Dr. Fauci: "It is a failing. Let's admit it."

CORONAVIRUS'It is a failing. Let's admit it,' Fauci says of coronavirus testing capacity“The system is not really geared to what we need right now,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in a House hearing.

America has failed to meet the capacity for coronavirus testing that it needs, a top public health official publicly acknowledged Thursday. “The system is not really geared to what we need right now,” Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said in a House hearing about coronavirus test kits in the United States, which were initially dogged by technical glitches. “That is a failing. Let’s admit it.”

Over and over, when the chips are down, the Republicans show us who they really represent... and it's never us. I don't see how they ever get a vote from someone making less than $250k, besides the religious nuts.

From Peter Wehner, a Republican who has served multiple administrations...

"The president’s [President Trump] misinformation and mendacity about the coronavirus are head-snapping. He claimed that it was contained in America when it was actually spreading. He claimed that we had “shut it down” when we had not. He claimed that testing was available when it wasn’t. He claimed that the coronavirus will one day disappear “like a miracle”; it won’t. He claimed that a vaccine would be available in months; Fauci says it will not be available for a year or more.

Trump falsely blamed the Obama administration for impeding coronavirus testing. He stated that the coronavirus first hit the United States later than it actually did. (He said that it was three weeks prior to the point at which he spoke; the actual figure was twice that.) The president claimed that the number of cases in Italy was getting “much better” when it was getting much worse. And in one of the more stunning statements an American president has ever made, Trump admitted that his preference was to keep a cruise ship off the California coast rather than allowing it to dock, because he wanted to keep the number of reported cases of the coronavirus artificially low."

Shaw... let's invite any and all "rightwingers/conservatives/true patriots" to refute anything in the above two paragraphs, without using the names Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton. Let's just ask them to show how any thing Wehner has written is untrue or false. Let's ask them to provide facts and/or links to show where Wehner is wrong.

Like you, I'll be waiting in the silence...

Dave, let's start with skudrunner who comes here every day to blame Obama, the Democrats, and Hillary for the mess Donald made in this horrible crisis.

bluzdude Trump's Evangelical base recently claimed that Trump is the most moral president in America's history. There's no way anyone can get idiots like that to understand ANYTHING! At least we now know never to respect or believe anything that cohort says or does.

Shaw...

Here are two links to stories that buttress your comment above. How evangelicals can say Trump is moral and truthful with a straight face is beyond me... but they do. And they believe it.

WHO'S FREAKEN SIDE ON YOU ASSHOLES ON?
WHY ARE YOU CHEERING FOR OUR PRESIDENT, MEANING OUR SIDE TO LOSE?

To Darth Bacon, I don’t understand what you’re trying to express.

Darth Bacon... nice to see you here. No one here wants to see a disaster. We're very critical of Pres Trump because he is not helping the situation related to Covid-19 right now. He's been telling lies, or is just wrong on a host of details related to the virus. Either way, it is not helping America.

is that rooting or cheering for your president to lose? I don't think so. Rooting and hoping for a president to fail is exactly what Rush Limbaugh and Mitch McConnel did though with weeks of President Obama taking office.

Do you remember the phrases... I hope he fails. And I hope he is only a one term president.

That's hoping a president fails... and exactly what conservatives did when Barack Obama was elected, not what's happening here.
