EJ Dionne of the Washington Post says what I have been saying for months and months about the people who support Trump and Trump himself.

How can a loyal American even THINK of supporting this madman?

Dionne:  "This should be a wake-up call to political analysts who have gone out of their way since Trump announced his candidacy to pretend that he was the ingenious creator of a political special sauce who deserved our respect for "speaking his mind." No, Trump all along has been a clinically self-involved con man who never took the issues, the presidency or the future of our country seriously. Can there be any doubt that his campaign is a branding exercise gone, quite literally, mad?

If this Trump episode [namely, the Alicia M. tweets] does not lead to a flood of defections among Republican politicians supporting him, they will be on record as putting party loyalty (or fear of Trump’s followers in GOP primaries) over the need to protect the nation from a truly unhinged leader. And this should be the end of the pretense, which sometimes drives the media, that whatever might be wrong with Trump, there are things equally wrong with Clinton. Sorry. Clinton may have her problems, but she has never, ever behaved like this."

I strongly recommend Infidel753's astute essay on The Trump movement and what it means.

More scandal on Crooked Donald:

Trump Foundation ordered to cease fundraising in New York
AG Eric Schneiderman's office says charity is not registered to solicit contributions.

"According to tax records, Trump’s foundation has subsisted entirely on donations from others since 2008, when Trump gave his last personal donation. This year, the Trump Foundation made its most wide-ranging request for donations yet: It set up a public website, donaldtrumpforvets.com, to gather donations that Trump said would be passed on to veterans’ groups.

But the Trump Foundation never registered under article 7A of New York’s Executive Law, as is required for any charity soliciting more than $25,000 a year from the public. One important consequence: Trump’s foundation avoided rigorous outside audits, which New York law requires of larger charities that ask the public for money."

What a low-down cheat and scammer.

Thanks for the link!

The broad masses of Trumpanzees are in this because they were lured in by a con man who, to be fair, is quite good at pushing their buttons. Those Republican politicians who have fallen into line are a different matter. They know Trump for what he is, or they should. For them, there is no excuse -- and no defense when we use their complicity to brand the Republicans "the party of Trump" for decades to come.

There is enough evidence available to convince clear thinking adults that this man is a sleazy con artist.
Everything that his handlers have used to construct his image has pretty much been debunked.

But his support is still substantial, why?
I think it's because there is a large element of working and middle class white America who see their way of
life fading away and he has used every dog whistle available to promote himself as the one who understands.

It remains to be seen if that group can swing a national election but we know that as Himself says, he could shoot
someone on 5th Avenue and not lose votes. He knows his audience.

Not that you really nee more evidence that he's disgusting

Trump on vet suicide: “they see things…a lot of folks in this room see & you’re strong & you can handle it, but some ppl can’t handle it.”

Maybe he has finally gone too far? I doubt it but, maybe.

Ducky, Trump already told America and the world that he could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot someone, and his demented followers would still support him. What else do we need to now about him and his supporters?

Trump has insulted everyone except large breasted beauty queens and white supremacists!

Ducky, I responded @ 6:13 before I read your comment @5:43!

We know with absolute certainty that if Trump were a Democrat, the usual right wing bloggers would be apoplectic over what a damnable horse's ass he is, but because he's NOT HILLARY! He's seen as a sane GOP candidate. This is desisive evidence of their utter failure as human beings. That they could support a seedy demagogue like Trump proves that.

In a series of tweets beginning early Monday morning, conservative author Michael Reagan renounced his support for Donald Trump’s candidacy and said that neither Nancy nor Ronald Reagan would have supported the Republican nominee.

Reagan, the son of the former President and his first wife, Jane Wyman, has recently criticized Trump in his columns. On Thursday, he wrote that Trump "doesn’t know when it’s time to just shut up” in response to the GOP nominee's targeting of former Miss Universe Alicia Machado and his clumsy handling of a birtherism question at the first presidential debate.

Reagan’s tweets began as a response to Trump making the bizarre claim Saturday at a campaign rally in Manheim, Pennsylvania that Hillary Clinton had been unfaithful in her marriage.

Both of Reagan's sons, Ron Reagan, Jr., and Michael Reagan, have stated that their father and mother would NOT support Trump, the demagogue. Yet the TeaPublicans still support this damaged idiot.

Infidel753, agreed. They should be shunned and shamed for all eternity for their stupidity and complicity in backing this disaster.

Attention all you liberals, i wish to inform you ALL that us Trump supporters don't give a RATS ASS about his taxes, we just want him to make America Great again.

Ducky's here said...

AHAA -- you want to make America great again but you don't care about his taxes.

Okay, how is a man who lost a bundle in the casino business when East Coast gaming had not become overextended and was making a bundle the right choice to invigorate the economy?

Does a guy who takes an accelerated depreciation allowance when his real estate portfolio has increased in value sound like someone who is going to be concerned with how tax policy effects you?

Just curious.

tRump is floundering. He might be intentionally trying to lose the election he never really thought he would actually be running in.

Trump Media is where his interest really is. It could be yuuuge and make big bucks for the Trump Brand. After all Trump is all about Trump.

Con Man extraordinaire. Indeed.

I will take exception you your statement about non-democrats. As a non-democrat I will admit Trump is a horses ass and his business tactics are more proof that the tax system needs a major overhaul. This is something every president since Washington has said but non of them will do anything about. Ever the special interest president said that was on his agenda and did nothing of course that follows his bring the country together mantra.

It is standard banter that people want change but they really don't and out politically corrupt will do everything they can to prevent change. They only do what is in their best interest. Few people I know are happy with their choice this year but you have to make up you mind do you want a horses ass or a crook and liar.

"...do you want a horses ass or a crook and liar."

I know, skud. I say that about Trump every day to my Tennessee relatives: A horse's ass or a crook and liar -- Trump is something for everyone.

I'll second "go read the Infidel post." And say how bad do you have to be to get to where a crazy-ass right winger like Michael Reagan won't support you as a Republican?
