Unless you've been living under a rock,...

everyone knows by now that the Republicans' president openly and brazenly bragged that, if given the chance, he would gladly break the law to be re-elected.

None of his cultists find anything wrong with this, which only strengthens the observation of millions of sane Americans that Trump's supporters have given up any claims to patriotism and love of country just so they can have a so-called president "stick it to the libtards."

FEC Chair: It’s Illegal To Accept Election Help From Foreign Governments

"Weintraub’s warning was direct: “Let me make something 100% clear to the American public and anyone running for public office: It is illegal for any person to solicit, accept, or receive anything of value from a foreign national in connection with a U.S. election.”

“This is not a novel concept,” she added.

In a two-day interview with ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos, Trump said there was nothing wrong with accepting intelligence from foreign entities. He dismissed the act as “oppo research.” “I think you might want to listen,”

Trump said, when asked what he would do if a foreigner reached out to him with election information. “I think there’s nothing wrong with listening. If somebody called from a country, Norway, [and said], ‘We have information on your opponent.’ Oh, I think I’d want to hear it.”

He also suggested that he would only alert the FBI if he “thought there was something wrong.”

In her memo on Thursday, Weintraub said that “electoral intervention from foreign governments” has been unacceptable for as long as the United States has been a country.

Quoting a 1787 letter from John Adams to Thomas Jefferson, Weintraub said the Founding Fathers had already “sounded the alarm about ‘foreign Interference, Intrigue and Influence.’”

Weintraub didn’t name any politicians or presidents on Thursday but she did warn about the consequences of interacting with a foreign national during an election. “Anyone who solicits or accepts foreign assistance risks being on the wrong end of a federal investigation,” she said.

MORE ON THIS LATER.

Unless you've been living under a rock... you're aware that extreme partisans from the right savaged Pres Obama for naming "Czars" to certain positions.

Unless you've been living under a rock... you'd know that today Pres Trump has named Tom Homan as his "Border Czar."

Unless you're living under a rock... you'dknow that not one member of the GOP, the Faux News Crowd, The Geez Blog folks, or any other extremist uninformed commenter will have any problem with Trump having Czars.

But what else should we expect from a party with a spokesperson who traffics in her own "alternative facts" a president who instructs his people to lie, and bloggers who are proud to feature, as they call them, false facts?

Who cares? The lowest unemployment in 50 years, lowest black unemployment in history, 3% groth, wages up for the first time in many years, 7 million jobs avilable.
That's what well minded Americans really care about.

Our demented Deceiver in Chief admitted he would commit treason by consorting with a foreign agent in a heartbeat to get information to win re-electio n and no one is going to do anything to stop him.

Ray and others...

Today President Trump has backtracked, in practice admitting that what he said in the interview with George S of ABC was either wrong, or a problem. Why else would you change your response?

Now, let's ask those GOP defenders of his, whose legs he just cutoff, what they were defending? Since POYUS saw it as wrong, wrong enough to retreat, where are those folks now?

Now, when Pres Trump took office he said these words... "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

He has been told that Kellyanne Conway violated the law. That in effect, in the process of her job, she has repeatedly broken the law and used taxpayer funds for campaign purposes. And yet Pres Trump keeps her in the White House even as a Trump appointee in charge of the FEC says she should be fired.

Why can't the House open an investigation and subpoena the GOP Senators who will sit in judgement on impeachment, and ask the following question...

If a president fails to fire a Federal employee who has repeatedly broken federal law while doing his or her job, is that a failure to "preserve, protect and defend" the Constitution?

Anon just described what Oscar Wilde defined as a cynic: "Someone who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing." That's today's Republican Party and the TrumpCultists.

Of course it's a failure. The DOJ is protecting a criminal president, and his supporters are enabling him as well. A majority of Americans are angry and enraged at what Trump's done to this country and its laws. The TrumpCultists, IMO, are not Americans. Americans are the people who are astounded that one malignant narcissistic liar and con man could so easily upend all that was true and good in this country.

The folks who look the other way while Trump continues to break the law are the same folks who accuse President Obama of being corrupt and lawles -- and who never offer a shred of evidence to back up that lie. They refuse to see Trump as he is: Corrupt and lawless. They refuse to see what is in front of their noses.
