A reminder of what Trump did to our country:

Football legend, Hershel Walker, has been endorsed by Trump for the US Senate from Georgia. He'll be in a primary runoff on May 24 against other Republican/Trumpublican contenders.

Here's what we know about Walker, so far, and it's all of a piece with how Trump lied his way to his nomination for POTUS. Trump proudly endorsed Walker for the US Senate.

PS. Recently, Walker wondered why there are still monkeys if Evolution claims that we came from them. The egregious idiocy contained in that musing is embarrassing and should have disqualified him on the spot. But he was endorsed by Trump, and that's all Trump's cultists need to know about any candidate.

Thanks to Trump, the Trumpublican Party now is proud to run a liar like Walker for a US Senate seat. And not one of them seems to care.

Can't decide whether to classify the republiscum/tRumpubliscum party as a comedy act or a shit show. Guess its a bit of both!

Trump, Walker, MTG, Boebert, Gasol, Pompeo and last but not least, Mark Meadows who is being investigated for... wait for it... voter fraud.

Now we know why the GOP and conservatives are so sure there is voter fraud going on.

Because they are the ones being found guilty of it.

Look, it's not all on Trump. Let's go back to the Gingrich Congress and his decision that his House would not compromise with the Dems. Because they knew better what America needed.

The economic plan the Dems and Clinton were pushing would destroy America they said. The tax increases would kill our economy they said. SO the Dems had to pass the bill without a single member of the GOP. Perhaps the first time in history for a budget to be treated in such a partisan fashion.

Of course, the GOP was 100% wrong and that Clinton budget led to the largest US economic expansion in most of our lifetimes. And... a balanced budget and a budget surplus.

Shaw, your title should be...

A reminder of what the GOP has done to our Country.

As Forest Gump's momma said, stupid is as stupid does. And the republiscum party has proved beyond a shadow just how true that statement is!

Walker should fit in with all the other republican liars.

A vote for Walker is proof of idiocy. the man is dumb as a stump and even less useful. Of course, King Clorox is also an idiot and they swoon over him, so I guess it's just more proof that today's Republiclown party is filled with morons, idiots, fools and bigots.

Maybe someday we will elect politicians who are smart instead of famous. I do agree with RN in that stupid is as stupid does and walker brings that home. Look what AZ did by voting in kelly who is not real bright but flew in space and is well known. Trump because he was rich and had a TV show. We don't elect leaders based on qualifications but rather on notoriety. If the country survives the woke movement and can get through the next two and a half years maybe we will change.

skud "Look what AZ did by voting in kelly who is not real bright but flew in space..."

"Sen. Kelly is a retired astronaut for NASA, and retired U.S. Navy captain flew combat missions during the Gulf War as a naval aviator. Before being selected as a NASA Space Shuttle pilot in 1996. He flew his first space mission in 2001 as pilot of STS-108, piloted STS-121 in 2006, and commanded STS-124 in 2008 and STS-134 in 2011, the final mission of Space Shuttle Endeavour. Education: United States Merchant Marine Academy (BS), Naval Postgraduate School (MS)"

skud: "If the country survives the woke movement and can get through the next two and a half years maybe we will change."

It's unlikely we will change when we have 30 to 40% of our population who think someone with Sen. Kelly's background, education, and achievements is "not real bright."

Your political biases are so telling. You never mention Marge and he "Jewish Space Lasers," or accusing Speaker Pelosi of leading the "Gazpacho Police."

But the dumbest of all was when she compared a highly contagious COVID-19 to cancer:

Marge suggested cancer is similarly airborne. “Every single year more than 600,000 people in the US die from cancer. The country has never once shut down. Not a single school has closed,”

That's a special kind of stupid. But skud never misses a chance to besmirch the intelligence of someone like Senator Mark Kelly?

Really.

Oh Skud... only you would say an astronaut is "not real bright".

Here's the qualifications NASA lists to be an astronaut...

Astronaut requirements have changed with NASA's goals and missions. Today, to be considered for an astronaut position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

-Be a U.S. citizen
-Possess a master's degree* in a STEM field, including engineering, biological science, physical science, computer science or mathematics, from an accredited institution.
-Have at least two years of related professional experience obtained after degree completion or at least 1,000 hours pilot-in-command time on jet aircraft.
Be able to pass the NASA long-duration flight astronaut physical.

*The master's degree requirement can also be met by:

-Two years (36 semester hours or 54 quarter hours) of work toward a doctoral program in a related science, technology, engineering or math field.
-A completed Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
-Completion (or current enrollment that will result in completion by June 2021) of a nationally recognized test pilot school program.

Astronaut candidates must also have skills in leadership, teamwork and communications.

NASA’s Astronaut Selection Board reviews the applications (a record-breaking 18,300 applications in 2016) and assesses each candidate’s qualifications. The board then invites a small group of the most highly qualified candidates for interviews at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Of those interviewed, about half are invited back for second interviews. From that group, NASA’s new astronaut candidates are selected. They report for training at Johnson and spend the next two years learning basic astronaut skills like spacewalking, operating the space station, flying T-38 jet planes and controlling a robotic arm.

Sounds pretty rigorous to me.

Now that does not mean an astronaut is any good at being a politician, but "not real bright?" Really?

But let me ask you... what qualifications should a president or politician, our leaders have?

