The Shame of the Republican President

After being asked about Putin's comments bashing liberal democracy, our "stable genius" replied:

"If you look at what's happening in Los Angeles, San Francisco [cities] run by a group of liberal people..."

The Idiot-in-Chief doesn't know the difference between liberalism in the political theory sense and "liberal" in the American domestic politics sense. His cognitive sorting system is "good" or "bad." Once he hears "liberal" the system spits out "LIBERAL. BAD!" Artificial Intelligence could give a more thoughtful, informed answer.

Trump is too stupid and ignorant to understand that liberal democracy refers to the form of government we have in North America, Western Europe, and British Commonwealth countries. Putin asserted that our form of government based on individual liberties is obsolete and failing.

The Republican's moronic president, the "stable genius," has no idea of what "Liberal Democracy" means, and his Cultists voted the imbecile to lead and represent America.

What a colossal tragedy Trump is; and the entire world, except his Cultists, knows this.

For the TrumpCultists and those who regularly read my blog, here is the definition of "liberal democracy":

Liberal democracy is generally understood to be a system of government in which people consent to their rulers, and rulers, in turn, are constitutionally constrained to respect individual rights. However, widely divergent views exist regarding the meaning of consent and individual rights, of the particular forms of government that are best suited to the preservation of popular rule and the protection of rights, and of the types and effectiveness of constitutional constraints within particular forms of government. Nonetheless, liberal democracy is common throughout most of the developed world.

And here's "liberal," defined by President John F. Kennedy, as a domestic political doctrine:

“If by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people-their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights and their civil liberties-someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal", then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal.”

How does it feel, America, to have a so-called president not know the form of government he was selected by Russia to lead, a liberal representative democracy?

The only leaders who seem to admire Trump are murderous dictators: Putin and Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Trump also sucks up to Kim Jong Un, y'know, the guy he says he "fell in love with."

It feels crappy. But what would we expect from a crappy human being?

It's not just Trump that regurgitates the deadender sound bites. Got plenty of them programmed critters scurrying around.

That's all well and good but you can't deny liberal controlled cities on the west coast are becoming third would he'll holes. Thousands living on the streets, sidewalks littered with needles.

Anonymous @1:30 PM

Please Google the standings for education, health care, and poverty for ENTIRE STATES that have been in Republican control for decades, then get back to me.

Wait, I'll do it for you:

These states have the highest percentages of poverty in the country: Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, South Carolina, Arizona, and Georgia.

Least educated:

Mississippi: 21.
West Virginia: 22.
Louisiana: 23.
Arkansas: 27.
Alabama: 31.

Anon... actually we can deny that liberal cities are becoming "he'll" holes. {BTW, it's one word, hellhole, with no punctuation.}

Your needle reference implies a preponderance of drug abuse. Here's a few facts from Becker's Hospital Review...

1. Alabama has the most opioid prescriptions in the U.S., with 142.9 prescriptions for every 100 residents. Hawaii has the least, with 52 opioid prescriptions for every 100 Hawaiians.

2. West Virginia has the most drug overdose deaths, with 42 fatal overdoses for every 100,000 residents. That rate is six times higher than Nebraska, which has the fewest overdose deaths with 7 per 100,000 residents.

3. Colorado has the highest percentage of teens who used illicit drugs in the past month, at 14.58 percent. Iowa has the lowest rate of 6.31 percent. Colorado also has the highest percentage of adults who used illicit drugs in the past month, at 17.06 percent, while South Dakota has the lowest, at 5.76 percent.

4. New Jersey has the highest percentage of teens who have been offered, sold or given an illegal drug on school property, at 30.7 percent. Iowa has the lowest rate, at 11.9 percent.

5. Washington, D.C., has the highest percentage of adults who needed but didn't receive treatment for illicit drug use in the past year, at 3.21 percent. Wyoming has the lowest rate of 1.83 percent.

I doubt you'll find a single liberal controlled city on the west coast in any of those states. Maybe you studied geography in the same red state you got your spelling education.

Sure do look like those bible thumping red state poverty basins could use some liberal enlightenment. Eh Anonymous?

Shaw, what does that have to do with the present horrid situations in LA,ST and Seattle?
Thousands living on public streets, used needles all over the ground, human feces on the sidewalks and now typhus in LA.
What does that have to do with education in southern states?

The only liberal west-coast city which looks like a "third world hell hole" right now is our state capital Salem, in the sense that it's overrun with lawless armed thugs threatening and disrupting the state government as if we were some kind of banana republic. If Oregon were a separate country, this would be called a coup attempt.

Oh, sorry, the wingnut said "he'll hole". Some kind of reference to Trump golfing?

Can “anonymous” stop deflecting and speak to the actual topic of the post — basically what a moron Scared Donald is?

Just what does that have to do with 40,000 people (many of them drug users) living on the streets of LA, SF and Seattle combined.

Dave Miller said...

Anon... I assume by ST, you mean SF.

Look, any serious understanding of homelessness in the US would indeed note that in the west, there are more homeless people than other states and area, including liberal New York. It would also include an understanding of the role of climate, as many have noted. Simply put, the weather is better in the west, so it has become a magnet for homeless people.

Who would want to sleep outside in cold freezing weather?

Sure there are problems in some west coast cities, but as has been pointed out here, a lot of American cities, and states have problems.

But that was not the question, or subject Pres Trump was asked about. It was what he responded to, because he didn't understand the concept of Western Liberal Democracy. A sad mark for the presidency.

Aren't Colorado, New Jersey and D.C. deep blue already?

Ms Shaw, I believe anon 1:30 was referring to cities and you referenced states, just an over-site I'm sure. I use to visit SF at least four time a year but a year ago will be my last. It has turned into a cesspool.

Liberals do not seem to object to the conditions our street residents live in but let an illegal get mistreated and all hell breaks loose. Illegals take a lot of money which could be used for something else.
