholars, historians, and leaders all over the world. Pres. Obama's 8 years in office was scandal free, a feat that very few presidents, Democratic and Republican, achieve. Reagan had one of the MOST corrupt administrations in recent history, for example.

Donald Trump was impeached TWICE! (the only POTUS with that distinction), incited an insurrection against his own government, and encouraged his armed mobs to kill his own vice president -- all of those seditious actions were based on Trump's BIG LIE.

And here you are, again, showing your jealously and hatred for a man who honorably and admirably led this country for 8 years.

That's a kind of sickness. And 30% of America is suffering from it, even to the point of willing to kill themselves in fealty to a monstrous, malignant narcissist and to "own the libs."

What was presented points out the abject stupidity of conservative republicans at CPAC. Keep it in context skidmark. CPAC is the wingnut conservative wacos of the GQP that continue to support the bullshit Trump continues to spew to this day.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave, I've seen Asa Hutchinson, the Republican governor of Arkansas, urge his citizens to get vaccinated.

Massachusetts Republican Governor Charlie Baker has done a good job -- we're about 63% vaccinated --even though the state got off to a rather shaky start.

The Northeast states are approaching 70% vaccinated.

Here are the states' ranking in % of Vaccinations.

It's really telling that the states with the lowest percentages of vaccinations are also the states that strongly supported Trump in the last election.

All it would take is for Trump to urge his supporters/cultists to get vaccinated when he's haranguing at his rallies. But he'll never do that. He'd rather see his cultists die than allow the Biden Administration to reach its goal.

That's a disgusting and disgraceful situation for America.

The Trump cultists want you and me to forget what he incited on January 6. DON'T LET THEM BURY WHAT TRUMP DID THAT DAY. TRUMP IS A TRAITOR TO AMERICA. His cultists are insane!

Dave Miller said...

Shaw said... "All it would take is for Trump to urge his supporters/cultists to get vaccinated when he's haranguing at his rallies."

Add folks like Ted Cruz, Gov De Santis of Florida, Jim Jordan, Tucker Carlson, everyone of The Five, an afternoon FOX News show, Laura Ingraham and more.

And they should not mince words. Jim Parsons of Missouri is an interesting example. Even as his state hospitals are overwhelmed, he says yes, get the vaccine, but you don't have to. And he continues to push legislation that forbids small localities, they kind the GOP used to say were smart enough to govern themselves, from enacting local measures stronger than the state desires.

How is that helping?

skudrunner said...

"However, to Trump cultists, it's their way of denying science and grim reality and showing their dying allegiance to Trump."

I agree with you that obama was scandal free in the press. If you disregard his attack on small businesses, the middle class, giving billions to a regime vowing to kill us, wasting billions to create zero jobs then he was scandal free.

In any other sane society, that wouldbe grounds for prison or committing to a mental hospital.

Cheering because more Americans will die and are dying???

WTAF has happened to these people?

Those were NOT scandals! They were POLICIES you disagreed with, and the one about Iran is a g-d lie that's been explained countless times, but Trumpers and people who willfully refuse to inform themselves keep repeating that lie.

I'm sorry you don't know the difference between policies you don't like and REAL scandals, like Trump strong-arming the governor and secy. of state of Georgia to "find 11,790" for him so that Georgia will make Trump the winner -- IOW, CHEAT, LIE, AND STEAL the electoral votes in Georgia! That's a g-d CRIME! Trump tried the same thing in Arizona!

And yet you return here and lie about President Obama's presidency being scandalous, when, IN FACT, it was not, and you've said NOTHING about Trump and his criminal intent to steal the election away from Biden.

Right now there is an on-going criminal investigation into the Trump Organization, into what happened in Georgia, and, in time, probably what Trump tried to do in Arizona.

When will people like you wake up to the fact that Donald Trump is a dirty, lying cheat, and doesn't give a flying donut about the middle or working classes. All he cares about is himself and money.

Meanwhile you keep posting lies about President Obama.

Here's a question you need to ask yourself.

How many criminal investigations were there and are there now into President Obama's presidency? Donald Trump had Bill Barr as his AG, and had the opportunity to investigate any "scandal" that you claim happened.

There were no investigations because there were no scandals.

Trump was impeached TWICE -- the only POTUS to have that distinction. And the spineless cowards in the GQP refused to make Trump accountable for his crimes.

Skud... no one said all those who are unvaccinated are Republicans. but we can say this...

Only one state is terminating all vaccination outreach to families and minors including sending postcards to remind teenagers to get their second Covid shot. Now lest you misinterpret what I am saying... that state, Tennessee is not just curtailing efforts to encourage people to get the Covid vaccine, they are curtailing outreach for, wait for it... ALL VACCINES!

Now one might reasonably ask why Tennessee is doing this and ordering the removal of all Tennessee Public Health Dept logos from anything encouraging vaccinations. the reason is because they are under pressure from Tennessee GOP state lawmakers.

Yes, you read it right. Elected GOP leaders are actively working to discourage vaccine outreach in Tennessee, even as the Covid rates there climb as the Delta variant takes hold.

Tennessee... in the throes of the GOP Death Cult.

Ah yes, Tennessee, the state that once outlawed teaching Darwin's Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection and also the state that's always at the bottom -- #40 in education.

Is there a correlation?