Dave makes a good point. This has been going on since way before Trump. As Republicans went lower and lower Americans kept voting for them. Our politics are a reflection of our people.

I no longer expect anything better from skidmark, Ms. Shaw. He's more than proven that between his whataboutisms and his extreme partisan nonsense/lies, he simply is not a credible person to talk to about politics, or much of anything else, really.

We can say one thing for certain. skud honesty represents his own intelligence well.

skudrunner said...

Ms. Shaw, who is marge and what does she have to do with the conversation. Just because you fly does not mean you are bright and why would graduating from the merchant marine academy mean you should lead a country. We have a history of electing people with no experience in running anything. I applaud the election of obama because at least he ran a lemonade stand. Regardless of what your feelings about trump at least he did what he said he was going to do. Improve border security, move embassy in Israel, reduce regulations spurring a business boom, reduce unemployment, blame china for targeting the US. We now have an administration who refuses to place any blame on china and saluted russia. Come on man face facts.

What can be said about Americans who admire Trump —- the ex-President who said Putin was smart, savvy, and wonderful for invading a sovereign country and viciously committing crimes against humanity? But scudrunner admires Trump. After all, he did say he’d move the American embassy to Jerusalem, so there’s that. I’m sure the suffering and dying people of Ukraine are very impressed.

Dave Miller answered your insulting and uninformed opinion of Senator Kelly.

I’m sure you had no trouble voting for Trump who was a failed business man, had zero experience in governance, was a reality show host, and was fined by a court of justice for scamming people out of money with his fake Trump University. Oh yeah, I almost forgot, he stole from his own foundation and a court of justice found him guilty of that crime as well. Onmen are very good at recognizing their marks.

Shaw - I meant what you knew. :) I hope your Spring is filled with good health and growth, the renewal which is the promise after winter.

skud to me is the small dog barking into the world, demanding all and sundry acknowledge their existence. That said I need to address their comment " I applaud the election of obama because at least he ran a lemonade stand". When dishonesty is presented as fact I must reply.

First off I must admit my positive bias for former President Obama as he too is left handed. We are the minority of minorities so that representation is important.

That said, skud dismisses the first black president of Harvard Law Review, professor of Constitutional Law the University of Chicago who served his state as a Senator before turning to national politics as someone who "ran a lemonade stand". Yeah, I think former President Obama did more than that, but yeah, skud, tell me again how you aren't racist or a bigot.

I know politics gets a bad rap right now but what's missing from the conversation is religion. skud constantly tells us they don't watch FOX or other Right Wing media so where are they getting their inane ideas? Church is my first guess, specifically an IFB or other Fundamentalist cult where politics and religion are mixed in order to make real their wish for the End Times as predicted in the Christian Bible. Google Jesus Camp or Seven Mountains Dominionism for the background. Scary stuff, especially since their plan is well under way.

skud, you know exactly who 'Marge' is - Marjorie Taylor Greene. Honestly, you slime a human working for the greater good as 'not that bright' without any evidence of your opinion and ignore the bad behavior on the right?

Shall we really play this game? For every Democratic politician you believe is 'not worthy' I bet I can come up with at least five from the other side who've broken the law, been arrested, or have been convicted. Let's play skud. I'm ready with the receipts. Are you?

Seems this road is well traveled. As well as endless. This due to the rightwing's reified content and grasping after a truly non existant fixed reality. It's folks like skud that probably coined the phrase the more things change the more they stay the same. That's because THEY want things to turn back to what they were prior to 1960 and the good ole days of Jim Crow, segregated water fountains, and black folks who knew their place.

Skud extols Trump's "miracle".

"Regardless of what your feelings about trump at least he did what he said he was going to do. Improve border security, move embassy in Israel, reduce regulations spurring a business boom, reduce unemployment..."

Where's that wall he promised Mexico would pay for?

Where's that "best healthcare" he promised to replace Obamacare?

How many times did Trump promise his "Infrastructure plan", that was coming in the next couple weeks?

Obama brought us out of Bush's Great Recession and left Trump lower unemployment numbers than Trump left Biden.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/263710/unemployment-rate-in-the-united-states/

United States: Unemployment rate from 1999 to 2020

Obama's Unemployment Numbers:

2009: 9.25%
2010: 9.63%
2011: 8.95%
2012: 8.07%
2013: 7.38%
2014: 6.17%
2015: 5.28%
2016: 4.87%

Biden:

November 2020: 6.7%
March 2022: 3.6%

For obvious reasons, Trump will never be known as the "Jobs President".

No. He's the sore loser, Big Lie, Insurrection President... forever.

skudrunner said...

Grey, I do applaud obama because he became president after serving in congress for 18 months before he started campaigning. He was president of the law review who didn't publish anything but he did teach racism and the law in Chicago.

You believe that politicians look out for you if they are democrats. You probably believe biden was a full professor at penn and battery cars make sense.

Dube, did you really say the wall wasn't completed. Stopping it was the first thing biden did after he laid off thousands building the pipeline. Now we have 200,000 a month moving across the border and now they are being bused to the east coast soon to the colonies.

I do wish trump would go away because there are a few people who listen to him which is stupid. I want to meet the 32% who think joey is doing a good job because they are equally as stupid as a trump supporter.
