Hope Hicks, long considered one of President Donald Trump’s most trusted advisers, is resigning her job as White House communications director, several outlets confirmed Wednesday.

“Hope is outstanding and has done great work for the last three years,” Trump said in a statement to The New York Times. “She is as smart and thoughtful as they come, a truly great person. I will miss having her by my side but when she approached me about pursuing other opportunities, I totally understood. I am sure we will work together again in the future.”

Hicks is expected to finish out her job in the next few weeks. Her resignation comes one day after her eight-hour testimony before the House Intelligence Committee, which is investigating Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

According to reports, Hicks admitted during her testimony that Trump sometimes required her to tell “white lies.”

Does anyone have a count on how many people in the Chaos administration have been fired, resigned, or been indicted? Or had his security clearance downgraded?

For eight years the NRA and the GOP warned their members that President Obama was coming for their guns. President Obama never, never, never uttered the words Trump did today. Where are the howls from the NRA and the GOP bellowing that TRUMP IS COMING TO GET YOUR GUNS WITHOUT DUE PROCESS IF YOU'RE MENTALLY ILL! The NRA has been against this because they've said it isn't fair or constitutional to people who have mental illnesses to deprive them of their 2nd Amendment rights.

CNN, DALLAS NEWS, USAToday, among other media are reporting:

Trump: Take the Guns First. Due Process Later - NYMag

Shaw, this was written on the Mother ship.

Perhaps the GOP is ignoring Micael Steele because he was corrupt and incompetent. Have we reached that stage in our devolvement where we recognize people because of skin color, while ignoring their flawed character or performance of duty?

Can anyone explain to me how a Trumper can in all seriousness write that without any self awareness?

To the person who wrote it: Yes. You definately reached that state in your non-development because you support the definition of flawed character and incompetence in duty. Holy Sheet!

Shaw... regarding the Trump stance on confiscating weapons and worrying about due process and laws later...

Sen Joe Manchin when asked about why ppl believed Obama would do what Trump proposed but are okay with Trump coming after their guns stated that ppl generally, the "guns and bible" crowd generally trust that Trump, despite his rhetoric, will not actually do what he says.

They're all living in some parallel upside down false fact infested fantasy land not based in reality.

So,says the person who signed a law making it easier for mentally ill people to get guns. I call bullshit!

No surprise. tRrump is operating EXACTLY as many predicted. What is surising is how his strongest supporters have been so completely duped. As they continue to adore him.

We are living in the Age of the Cult of Trump. Truth and Reason have left the room.

How did 46% of the country get completely duped to win him the election. As Bill Maher would say, Americans are stupid.

It appears from reports that Miss Hicks like her boss is a g-d liar. Who's surprised that a corrupt liaar would attract other liars to work for him

Breitbart "News" is reporting that Trump said he wants to take away guns and worry and worry about due process, or the Constitution later.

If a Dem, any Dem, had said this, every extremist and conservative blog we read would be up in arms and calling us lefties a bunch of America hating 2nd Amendment killing commies.

Their silence today is deafening...

If Trump is coming for the guns of the mentally ill, what about the slippery slope? Everything is a slippery slope with these people.

It quite evident that those conservatives who are letting what Trump said pass wwithout commnent are the same conservatives who have given up any shred of morality they claimed to have when they decided that Trump was a great example for the children of America and the embodiment of Republican values -- those values which are now rendered worthless because the conservatives who back Trump willingly made and continue to make excuses for their president who has no dignity, no honor, and not a drop of decency in his bloated body.

IOW, the Trumpistas truly believe Trump's word is worthless, but they'll stick with the mendaciou liar as long as he gave them a pittance of a tax break. They'd support Satan himself if he gave them his word.

The public response to the latest shooting has a different feeling.
The overall disgust with tRump and a feeling that finally enough is enough but the pressure has to be consistent and continuous given Lord Dampnut's short attention span.

His attention could easily shift to the market tanking after the idiot virtually declared a trade war.

But some good may finally arrive on the gun issue. It's truly an ill wind that blows no good.

Anyone betting Sessions is the next to leave?

Does tRump actually have a master plan? One that includes playing the people. Both sides. While he is LHAO?

Interesting thought.

Ducky... you think "Mr Magoo" as Trump calls Sessions would really resign? Or Kelly? Or McMaster?

I think all those guys see themselves as the last line of defense and honor for our government. Yeah, their politics is counter to everything I believe in, but I see them as at least somewhat principled, something never evident in Trump.

If you're right Dave let us hope the last line holds. Until We the People can vote to flip and replace in 2018 and 2020. Hopefully as a nation we're still capable of discerning truth and reality.

Well Les... I'm no utopian believer. I know, as do most, that politicians lie and will continue to do so. In some, if not many cases, it's a necessary evil so as to mislead your enemies, both here and abroad.

The truth struggle with Trump is that while he may be doing that diplomatically, which in my opinion is not a problem, he lies about day to day factual stuff the whole world can see. It is that level of lying that has repeatedly harmed his presidency. And in a need to show support for "their side" extremist conservatives who to this day are angry that HRC lied and shaded the truth, can seem to see or admit that he is doing the same.

I doubt they're incapable of discerning truth, because even the Mother Ship has people who acknowledges it. They just are unable to see a double standard, choose to ignore it and don't see it as a problem. At least until a Dem occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
