Good Morning. This is the GOP's preznit advising Americans on the Coronavirus. IGNORE HIM!

Image may contain: 1 person, possible text that says 'CBS News In News last said "hundreds of thousands of people" coronavirus "get better sitting around to work" despite the the medical community been explicitly telling anyone who feels to stay home. https://cbsn.ws/2lijLSOP Well, think the 3.4% is really a false Now, my hunch, but based a lot of conversations....A lot people have and it's very mild. They'll get better very rapidly...We We have thousands or hundreds of thousands of people that get better by sitting going to work. Some of them go to work, but they get better. President Donald Trump' ...............................................

The GOP's preznit tweeted this today:

Image may contain: 1 person ..
Trump is a sick, unbalanced man, grossly incompetent and unable to lead America during this Coronavirus threat.

May I remind everyone of this:

No one who served in the Obama administration was indicted or went to jail for corruption. No one.

Seven people close to Trump in his administration have been indicted and are in jail.

Michael Flynn is awaiting sentencing. He's already pleaded GUILTY.

The Mueller Report stated that “If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state.”

And Trump was IMPEACHED, but the Senate partisans acquitted him.

A total of seven women have come forward with accusations of inappropriate behavior, with three of them speaking out after former Vice President Joe Biden responded to the previous allegations in a video posted to Twitter Wednesday.

Really, Anon?

Here's some news for you: 20+ women and one girl accused President "Grab 'em by the P***y" of sexual assault, harassment, and rape, and people like YOU still voted for him.

Why did you come running here to report this about Biden? You and the folks who voted for trump obviously don't have a problem with sexual assault, harassment, or rape when trump was accused of it, why are you concerned about Biden hugging women?

Let me explain something you don't get: Sexual assault and rape are NOT the same thing as unwanted hugging. Biden has never been accused of sexual assault and rape as your hero, President "Grab 'em by the P***y" has.

Nice comeback Shaw... now back to the Coronavirus.

President Trump has said everyone who wants or needs to be tested can get tested. Except there are not enough test kits.

President Trump has said we have a perfect plan. Except when asked about that plan, Housing Sec Carson was asked about that plan he said it was "still being formulated."

President Trump has claimed the corona virus has been contained. Except that is not true, as the virus continues to evolve.

President Trump has said "The stock market looks very good to me". As it shudders this morning in the middle of a 2000 point drop.

In 2018 President Trump decided the Pandemic team on the NSC was not needed so he disbanded them. And now the Admin is scrambling to respond.

I could go on, but the point has been made. And the question is this...

Is President Trump, even as he maligns a governor in the middle of this crises, a reassuring president who seems to understand the issues?

I'll let Anon, Skud and the rest of the conservative rabble respond.

BTW... here's a doozy of a tweet from the Ebola scare that in retrospect, was handled pretty smoothly and with a ton of professionalism, no name calling and little hyperbole...

With all that is happening with Ebola, including the doctor who so easily came back to New York, Obama still refuses to stop the flights!

Any guesses who that came from? Yep, the same man who silenced his health professionals when they suggested banning elderly people and at risk people from flying and cruising.

I wonder why he was for a flight ban before he was against it?

Dave, you've done a great job of showing the mixed-messaging, and chaos that's been delivered by the Trump administration.

The coronavirus would be a challenge to any administration. But for trump, who has more than 16,000 documented lies in three years to his discredit, it is an impossible challenge.

Markets are giving trump the massive, unequivocal no-confidence vote he has earned through his shameless dissembling and boundless incompetence.

An excellent summary of where the Trump Admin is at this moment as it relates to their Corona Virus response. From Brian Klaas of the WAPO...

"During crises, ideology kills. Protecting myths, rather than people, is deadly.

The rapidly worsening coronavirus outbreak is President Trump’s Chernobyl. By putting dangerous myths above objective facts, Trump has turned the crucial early phases of government response into a disaster. Some public health experts in government have undoubtedly kept quiet, having seen repeatedly what happens to those who publicly contradict this president. And Trump himself, along with those who surround him, has tried to construct a reality that simply does not exist."

The GOP used to decry politicians who even shaded the truth. Their disgust with Hillary Clinton was, and remains stratospheric because of her struggles to be open and truthful. Yet for some reason they have no problems with our current president lying, shading the truth, making stuff up, and saying dumb, objectively wrong things related to our current crises.

Again I ask... is our president making things better? Is he a reassuring presence on the world health stage?

Dave Today Trump tweeted out a message that said the Obama/Biden administration is the most corrupt in the history of the United States.

What possessed him to do that today? Who knows. But someone needs to point out the fact that no one who served in that administration was indicted or went to jail for corruption. No one.

Seven people close to Trump in his administration have been indicted and are in jail.

Michael Flynn is awaiting sentencing. He's already pleaded GUILTY.

The Mueller Report stated that “If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state.” –
And Trump was IMPEACHED, but the Senate partisans acquitted him.

That trump tweeted that message out today indicates he's a mentally unbalanced man. Think about that as we navigate this coronavirus challenge!

We have no leadership in this time of crisis. What we have is malignant narcissist with no regard for the safety and well being of Americans.

Trump should have anticipated this mediavirus and made plans to avoid it. He should have stocked up on test kits and already had a vaccine. Totally incompetent and something the swell guy would have been ahead of. He would have drawn a line in the sand and let another country bail him out. Where is he when the country needs his leadership because no one was deemed incompetent under his watch.

