Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) on Friday warned of a coming “Cold War” between Florida and Georgia if Democratic candidate Stacey Abrams wins the gubernatorial election in the latter state.
During a press conference in Gulf County, located in northwest Florida, DeSantis referenced the ongoing Masters golf tournament in Georgia, using it as an apparent segue into discussing the state’s elections.
DeSantis said he “really appreciates our Georgians” but that voters would have to “take care” of the 2022 election to prevent Abrams from winning.
“If Stacey Abrams is elected governor of Georgia, I just want to be honest, that will be a cold war between Florida and Georgia,” he said. “I can’t have [former Cuban communist leader Raul] Castro to my south and Abrams to my north, that would be a disaster. So I hope you guys take care of that and we’ll end up in good shape.”
BTW, the idiot governor of Florida doesn't know that Raul Castro is NOT the leader of Cuba? The leader of Cuba is Miguel Díaz-Canel.
And the words, "take care" are threatening words to the voters of Georgia who would exercise their right to vote for a candidate of THEIR choice, not the choice of the tyrannical governor of Florida.

Is that threat the same as the republican controlled LA saying no employee can go to Texas or Georgia on business because those states allow parents to have a say in their children's education. Boycotting because of unfair treatment of minorities or for anti-abortion legislation (abortion is a LEGAL medical procedure) is always acceptable and, if you've read history, you'd know it works. DeSantis is not calling for a boycott of Georgia -- DeSantis is THREATENING the state's voters to "take care" (his words) if it votes for the candidate HE DOESN'T WANT.

Meanwhile, take a close look at the quality of candidates the Georgia Trumpublican Party is supporting. Start with Hershel Walker: He's lied in the proud tradition of Donald Trump about his educational background saying he was class valdictorian -- FACT: He wasn't.
And his former wife has accused him of making several threats against her life (at one time, according to her, he held a gun to her head and threatened to "blow her brains out.") Recently he wondered why there are "still monkeys" if we evolved from them. (outrageously ignorant question.) Walker's people have stated that he will not participate in any debates, and the reason for that is evident: His opponent would make him look like a fool.
DeSantis had nothing to say about the above inappropriate candidate for the US Senate, but is comfortable threatening the people of Georgia should they decide they want Stacey Abrams for their governor.

Shaw... Skud in his criticism of BLM Founder Cullors and Stacey Abrams are focused on a specific point of view. That both of them personally enriched themselves with money raised through a charity, using the tax deductible donations for personal gain, as opposed to their tax exempt purposes.
The current carping runs like this... both the BLM Founder and Abrams, used their organizations not to do good, but to enrich themselves, just like the Clintons with the Clinton Foundation.
If that has happened, it's horrible. And illegal. But if it did happen, it usually comes out in the highly audited 990's every political 501(c)3 must file.

A few thoughts... first Skud, can you provide a link to where Forbes states that Abrams new worth is 21 million? The figure I've seen bandied about is between 3-5 million. And that may be because of the $5 million book advance she got from Doubleday.
Second, the potential for fraud in large charities is huge. So is the potential for errors... through sloppy accounting. I get it, believe me. But here's the deal as it relates to you Skud and others...

Skud, Show us where Forbes has listed Abrams' net worth is $21M. I can't find it. The reputable sources I found all say her net worth is $3.17M earned while in the private sector. Brian Kemp has increased his net worth from around $6M in 2018 to @ $9M in 2021 while serving as Gov.
Any thoughts on Kushner's new investment firm getting $2B from MBS despite having no track record investing beyond failing at real estate (666 5th Ave.). Sounds kinda swampy.

Politics is rife with those on both sides trying to scam people out of money. But making false charges about Abrams or Cullors is especially low when, I'm sure, skud or anyone could find ACTUAL fraud -- as Dave Miller has pointed out -- that was committed by a former President and his family.

What's really amazing is that Skud Googled it, looked at the first entry and just believed it to be true. Probably because it fit his narrative. Then when he was called on it, in true Trumpian fashion, instead of walking it back, he doubles down.
All he had to do was drop down one entry and see a string of other entries citing her worth at around 3.5 million, and even offering up info as to where that came from.
It's the "I don't care what it says, I know what I believe is true even if there is no evidence to support it" defense.

It's called "bias confirmation." Skud saw something that confirmed a rumor he heard somewhere about Stacy Abrams's $21 million wealth. It's obvious he didn't bother to see if the link was a dependable one, only that it confirmed his bias against Abrams wealth.
Sadly, this is why this country is so damaged. People don't bother to check if anything is true anymore, they just use whatever sounds right to their prejudices.
Just the other day, I saw a Trumper interviewed at one of Trump's rallies. She told the interviewer that Dr. Fauci is in Gitmo. The interviewer asked if she could back up that claim, and all she said was that she just knew it and it was the truth.
Multiply that unfortunate woman's stupidity by the millions and understand why I don't believe we'll ever recover from the damage Trump did to this country.

Ms Shaw, The mueller report was not specific which is a legal way out. There was not compelling evidence to prove -H-'s incompetence caused the deaths of American's or not enough evidence to convict on selling favors by accepting millions to a charity that support your family. Another legal way out. The words don't say the report found trump guilty just we are not committing to that opinion.
