Apparently, M.T. Greene is not in Congress to do the people’s business, but only to troll everybody and assist with a coup d’etat of the American government.
How this person is tolerated in Congress is a mystery to me.

MT Green, whose website boasts of her “strong Christian faith,” sat down for an interview Thursday with right-wing activist Michael Voris, founder of Church Militant.
Right Wing Watch released a video excerpt of the interview yesterday, which showed Voris asking Greene about domestic Catholic organizations that help resettle undocumented immigrants and refugees.
“What it is, is Satan’s controlling the church,” MT Greene said. “The church is not doing its job, and it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ, and it’s not adhering to what the word of God says we’re supposed to do and how we’re supposed to live.”
Obviously, MT Greene knows nothing about what Christ said about welcoming the stranger.

The Catholic church is not Christian. So by def, it is controlled by Satan.
This is not by any means a universal viewpoint, but it is very prevelant.
But this part of her comment... “The church is not doing its job, and it’s not adhering to the teachings of Christ, and it’s not adhering to what the word of God says we’re supposed to do and how we’re supposed to live.” Is really troubling.
This is where a knowledgeable interviewer would have pressed her to show which specific teachings she was speaking about.
Then we could have seen her reaction to being called with a "gotcha" question.
Like, what teaching of Christ are we "not adhering" to?
She's a buffoon. And not a serious person or legislator.

Actually, MT Greene may know what Christ said. However, she, like millions of other X'tians simply wrap themseves in the blanket of Christ's words but ther actions (Karma) prove their hypocrisy.

Shaw, taking care of ones health in my opinion is more important than just about anything. I don't mind answering skud's many gallops of the Gish variety. In the future I will be more patient and gentle with their many idiosyncrasies.
I do battle with Christian Nationalists on another web site. As the many trolls I've encountered told me, Christs instructions to take care of the stranger never meant everyone, but to take care of those who worship as ones self, aka limit aid to only those with membership in the super special religious club. The death threats have been entertaining in an amusing hate porn sort of way.
Of course, their interpretation of the Christian Bible isn't even close to what Christ said but.... you know, I'm a heathen and how could I know in what context Jesus's words are to be interpreted even if I do know their holy book better than they do.
We The People are in a battle for our country (and by extension the Earth) and the Christian Nationalists (along with Putin) are fighting us every inch of the way. Yeah - that's a simplistic view but I believe if I take all things happening now and distill it down with an added bit of War of the Oligarchs it represents our here/now.
Which leads me to MTG and people like her who are broadcasting the quiet part out loud. This is what the Christian Nationalist set hears every week from the pulpit - their deity has a special plan for them, America is their shining city on the hill being overtaken by Satan and if they do what they are told the Rapture/Apocalypse will happen and only they will be lifted up to gaze down while the unbelievers burn during the years of fire.
Seriously, I couldn't make this stuff up - it's why they believe they have the obligation to limit another's rights (BIPOC, LGBTQA+) while demanding imaginary rights from businesses (MGT and Twitter).
How to fix all this? I've no clue. I escaped from the cult I lived in for 10 years because the cognitive dissonance became so stressful that when I was offered a way out I took it (thanks to my knight in shining leather). Those who follow MGT and by extension the defeated former guy are happy believing they are the highest form of human and everyone else is jealous of their supposed greatness. No converting that level of hate or Dunning Kruger effect.
Sun Tzu suggests one understands ones enemy - as do many of the ancient philosophers. In the spirit of due diligence I've suggested the video Jesus Camp - I add to the list the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and Right Wing Watch. All three watch the scary mega church sites so I don't have to dip into the Bog of Eternal Stench. Seriously, some of those pastors are all about the power instead of teaching what their Lord and Savior actually said.

I had a bit of a rough week, but I got through it. I don't like to go into detail about my personal health issues here because of the nasty, far right-wing trolls who infect my comment moderation folder.
And speaking of the far right-wing trolls, I often wonder why they're so full of hate and vitriol. What kind of solitary, poor, nasty, and brutish lives do they lead that makes them so unhappy and mean?
I was raised Catholic but left that religion years ago. I'm a nontheist -- a bit different from atheist/agnostic. A nontheist has no belief in gods. I don't say there is or isn't a god, I just have no belief in gods. Period. I do have family members and friends who are religious, and I have nothing unkind to say about their faith -- whatever gets a person through this vale of tears, as long as the religionists don't impose their beliefs on me. Yet, this country seems to be going in that direction.
The Nobel Laureate in physics, Steven Weinberg said it best, IMO. To paraphrase: "There will always be good people who do good things; there will always be evil people who do evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

Amazing, isn't it? Both the RCC and Protestant sects are Christian, but still suspicious and dubious about each other. At one point, Catholics were warned AGAINST marrying a Protestant -- a fellow Christian who believed in Christ! And, yes, I knew that some Protestant sects see the RCC as "Satan."

a lot of so-called "Christian" religionists don't really believe in their Savior's message but are more dedicated to tribalism and being one-up on all other religions. It's not about the message for those folks, it's about power and group-think.
MT Greene does not come off as particularly smart. But she does know how to keep her name in the news.

The fact that she is a major influencer within the current GOP shows that she is a "real problem."
Or maybe, that she shows what a real problem the GOP itself is.
That we have one of our two major political parties allowing such an unserious and uneducated person to have the megaphone she has to influence policy, indeed is a major problem not just for the GOP, but for the country as a whole.
MT Greene alone amonts to squat. Unfortunately as Dave suggested it is indeed the party of Trump in its fullness that is the heart a d core of the threat.
