The magic is and has always been in us, and it always will be. It is our true nature. Why we humans work so hard to deny our true nature can be attributed to our egos and the disease known as othering those who aren't exactly like us. It is our shame.
That video has a special meaning to me. Thank goodness I have a family who faced challenges like the one featured in the video, and the family's response to our gay relatives was overwhelming acceptance and love. Period. That's all they had to do, and they did it.
I also have gay relatives, specifically a niece who was Transgender. I say was because she took her own life this year, despite our unconditional love and acceptance. It is a hard truth for me that sometimes love is not enough.
All the feels Shaw, all of them. I hope your holiday season is all you need it to be. Personally I’m working acceptance of what is here/now. As I’ve told others you don’t have to like here to be here.
