The Undignified President and His Presidency

Donald Trump has dragged the dignity of the office of the presidency down to a dirty level not seen since Richard Nixon defiled it. Trump has surpassed even Tricky Dicky in his alleged crimes against the United States, however, the forces of good outnumber Trump's forces of evil, and Robert Mueller and his team will prevail.

But what does it say about the dignity of a president who calls people names and is compelled by his toxic ego to insult members of Congress, foreign leaders, and who humiliates his 3rd wife -- the wife who is supposed to be a goddess of beauty and brilliance -- that woman who Donald Trump publicly humiliated when news of his shagging a porn star as poor Melania gave birth to their son was made public recently.

The whackos on the right see nothing wrong with President Debauchee defiling and degrading not just the office of the POTUS, but all of us. We're all tainted by the disaster that lives in The White House, whether we voted for the mendacious creep or not.

And here the dotard is again, doing what he does best, insulting and demeaning his betters:

Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!

Adam Schiff's zinger of a reply to trump's grade-school taunt:

Mr. President, I see you’ve had a busy morning of “Executive Time.” Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else. https://twitter.com/realdonaldtrump/status/960492998734868480

I disagree Shaw. How can anyone be responsible for, or tainted by, the behavior and actions of another. Unless that persons supports and encourages the behavior and acttions of Trump? Something less than 50% of Americans did in November. And the number is now near a piddling 35%.

Sorry, I for one feel no taint whatsoever. I continue to be outspoken against the dotard President so I'll never have to feel tainted. I am embarrassed for America however.

Considering that insulting people is "what he does best" -- and frankly, it really is -- the remarkable thing is that his insults aren't even clever. "Little Adam Schiff", "Lyin' Ted", "Crooked Hillary" -- it's just dull, pedestrian name-calling, with no imagination or flair at all.

Maybe he should take lessons from these people.

Trump has degraded the Presidency far more than Nixon did. Nixon at least had enough sense to keep his vulgarity and bigotry to private conversations. Trump practically made those things his campaign platform. And while Nixon was a crook, he didn't collaborate with a hostile dictatorship to get elected.

The next President is going to have a hell of a job repairing the reputation of the government and the country.

What funding problem?
It was not a funding problem when his highness spent almost one trillion to buy some junky cars and create no permanent jobs.
Why should we go in debt to fund illegals just because it is politically correct. Maybe the ones who created and signed the deferred bill should find a way to fund it or should have made it permanent before they left office. Talk about an undignified presidency, pass on the mistakes you made for someone else to clean up. Wasn't that the slogan for the great one for two years.

Members of my family have recently traveled abroad. When people in other countries meet them and find out they're Americans, those same people ask why "you Americans" have Trump for president. (This never happened to me when I traveled abroad while MR. Obama was president.)

That's what I meant when I wrote we are all tainted. Like it or not, DJT represents America. He is the real Ugly American, and we are an uglier country and people because of him.

Yes, Infidel753, the Scots are far more clever than the dotard in the WH. Their insults are so full of truth and wit, two things Trump knows nothing about.

I'd like to ask everyone who couldn't care less about Trump's actions, because, you know, the stock market!!! Oops -- went down over 1100 points last week. Oops -- went down over 1100 point in one day, today!!! Are they going to blame Trump for that?

NO, NO, NO, Mr. Trump. Why go to the “I’m a 10 year old brat on the schoolyard” method you often use? Let me tell you, Mr. Trump; There might be people who dislike Schiff as much as I do, but nobody dislikes him MORE (except probably his wife?…oops, Hehehehe! I'm so adorably funny, aren't I?) Now I’m doing what you do and normally I don’t like that sort of childish behavior, EXCEPT, of course, I DO, I DO, I DO! when it is practiced by a man like you. You big fat hunk of orange love, you!

Possomlady, Trump and his supporters were crowing like drunken yahoos and giving Trump credit when the stock market was soaring, but they're mute now that it's tanking. IOW, they are what we've alway known they are: know-nothing partisan hacks.

We who live outside the US are shaking our heads in disbelief. Why are the GOP pandering to this imbecile? Don't they realise that Trump is undoing what it took decades to achieve on the world stage. He is certainly not making America great in the eyes if the world.

Now Trump is calling for a military parade with tanks, soldiers, guns, etc., something we see overwhelmingly, but not only, in dictatorships, and Trump fancies himself a authoritarian strongman. Little by little he's inuring a part of the American population to his quasi-fascist agenda, and they, the 30 percenters, don't see anything wrong with this. That may be because in any given population, there will always be a portion that craves an authoritarian figure to lead them. The Republican Party base is that population in the U.S.
