Are you a billionaire who wants to invest in America?
You're welcome to do whatever you want, including ruining the environment and breaking labor laws or regulations.
It's Trump's way.
Sell America to the highest bidder and to hell with protecting and cherishing our land!
A billionaire's dream come true!

When life is viewed as transactional and the only value is wealth creation life becomes meaningless.
You Know Who is the transactional value free a-hole who with any luck will choke on his cheeseburger.
A new Glided Age?
We certainly don't want anyone investing in the US. After all that creates jobs and wealth for everyone. Much better to take your money off shore and to accomplish that we will regulate the hell out of you.
Do you think corporations could create jobs without ruining the environment -- polluting lakes and rivers and the air? Apparently Trump doesn't think so, and that's why he's all in for ignoring laws and regulations that keep our environment clean and safe.
I guess there are folks out there who agree with him.
Yup there certainly are. And when the human parasite destroys it's environment then all human life will perish.
You Know Who's long range plan perhaps? Cause his ignorant plan sure sounds like it.
Skud seems to believe that corporations will do the right thing if left unregulated.
Based on what? Experience? Past results?
Skud, I know business hates regulation. I'm sure you favor some level of controls, so what are they? How are they determined?
Do you think it is onerous for "we the people" through our government to demand that a business take care to protect the environment? Many in the 1960's did not, believing in the "free hand of the market" to push oil and gas companies to cut cancer and smog causing emissions.
How about what business did to the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland? Remember when a spark from a train hit the polluted water? Water caught on fire. Or more accurately, the pollution from local businesses, discharged into the river, caught fire.
Are the regulations that ended both these practices came from government regulations. So did higher MPG standards, safer electrical standards in building, better fire prevention standards after the MGM fire and more.
What is your method for determining which regulations are too harsh, business stifling and which ones are good for society.
And as you think about this, please, please, please don't answer with which regulations you don't like. Answer with how you determine which ones to keep and which ones to jettison.
Please folks, notice I never said, as a progressive, that conservatives hate the environment, a frequent meme when us lefties argue for better regulation. We don't hate business at all. Rather, like Pres Nixon, we believe business works best when it also cares for the American people.
Thus the EPA.
None of this should be either/or. But is incumbent on the ppl complaining about too much regulation to tell us how the decisions to cut regulations should be made.
Will it be an objective decision, or will it be based on satisfying the needs and wishes of the political class and donors?
I guess I missed the part about only polluting businesses apply. And here I thought it was designed to bring jobs to the US, wow I feel silly now.
skud, there are reasons why many of us do not trust corporations to do the right thing vis-a-vis the environment and people's health.
"In the winter of 2021, the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Economic and Consumer Policy published a USHR Report entitled Baby Foods Are Tainted with Dangerous Levels of Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium, and Mercury (the “USHR Report”). The USHR Report detailed the results of the Subcommittee’s investigation into claims that Beech-Nut and many other commercial baby food brands were being sold with heavy metals above maximum safe limits.
The investigation fully confirmed that Beech-Nut and other major brands of baby foods “are tainted with significant levels of toxic heavy metals, including arsenic, lead, cadmium, and mercury.” The USHR Report also noted the evidence showing that exposure to these contaminants is harmful to infant neurological development and brain function."
Baby food. If you can't trust a corporation to be careful with their food products FOR BABIES! what can they be trusted for?
What will the poor foreign millionaires do?
The EB-5 visa, also known as the "Million-Dollar Investor" visa, is a business-based visa that allows foreign nationals to invest in a US business and obtain a work permit and permanent residency:
Investment amount
The minimum investment is $800,000 in a Targeted Employment Area or Rural Area, and $1,050,000 elsewhere.
It must satisfy the desires and greed of the American capitalist oligarchs to pass muster with You Know Who and the MAGA cult.
They can ABSOLUTELY be trusted to put profits and greed at the pinnacle of their corporation's intentions and motivations. Even when it comes to food for developing infants the primary focus rests in maximizing profts for shareholders. Babies health? Not so important.
GREED RULES AMERICAN CORPORATIONS
If We The People hadn't already played this game I'd be less... critical of the offer. The Robber Baron class (now the oligarchs) tried to do the same back in the day; eliminate regulations and do whatever they wanted, whenever and wherever. The result? Death and destruction. Really Grey One?
Yep. Where do you think inspiration for the Melodramas from back in the day came from? The evil financier, the shady businessman who was stealing properties from widows and children? Every piece of art has a nugget of truth at it's core. We've done this before. And now we need to clean house again before what happened then (dust bowl, Great Depression) happens again.
Great solution Skud.
Maybe replacements for the US wealthy who are leaving in droves?
"a recent study from Henley & Partners revealed that many American millionaires are hedging their bets and pursuing dual citizenships. The 2024 USA Wealth Report by Henley & Partners and New World Wealth revealed that inquiries regarding residency requirements for citizenship and citizenship-by-investment programs grew by 500% in the past five years."
Why? "American millionaires are moving overseas, and it's not to dodge taxes, a consultancy firm says. They're trying to future-proof their wealth, fearing crime and instability in the US, per the analysis." Trump is inviting those who thrive on crime and instability. Welcome to Somalia West.
If I we're multimillionaire I'd have dual citizenship. Spend 11 months of the year in Asia or Europe and visit the US 1 month each year in April.
Avoidance of the ignorance of You Know Who and the trumpublican BS on the daily basis would be r the reason.
Our society is very ill. It especially does not portend well that the leader of the free world will soon be a rich convicted criminal corrupt adjudicated rapist who has never been held accountable for any of his crimes. People think they can commit murder & get away w/it thanks to Trump’s example.
I say conservatives hate the environment passionately and strongly desire to see it harmed/polluted to the point where it is significantly less hospitable to human life. Apparently they believe humanity should commit suicide. I say that's fine if they wish to kill themselves, but that they have no right to make that decision for others.
Yes, we hate the global warming scam.
FJ-, if climate change is a scam where did the ice go? It’s melted and refroze before but now? Yeah where’s the ice?
