"If confirmed as planned, Trump's will be an "administration of unprecedented, mind-boggling wealth" that would break the record set by his previous term in office by "billions of dollars," Axios said. Although politicians in this country have traditionally "been wealthier than most Americans,"
Trump's billionaire Cabinet plan marks an "escalation of what's been a consistent feature in American politics," Axios said in a separate article. Although "wealthy Americans who have had successful careers in business have long served in government," said The Washington Post, Trump's "high concentration of ultra-wealthy picks" opens the door for "distinct conflict-of-interest risks" and undercuts the president-elect's populist campaign messaging."

"By tapping billionaires to 'lead key economic departments,' Trump has raised questions on "whether his administration will follow through on promises to boost the working class," The New York Times said. Although it'd be "foolish" to say that billionaires should be excluded from public service wholesale, Trump's abundance of high net worth nominees stands in contrast to "all the post-election chatter about Democrats and 'elites,'" --Steve Benen.

"Ultimately, warned Bookbinder to The New Republic, there are 'two major problems' that come with an administration packed with billionaires. 'One is very specific conflicts of interest,' in which officials may be given responsibilities that overlap with their personal wealth. More generally, 'you want to have a government that looks out for the American people.' With billionaires at the helm, there's a 'real risk that that government is going to broadly govern for the benefit of the very wealthy rather than in the interest of regular people.' "

On Tuesday, Musk posted on "X" that homelessness is a “lie” and a “propaganda word.” He suggested that most unhoused people are “violent drug addicts” who cannot be helped.
According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, the causes of homelessness are many. Economic hardship and lack of affordable housing are the two leading causes of homelessness.
Musk fancies himself an expert on many things; but, in fact, he's uninformed on most of the issues facing the U.S. and even on how the U.S. government works. He's just another elite multi-billionaire who will inhabit Trump's highest priced swamp and who, because he's rich, thinks he knows how to solve our government's many, many problems.

You Know Who has never been honest with the American people and he sure has hell isn't going to start now. If anything, having all the power and protection from the corrupt scotus, he will be even more dishonest, untrustworthy, self-serving, and crimminal.
He is in the process of attempting to rewrite history to reflect his personally ignorant, deluded, and corrupt narratives.
And, his cult will bow and kiss his ring.
Shaw, of course Trump is cozying up to billionaires. We've elected a plutocracy, not much different from the oligarchs of Russia. And the suckers that voted for him made it happen because they believed his promises regarding the economy. These promises...
“Prices will come down..."
“You just watch: They’ll [prices] come down, and they’ll come down fast, not only with insurance, with everything.”
“We will end inflation and make America affordable again, and we’re going to get the prices down, we have to get them down...”
“It’s too much. Groceries, cars, everything. We’re going to get the prices down.”
“We will cut your taxes and inflation, slash your prices, raise your wages and bring thousands of factories back to America...”
Now?
He's refused to guarantee prices won't rise as a result of his tariffs and said this regarding prices in his Time "Person of the year" interview,,,
"“I'd like to bring them [prices] down. It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard. But I think that they will...”
No more guarantees? No bravado? Is he backtracking? Or was he lying on the campaign trail?
What will folks who voted for him say when the promised price reductions do not come, when inflation is not ended, when the price of cars, gas, insurance, literally everything, does not come down?
History will judge. Caligula though he was wonderful too.
Classic Republican view: "Government of the people, by the people, and for the people."
Modern Republican view: "Government of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich".
It is terrible what he is doing. He is trying to get advisors who have accomplished something instead of checking a box, being his mentors pick or political payback.
Skud is as delusional as any MAGA cultist. Maybe Skud thinks the likes of Jared, Don Jr. Lara and Eric are gifted and brilliant?
We know that "advisors who have accomplished something" means spoiled rotten pricks who inherited or conned their wealth.
The ONLY factor that "qualifies" people under Trump is their LOYALTY to their FUHRER. Competence, education and experience have never mattered.
If he can't see that, he's too far deranged to be in this conversation.
Yeah. That explains his first choice for Atty. Gen. of the U.S.: Matt Gaetz, who practiced law for exactly 2 years and was being investigated for pedophilia by his own party. And his choice for head of the Dept. of Defense, whose own mother said he was an wife-abusing drunk and who has zero experience in running anything as huge as the Pentagon.
Those are just two hideously inappropriate choices. There are dozens more -- Dept. of Ed. -- a woman who ran WWE and is accused of failing to stop sexual abuse in the 1980s within WWE, which she led at the time.
You obviously listen to Trump propaganda and not facts.
skud is either playing stupid for the fun of it or...