The Tennessee Department of Health will halt all adolescent vaccine outreach – not just for coronavirus, but all diseases – amid pressure from Republican state lawmakers, according to an internal report and agency emails obtained by the Tennessean. If the health department must issue any information about vaccines, staff are instructed to strip the agency logo off the documents.

Shaw... we might reasonably ask, but we'll never get an answer, reasonable or otherwise.

All we'll get is something about Hunter Biden, Benghazi, living in a basement or a remark about the swell guy.

Nothing even remotely close to a serious defense or reason.

I mean these guys are pulling, after they fired the head of the state public health department, outreach for vaccines for polio, diphtheria, mumps and measles.

Why?

And I wonder if they also nixxed the whooping cough vaccine.

Thank God they weren't in charge when we distributed the small pox vaccine.

But hey... the Tennessee GOP is owning us libs...

When I was little, we stood in line at school to be vaccinated against Smallpox, Polio, Measles, Rubella, etc.

I never imagined a day when the Republican position to a health crisis would be to encourage people to risk death rather than get vaccinated.

From The Tennessean provided in the "Anonymous" link above:

"Tennessee Department of Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Tim Jones said any information released about back-to-school vaccinations should come from the Tennessee Department of Education, not the Tennessee Department of Health, according to the email and report obtained by the Tennessean.

However, Tennessee's former top vaccine official Dr. Michelle Fiscus, who was fired without explanation Monday, said the state's decision to roll back vaccine outreach for minors came in response to pressure from conservative lawmakers.

'Killing the kids to own the libs,' tweeted Paulette Aniskoff, former Director of the Office of Public Engagement at the Obama White House."

Let's hope parents listen to their physicians and not the quacks who set this policy!

Knowledge is power; giving parents and children information about vaccines is a good thing, but if you're a MAGA, anti-science, anti-vaccine nut, you want to stop anything and anyone from educating the public on critical health issues.

It appears that they're even willing to sacrifice the health and well-being of their babies and children to "own the libs."

Wow!

I guess we're witnessing real time the effects of electing a charlatan and an idiot to the highest office in the land, and then watching his entire party step out of reality and into the Twilight Zone.

Apparently Republican's have completely lost their ability to reason. Certainly in Tennesee anyway.

As Shaw has said many times, those folks have gone so far down the rabbit hole of lunacy that they left themselves no ladder to use for their escape.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Dave. Anon,

That E.B. character claims the election was stolen and offers -- NEVER, NEVER offers any evidence and ignores the fact that even GOP secys. of state say the election was free of fraud. I read that blog and sadly understand that they're nothing more than latter day Jim Jones-type adherents of a demented cult leader. They've killed the Republican Party, and some of the cultists in red states are now killing their own people by discouraging them from vaccinating against a deadly virus.

As I've said before, it's a madness that's taken hold of the Trumpers, you can read it every day at the Mother Ship's blog.

I currently live in TN, though I was not educated in TN. I got two shots of Moderna. My dad had a hard time scheduling appointments for himself and my mom. I scheduled mine a while later. It was easy. Now I hear you can get a shot at Walgreens. Still TN is in the bottom 10. I asked a cashier about the sign outside the store and referenced the fact that people inside the store weren't wearing masks... and was told they weren't allowed to say anything.

btw, according to Minus, he got the vaccine. Even though he continues to lie about how many people the vaccines have supposedly killed. Which is now a number in excess of 25k (just in the US). Frankly I think he's a liar. If the issue of the vaccine can be used to his side's advantage, he does not care if other people die. Even people who share his politics. He knows a lot of them are useful idiots. People like Mystere -- a Dotard supporter who posts LOTS of YouTubes to his blog featuring rightwing "pastors" who say God is bigly mad at Joe Biden for stealing the election (and is going to take him out soon).

Shaw Kenawe said...

Derv, My brother lives in TN. He got COVID last August, was sick for 5 days with high temps but no cough (both he and his wife are RNs).

As for Minus Eff Jay, most of the time he doesn't know what he's talking about. His numbers for deaths from the vaccine is bogus:

SOURCE.

How many people have died from the vaccine in the U.S.?

Updated June 14, 2021

Over 309 million vaccine doses were given in the US as of June 7, 2021. The vaccines have been proven to be safe and effective. Vaccination is happening under the most intensive safety monitoring in U.S. history.

How do we know if someone dies after getting a vaccine?

The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requires vaccination providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). When these reports are received, doctors from CDC and FDA review death certificates, autopsies, and medical records to understand what happened with each person.

How many people have died after getting a vaccine?

Between December 2020 and June 7th, 2021, VAERS received 5,208 reports of death (0.0017%) among people who got a vaccine. Doctors and safety monitors carefully review the details of each case to see if it might be linked to the vaccine. There are three deaths that appear to be linked to blood clots that occurred after people got the J&J vaccine. Since we now know how to correctly treat people who develop these blood clots, future deaths related to this very rare side effect can be prevented. By way of comparison, getting COVID-19 while unvaccinated poses a grave risk; as of June 14, 2021 more than 599,000 deaths have been attributed to the virus in the US alone.

After careful review of the additional data, doctors have decided that there is no evidence at all that the vaccines contributed to the other patient deaths. Nonetheless, the CDC and FDA will continue to investigate every single report of death (and other adverse events) reported to VAERS.
