#45's New Low in the Polls -- 33% Approval; 62% disapproval

Every Gooper who's forced to look at #45's miserable approval numbers will yelp and yap that "the polls said Hillary would win last October!" as if predicting who will win is the same as asking Americans how they feel about their president. They're not the same thing.

Americans do NOT support this malignant narcissist and his crooked regime.

And this poll was taken before this morning's indictments from Mueller's team.

It appears that Trump's frantic tweeting "Crooked Hillary did it! Crooked Hillary did it!" didn't have the desired effect.

As of yesterday, Trump has a 33% approval rate and a 62% disapproval rate. This is a new low.

The 30 something percenters are hanging tough. As the rest of (thinking) America acknowledges America's Greatest Mistake.

I see that a lot in response to every poll result they don't like. The polls got the 2016 Presidential outcome wrong, therefore all polls forever can be dismissed as meaningless.

In fact, the polls didn't really get the Presidential race wrong. Right before the election consensus of the polls had Hillary ahead by slightly more than two percentage points, which accurately predicted the popular-vote outcome. National polls don't show enough detail to foresee an Electoral College outcome dependent on knife-edge-narrow victories in three bluish-purple states which probably would have gone the other way without Republican laws designed to suppress minority votes (and, perhaps, Russian interference).

Rank-and-file Trumpanzees may dismiss polls like this one on such ignorant grounds, but experienced politicians know better. That's probably why most of them (in Congress) are evading opportunities to defend Trump against Mueller, and in some cases even implying they'll help the Democrats prevent Trump from firing Mueller.

Interestingly enough, there's reason to think that Papadopoulos, not Manafort, is the big story from Monday. Papadopoulos was an adviser in Trump's campaign and has already admitted he repeatedly met with Russian agents and kept higher-ups in the campaign informed about it. None of them told him to stop the meetings because they were illegal. So that's collusion right there. Obviously Mueller will continue investigating Manafort and others to determine the extent of the collusion and what Trump knew and authorized, but we pretty much already know that the campaign as a whole collaborated with the Putin regime to subvert democracy.

Papadopoulos has confessed, Manafort and Gates have been arrested, and more indictments are on the way.

That Hillary is a crafty one all right. It's amazing how brazenly she expands the power of her presidency. I heard that she threatened to fire Mueller if he didn't bring some trumped up charges, toot sweet!

Yesterday’s indictments may be enough to move Trump into the 20s.

Still worth following is the Puerto Rico electric power contracts.

The 300 million contract with Whitefish and possibly linked to Zinke has been revoked and is under FBI investigation.

A second contract for 200 million has been issued to an Oklahoma company. No link to Scott Pruitt yet but it's early.

Democracy Now! has been giving this a pot of attention and what is absolutely clear is that major profiteering is taking place and it's difficult to state that cabinet officials weren't aware it was happening.

Ms.Shaw, you never seem to mention that 84% of republicans support and approve of Trumps performance and those are the folks who put him in the WH.

Wrong. Not just Republicans put #45 electorally in the WH. Independents, white women, and even some Democrats did. However, Independents no longer support Trump, he's lost support among women, and those Democrats who did support him no longer do either. 84% of the Goopers still support #45, but that's 84% of the 32% who still support him. Meager. Puny. Weak.

From Vanity Fair, 10/26/17: A remarkable 83 percent of Republican voters still approve of Trump, compared to just 7 percent of Democrats. But while his overall support among conservatives has remained steady, Fox News also found that the president’s support among two critical demographics is slipping—which could portend serious problems for the president and the G.O.P. in 2018 and 2020. Among white evangelical Christians, Trump’s approval rating slipped to 66 percent from 74 percent last month. His support among white men without a college degree dropped a whopping 12 points, to 56 percent.

I wouldn't feel too great about his 33% of 32% support if I were you.

Sorry Ms.Shaw, President Trump is in very good and I mean very good shape with his base and you very know well that people vote with their pocketbooks, with every economic indicator on a rise and tax cuts being the rocket fuel to come the dems "hate Trump" being their only policy, they are doomed in 2018 and 2020.

"...they are doomed in 2018 and 2020."

I wouldn't crow too quickly if I were you.

Mr. Mueller has only just begun, and we'll see how loyal the base remains when they face the fact that their president conspired with a hostile foreign government to win the presidency.

Trump is a liar, first and foremost, and one of the most unpopular presidents in modern American history. You can't win the presidency with just your base -- 32% of the voting public.

Also, the good economy belongs to Mr. Obama. We've been on lhis budget since October 1.

From now on, it will be Trump's economy and deficits.
