The Nunes Memo

"[T]he memo’s claims are impossible to evaluate without seeing the underlying intelligence it was based on. Nunes could have highlighted the FBI’s citation of Steele without mentioning other, more concrete sources the agency listed.

“The memo won’t actually answer the underlying question, which is whether there was sufficient independent evidence to support the underlying FISA application,” Steve Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas, said. “Only the application materials can conclusively shed a light on that.”

Without the underlying FISA application the Nunes memo is crap. Pure. Partisan. Crap.

Even Paul Ryan used conditional language in describing what is in it.

Trump and his administration have something bad to hide, this b.s. memo is trying to blunt whatever it is that Mueller is going to charge Trump and his administration with.

Shame on the GOP for releasing this b.s. memo.

Sen. John McCain On Nunes Memo Release: ‘We Are Doing Putin’s Job For Him’

The Arizona senator blasted the memo, which President Donald Trump declassified against the wishes of the intelligence community.

THE MEMO - here it is
Click.

I just read it. In short, the memo says that Christopher Steele didn't like Donald Trump, and the petitioners didn't disclose that to the FISA court (which most submissions to the court don't, because the court doesn't much care).

There is nothing here we didn't already know. The memo is a bust — a total bomb-out.

Why did it have to be ...unclassified?

“A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves and much worse than that,” Mr. Trump said on Friday.

That's true you fat bloated lying piece of scum but you need to look in the mirror when you say that.

Here's the opinion of a lawyer specializing in national-security issues:

Bradley Moss, an attorney who specializes in litigating national security matters, has written a tweet storm in which he shreds the memo and says that he believes it amounts to a "pathetic joke."

"This is the scandal??" Moss writes incredulously of the memo. "Are you kidding me?"

More detail at the link. It will probably take a week or two for the Trumpanzees to realize there's nothing there, then they'll forget about it and move on to something else. I doubt the FBI will forget, though.

Here's the condensed memo:

Christopher Steele didn't like Trump, therefore inclusion of data from his dossier with other material should invalidate any FISA warrant against Carter Page.

Yup that's it.

For getting the nation all worked up over that less than weak sauce, the next memo better be signed by The Cigarette Smoking Man himself.

L.P., Don't be so upset, this memo is already blowing up in trump's bloated face. I'd be laughing except for what trump's corruption and idiocy is doing to our country.

We can be thankful that a real patriot, Robert Mueller, is doing his job.

Our long national nightmare will be over soon.

Watergate has had repercussions down through the decades. Maybe the worst consequence of Nixon's crime spree was leaving people like Dick Cheney in politics and look at the damage he has caused American since the days he served in the Nixon White House.

Ford's pardon of Nixon said Nixon would be pardoned for all crimes against America, but at the time of the pardon Ford dodn't even know the extent of Nixon's crimes and other Nixon associates got off without punishment.

There needs to be a complete prosecution of all wrongdoing by the Trump administration, son-in-law and all.

The FBI will follow the evidence in this case until the end of time or until the end of Trump.

Let's hope this is the beginning of the end of trump!

Th FBI became interested in Page in 2013. The Dossier (in which much of its information has been shown to be true) is obviously only a small part of the evidence to show a justifiable cause for the warrant.

This memo is worthless. What in it is even classified? That Carter Page was under surveillance? Duh!!!

Jerry, the far righties crazies think the Nunes memo will put President Obama and Hillary in prison. Seriously. They really believe they are the criminals in all of this and that trump is and unjustly maligned great man. I'm not joking. Go read their blogs. It's hard to believe we live in the same country. Luckily, they're only 30 percent of the American voters, and a the majority of us are sane. Still, it's disturbing to realize so many "Americans" are that crazy.

It's worse than that, Trump was elected by 46% of the voters.

Wow, you're right. The wingnutz of The Deep State narrative are twisting themselves into pretzels trying to spin their Nunes "memo" nothing burger into something of significance.

Every credible media source I've read, including conservative leaning ones, say the "memo" amounts to a highly partisan Republican effort to undermine the FBI, the DOJ, and the Mueller investigation. It essentially lacks any credibility. What it does do is undermine our law enforcement system and the institutions most responsible for our safety.

trump and his lackeys are not concerned with anything other than protecting their own hides. Oh, and inflicting authoritarian rule of men over us rather than the rule of law.

As per a WYD comment, the memo will also cause "several liberal justices" to resign from the Supreme Court. Even though the Supreme Court does not approve FISA warrants.

Me, I'm hoping that Nunes and Ryan are charged. They are CLEARLY obstructing Mueller's investigation.

T.S. and Anonymous @11:07 PM,

It is a frightening thought to understand how many Americans see Trump, a known liar, fraud, and cheat, as a person to represent America. Maybe that's because those 46% who voted for him believe we are a craven country no better than trump?

Shaw Kenawe said...

R.N. and Dervish,

R.N., Trump went after Wray and Rosenstein,TWO REPUBLICANS who were appointed by HIM! And he's been horrible to Sessions, another Republican appointed by him! Trump's only goal is to get rid of the investigation into his corruption, and his supporters are hoping President Obama goes to jail? Those are the same people who think Liberals are insane. Let that sink in.

I've also read several news sources and analyses of the memo, and RN is spot on. Conservatives (RED STATE! FFS!) call it a dud! And we know what the Democrats and the highest levels of law enforcement in the U.S. think of it as well.

This blew up in Trump's corrupt and bloated face. May he continue to destroy himself and what's left of the people who've dragged the Party of Lincoln into the sewer.

Dervish, I read this comment at the link you provided:

"Next big move will be the fulfillment of the prophecy that several Supreme Court Justices will be forced to resign when the scandal of corruption in the court comes to pass, resulting in the resignation of several liberal justices as a result."

Are they really that clueless? Are you sure that's a blog and not a discussion board at an asylum for the terminally stupid?

OMB! That is a great example of the mentality of a Trumpista. Beyond dumb -- brain dead.