What you don't know, and that's obvious from your comment, is that President Obama put into place a Pandemic Response Team and Trump got rid of it two years ago. Also Trump tried to defund the CDC.

"The fact that they explicitly dismantled the office in the White House that was tasked with preparing for exactly this kind of a risk is hugely concerning," Jeremy Konyndyk, who ran foreign disaster assistance in the Obama administration, told the Guardian. "Both the structure and all the institutional memory is gone now."

Instead, Trump has looked within his administration to fill roles for the coronavirus response.

Last month, Trump appointed his Health and Human Services Secretary, Alex Azar, to chair a coronavirus task force. On Feb. 26, he announced that Vice President Mike Pence would be taking charge of the U.S. response to the coronavirus. Mike Pence doesn't believe in science.

So your comment is uninformed. Yes, President Obama would have been competent and would have done a thousand times better job of responding to the coronavirus threat.

You should see a therapist to find out why your hatred of a decent, competent, honest man like Barack Obama puts you into such a rage and why you support a man who lies, cheats, and is a fraud.

Today Trump tweeted out that the Obama administration is the most corrupt administration in the history of America.

Not one person in the Obama administration was criminally indicted or went to jail.

So far, 7 close aides of Trump are IN JAIL, and Mike Flynn is awaiting sentencing. Trump had to pay a $25 million fine for cheating people out of their money with his fake Trump U. and Trump had to shut down his fake Foundation he stole from and pay a fine for cheating with that as well.

Trump was impeached for his corruption in trying to get a foregin country to help him win re-election. And the Mueller Report says he obstructed justice many times.

SO YES, BARACK OBAMA IS A SWELL GUY, AND HONEST DECENT GUY and the fact that you need to trash him every time you come here says more about your lack of judgement than ANYTHING about Barack Obama.

I'm damned tired of your trashing a good man and saying nothing about the corrupt liar and cheat who the Republican Party supports by 90%.

History will not be kind to the GOP for that horrendous failure.

Skud... President Trump didn't have to make plans to combat an unseen corona virus or any other global pandemic threat. Those plans had already been made and put in place by the Obama Admin. All Trump had to do was not dismantle the structures already in place.

All President Trump has to do is tell the truth each time he is on television and speaking to the American people.

The questions you and all the rest of your misguided conservative pals are unable to answer is why Pres Trump is fundamentally unable to do that and why Trump is unable to reassure the American people and the global markets during this time of crises.

skudrunner said...

You realize of course that trump did not dismantle the response team and the head of it quit and wasn't replaced.
Putting pence in charge is not a bad thing because he is the VP and that carries some clout. It is understandable why biden was not in charge of anything and obama made a good choice by keeping him in the background and just bringing him out when he needed a cheerleader.
This is a media extravaganza and they are making the most of it.
I know you think the swell guy was a saint but his incompetence strengthened isis and cost several their heads. To keep up his swell guy image he donated millions to the Paris accord and Iran asking nothing in exchange. I guess it is better to create panic than be realistic because that is what the press is all about, taking down trump.

The Trump administration fired the U.S. pandemic response team in 2018 to cut costs.

Rear Adm. Timothy Ziemer abruptly departed from his post leading the global health security team on the National Security Council in May 2018 amid a reorganization of the council by then-National Security Advisor John Bolton, and Ziemer’s team was disbanded. Tom Bossert, whom the Washington Post reported “had called for a comprehensive biodefense strategy against pandemics and biological attacks,” had been fired one month prior.

It’s thus true that the Trump administration axed the executive branch team responsible for coordinating a response to a pandemic and did not replace it, eliminating Ziemer’s position and reassigning others, although Bolton was the executive at the top of the National Security Council chain of command at the time.

“Trump also cut funding for the CDC, forcing the CDC to cancel its efforts to help countries prevent infectious-disease threats from becoming epidemics in 39 of 49 countries in 2018. Among the countries abandoned? China.” That was partly true, according to 2018 news reports stating that funding for the CDC’s global disease outbreak prevention efforts had been reduced by 80%, including funding for the agency’s efforts in China. But that was the result of the anticipated depletion of previously allotted funding, not a direct cut by the Trump administration.

On Feb. 24, 2020, the Trump administration requested $2.5 billion to address the coronavirus outbreak, an outlay critics asserted might not have been necessary if the previous program cuts had not taken place.

So skud, what do you think of Trump negotiating with terrorists and releasing 5,000 jihadists?

Do you think that's "swell?"

And yes, I think President Obama is SWELL, and he's a g-d saint compared to the incompetent liar, cheat, and fraud currently defiling the Oval Office.

skudrunner said...

Ms Shaw, Normally I can follow you but on this one you lost me. You went from the cuts in funding to releasing jihadists.
You ask what I think about the media virus. It is the super flu but the media has labeled it Armageddon, black plague, end of the world. This is fodder for the left to blame trump for everything including starting the mediavirus to wall street collapse. I did hear he is responsible for ending the world but I can't confirm that.

Granted the swell guy was not attacking you and you are fine with him attempting to destroy the middle class. Other that his support for special interest groups what did he do for the US people. Obamacare was a failure, the Paris accord was a failure, the Iran payoff was a failure, executive privilege for his AG for adding in the murder of a border patrol agent, disbanding NASA. His only success was selling American companies to China and Italy but that didn't help the American Taxpayer.
